About us

Gifford Fence Company of Orlando is the second branch of a family owned and operated company. We started in Nashville, TN in 1978 when my Dad, Gerald Gifford, decided he wanted to be his own boss. 31 years later we have taken an opportunity to expand the business and move somewhere warmer. We currently have a total of 8 employees here in Orlando. My wife, Liz, & myself. Our foremen Jason, Clint and Austin & their helpers. We are licensed in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake & Volusia counties and fully insured. We also have licenses in a myriad of towns and cities in these counties. If there is work to be done there, we will get what is needed to do it by the book. We offer free estimates 7 days a week. Hey, I'm self-employed, I have to work weekends, so my guys do too. Weekend installations are available. Angie's List members receive a $100 discount on any wood, aluminum or PVC fence installation totaling 150 feet or more. Description of Work: I contacted the company requesting an estimate for fencing. I contacted them again after not hearing back quickly. I had already set up several other estimates by the time they got back to me (he said he was out of town) and they offered to come out at a certain time. I did not respond because I did not feel comfortable with the responsiveness of the company (plus I was dealing with a hoard of other contractors at the time for other projects) so I never told them that the appointment was OK. He ended up showing up at my door unexpectedly even though I never told him it was OK to come at that time. It made me very uncomfortable that someone would just show up without the homeowner actually confirming the appointment. (he said "I can come on X date at X time". I never responded with "that time and date work for me.") Since he was there I showed him where I wanted a fence and let him do his measuring and he did not come and talk to me when he was done nor have I received the estimate yet and the appointment was three days ago. I would not feel comfortable with this provider performing work on my house based on my experience.

I am sorry for any confusion in the scheduling of the estimate appointment. I could tell when we spoke that you were frustrated and overwhelmed (2 other service contractors were already there). So rather than bother you after getting the requested measurements, because you were busy, I decided to head out and get back to you with the pricing after i had a chance to figure it up. Again I apologize for any confusion and wish you all the best with your new home renovations.
