AMC Capital Constructors, Inc. / AMC Roofing, LLC. is a 3 generation family owned and operated company who strives to do great work for a reasonable price.
AMC Roofing installed a new tile roof on my home two years ago. On 9-28-2020, I sent them written notice and pictures of a leak in my roof. AMC breached their contractual obligation when they refused to repair the leak because I had filed a customer service complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) earlier in the same month. The leak continues to damage my bathroom, dining room, and kitchen/kitchen appliances. This is more than just poor customer service and a breach of contract. This outrageous treatment of me and subsequent retaliation, intimidation, coercion, and refusal to fix the leak in my roof because I have filed complaints with the proper reporting bodies for such matters rises to negligence. Do not hire this company because they are extremely unprofessional, regularly breach contractual obligations, and are very dishonest. You don't want to end up in my situation having to file a law suit to recover for your property loss!

Response from AMC Roofing, LLC.
Amc roofing completed a condominium association complex project in 2018. Very successfully in 1/2 the time allotted and very few minor complaints. Ms [Member Name Removed] bought one of the units a few months ago. A water leak was reported to the management company which in turn we were notified of the issue. Amc responded to this issue within 24 hours of being notified and inspected the area. We were met with hostility from the 1st moment meeting with the tenant. Amc continued up on the roof despite the hostle tenant. We were harassed the entire time onsite. Once we repaired what we calculated to be the issue, two deputies from scpd showed up at our office claiming ms [Member Name Removed] alleged that Amc was the aggressor. Once they investigated the complaint , they determined that Amc did no wrong doing and terninated the case. We were then notified the leak continued and Amc responded within a few days with an escort/witness to protect us from any wrongful allegations. We found that someone else had been in the roof and did some inadaquate repairs. Amc proceeded to remove the tarp and repaired the area. Again we were greeted with two sc deputies with a trespassing allegation. Once they were informed that the roof is association owned and Amc had every right to be anywhere in the roof, they again dropped the complaint and allowed us to leave. Since the beginning , amc has had to defend our great name and reputation on every social media and state licensing site from these false accusations of us being aggressive towards the tenant. Amc has fulfilled every obligation under our warranty and beyond. Ms [Member Name Removed] is spreading false accusations and untruths simply because we didn’t bow to her ridiculous demands that first meeting.

When purchasing our current home the inspector found a leak near the chimney. The sellers had AMC roofing come out to take a look at it since the roof was just installed in March. The company said there was no leak and sure enough two months later it started leaking into our living room. I called them the next morning and left a voicemail, but by mid day I still hadn’t heard from anyone, so I called again. I spoke to Kathy in the office and she said that someone would come out and repair the roof but wouldn’t give me a day or time. The next morning she called back and said someone would be out there in the morning. However, no one showed up till noon. The tech spoke to my wife and said he would speak to her again when he was finished up to let her know what he did. After a while my wife went outside to find that the tech just left without telling us what was fixed, if anything. I had to call the office to try to find out what was going on but Kathy said she only takes care of scheduling and doesn’t know any details but she would reach out to the tech and call me back. After about an hour I still didn’t receive any information so I called back and Cathy repeated that she doesn’t know anything about what was going on and that she would reach out to Tyler and have him call me. At this point I didn’t believe them, so I asked for his number so I could give him a call myself. She was hesitant at first but I was finally able to get his number from her. I gave Tyler a call and he told me much of the same as Kathy. Tyler said that he wasn’t in charge of my project and he would have to reach out to Andy to find out what was going on. Tyler called me back about 40 mins later and told me that they resealed the chimney but when I asked him about the damage to the drywall he said that they don’t normally cover anything like that, but he would reach out to Andy to see if there was something they could do. Two days later I still never received a call back from Tyler but I did receive a call from my wife saying someone from AMC roofing was at the house and on the roof doing something. I never received any calls to schedule and the tech never spoke to my wife to tell her why he was there. I tried calling the office 3 times and called Tyler twice. Tyler eventually called me back and stated that he didn’t know why someone was out there and would reach out to Andy again. I still haven’t received an answer at this point and I’m unaware if the issue was actually fixed because the tech never actually came inside to see the where the wet spot was. We caught this leak well before it caused any damage and AMC did nothing to fix it but now they’re trying to say that the damages are on us. I would never recommend this company to anyone because of the lack of communication and quality of work.

