 + -1 more1. The Architect was not familiar with the city of Winter Park building code, which then required the plans to be changed/modified at my expense. Was expecting the Architect to be more informed with the City building code. 2. The plans provided to the city for our variance request needed to be clarified multiple times with myself and the City. occurring additional charges. 3. Overall communication with the Architect was difficult at best.
Description of Work: Requested plans for a home improvement project consisting of building a new roof and raising the roof line from 8 to 10 feet on a 1600sf house. 1. Initial plans were provided for $300.00 2. After a meeting with the City building department, my wife and I were informed that our request to create a Garage would need a Variance request, and that we needed to change our plans due to issues on the front, side and back property setback. (So all this $$$ and time wasted because the Architect was unaware of the City building code!) 3. New Plans were drawn for our Variance request, and forms were completed. The city had many questions on our applications, the plans were not showing all of the information requested, additional time was needed to communicate and update the plans. 4. My wife and I presented our case to the Variance board and our request was approved. 5. Received invoice for $1000.00