Response from AMC Roofing, LLC.
There was an issues reported around the chimney shortly after Amc had completed this roof. We resealed the chimney area and checked back with the owner after a few hard rains and were informed the area was dry and taken care of. Since then the home was sold to the complaintant. We were notified later that there appeared to be a leak around the same area of the chimney. Amc responded to the home within 48 hours of being notified. Lack of communication on our part by failing to contact the owner. Because we knew which area on the roof needed to he inspected, the crew failed to contact the owner and proceeded to the home and re-sealed the counter flashing around the chimney flashing. I personal re-visited the home to inspect the area to make sure it was taken care of, I found that the struck block chimney had gaps in the mortar joints (very common in older homes) and informed the owner of my findings. The owner was upset because no one contacted them to announce my re-visit. I apologized to him about the lack of communication but it was not enough and he proceed to file complaint an at least 3 different websites and maybe more that we have not discovered yet. Again, our fault for not communicating better but amc went out of our way to make sure the roof was watertight and offered to re-seal the block joints in the chimney and it was refused by the owner.

AMC did an excellent job in a timely fashion. The job included re-roofing of entire house plus a second detached garage. Their price was competitive with other estimates that I had. Estimator/inspector was good at explaining technical details of what needed to be done. A large amount of damaged wood sheathing underneath the old shingles needed replacing as they discovered. Their crew worked until after dark every day in order to meet schedule. My only concern was with minor damage to concrete driveway done by their supplier's heavy truck dropping off materials. Layout of my yard made this problem unavoidable.

AMC did a great job for us. We are really proud of our new metal roof and the change in our homes appearance is dramatic. AMC was very professional through the whole process and we would definitely recommend them. There were a couple of minor snags, but AMC reacted instantly and positively and took care of them for us.

I absolutely would use AMC Roofing again. The estimate was correct. The work was scheduled and performed as promised. The cost was roughly $8500.00. AMC roofing was very quick in all their responses to me. I give them an A on the whole experience. From the first call to AMC, they were on the ball. Everything from inspection to starting ahead of schedule. My only criticism?would be to tarp entire surrounding of house, but even clean up was top notch.

It went about as good as it could have. Andy was an absolute pleasure to work with. We need more people like him in this industry. He was always on time, always returned my phone calls in short order if he could not answer his phone when I called. They completed re-roofing my house in about 1 day & 3/4. The city inspector said that they did a very good job. Overall, I could not be happier with the results. Last, but not least , he also had the lowest price of the 5 estimates that I received. Kudos to Andy & his company for a job very well done and at a good price.

From start to finish AMC Roofers were wonderful to work with. I cannot say enough about the Construction Manager Andy Staggs. From the first visit to the last day, Andy was a true professional going above and beyond. I was walked through the entire process from start to finish. Andy even escorted me to the showroom to pick out the type of tile that was to be installed. If ever I had a question or a concern, I never hesitated to call. All my concerns were addressed in a timely manner. When I started this project I contact four different roofers to obtain quotes. Only three provided me with pricing. AMC were the only ones that agreed to work on both the tile re-roof as well as the aluminum patio roof. All the others suggested that I contact a separate roofer for the patio project. I feel like I got two roofs for the price of one! At the end of the project, Andy handed me a (free) Wind Mitigation report that I passed along to my insurance provider. That report saved me over $350! If you are considering re-roofing your home or business, I highly reccommend AMC Constructors!

We were in desperate need of a re-roof on our tile roof. The roof from the original construction in 1979 was having issues, just as every house has experienced in our development. The community developer installed the tiles on battens with a thin membrane instead of today's standards which require plywood decking. Needless to say that didn't work so well. With several roof leaks, and some black mold, it was clearly time to address the issue. We chose to do the right thing and bring our roof up to today's standards. At first, I had reached out to Angies List and called 3 roofers that came highly rated. The prices were a bit higher than I felt affordable. (They came in from $4000 to $9000 higher!) I then reached out to my local HOA Club which referred me to AMC Contstructors. Andy was very professional and took care of all the details. This involved pulling construction and roofing permits. AMC removed old tile, battens and membrane then put up plywood sheathing, modern underlayment, battens and then tile from Entegra. They also replaced and built new curbs for our 2 skylights. The final touch was to paint the mortar along the cap and rake. They did wonderful work. Pretty thorough on the cleanup. They were also very careful with my driveway, as they used a trailer with tires they could empty each day. (I watched my neighbors re-roof from another roofer that used a dumpster that did some damage to their driveway) I would recommend them to others as professional and affordable.
Description of Work: Total tile re-roof. 1) Had engineer draw up plans for new plywood roof decking (house was not constructed with this) 2) Pulled construction and roofing permits. (roof required plywood decking for today's code, hence construction permit) 3) Removed old tile, battens and "vapor barrier" membrane 4) Installed plywood decking 5) Installed Polystick TU Plus underlayment 6) Installed battens 7) Installed tile, caps and rakes 8) Mortared caps and rakes 9) Painted mortar to match tile 10) Hauled away old roof materials and other debris.
