Excellent work for a reasonable price.

Bathtub drain was partially clogged. Pete arrived promptly after my call and tried to mechanically free it up. A leak was discovered in the old drum-type drain, requiring a complete replacement. This had to be done through the kitchen ceiling, requiring a large hole to provide access. Pete did this repair and after ensuring no further leaks, repaired the drywall ceiling. He came back to the house to do drywall work on the ceiling every day for 4 days to give everything time to cure and set properly. The patch was so good, we can hardly tell a repair was done, even without repainting. Also, our water heater subsequently went bad and Pete came out, installed a new one, and took the old one, all on a Saturday. The cherry on the pudding was that he actually called later in the day to make sure we were happy with the new heater. I could not be more satisfied with his work and he gets my highest recommendation. You'll like him!

It went great. He did as he said he would and charged me what he said he would. I have used Pete for a number of items in my house and he has never failed me or tried to run up the price. There have been times when I paid him more than he asked because I thought he deserved it.

He first came by and gave me an estimate. He was so easy to schedule with, flexible and punctual. When he arrived to do the work, we ran into some issues when he couldn't get the nut off the valve. So, rather than having to tear the entire assembly out of the wall, he came up with a fix that only required a new tub valve. The work was well done and efficient. We were also having issues with our hot water heater. He used a pressure gauge to determine that the pressure changes in our hot water heater were way above normal, so high that he didn't feel comfortable fixing it himself. I really appreciate that he knew his professional boundaries and gave us a contact for a more professional plumber he trusted. He even called a few days later to check on the problem. All in all, I was so happy with his work. He's also a really nice guy and a pleasure to have in your home.

We had Top Notch come out last Sunday because my father-in-law accidentally knocked the tank off the toilet in our house. This was a true emergency because we couldn't even shut the shut-off valve off. I called Top-Notch, and Pete asked me a number of very thoughtful questions about the work to be done. He was over at the house within 45 minutes, and he quickly began working on the problem. In addition to solving our problem quickly and coming up with a very good solution, he also gave a number of really specific recommendations to improve the winterization of our house. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Pete and Top Notch for another job. He was very clear about what he could and couldn't do, and I respect that tremendously.

He sticks to his prices. He was in and out in a decent amount of time. He was friendly about it, and gave me some tips that I could use. He's straight-up honest.

He showed up when promised, did the work, cleaned up. Very professional and I would use him again.

Overall experience was good. Pete was prompt and courteous in keeping the appointment for the estimate.

It went great overall. When I called, Pete answered the phone and we discussed my concerns. He was very helpful in explaining what needed to be done. He fixed the faucet in the bathtub along with the tiles and recaulked all around the tub and floor. It looks great-so much better! He then removed the exhaust fan in the bathroom that didn't work and installed a quiet one. It was a rough job having to fix the venting of the fan through the roof, especially since it was so hot. I am very pleased with the fan. Pete then framed molding around 3 doorway openings (kitchen to dining room, foyer hallway & dining rm to family room) and I am very happy with all of his work. Communication was excellent and so was his work. I will definitely call him again.

Overall the work was good quality with methodical approach. I would especially recommend Top Notch (Peter Lindbergh) when the cause of the problem is not obvious and needs some discovering. He was clear from the beginning that he is a handyman and not a roofer and hence I should contact a professional roofer if we finally zeroed the problem to outside window. He however went out of his comfort zone on my request, to open the siding around the window and look for defects in the window. He charges by the hour.

Had Horizon Services provide estimate, which was seven times greater than Pete's. He came and explained what he was doing throughout the service in an educative and friendly manner. He was thorough and clean. He completed the job within two hours and charged for his time and parts.

We will definitely use his services again and also recommend him to others.

Pete arrived on time and assessed the work to be done. The toilet had been leaking at the bottom. He shook the toilet and found that it was unstable, then took off the top and noted that the flush mechenism shook when flushed and when he increased the water flow, it exploded. He recommended that the toilet be replaced and quoted the approximate cost. He then went down to the basement to look for the area to connect the piping for icemaker, note the water turnoff valve and looked for the outlet for the garden hose water connection for the back of the house, then, he looked in kitchen for the garden hose water connection for the front of the house. He then went to the local supply store to purchase the items he would need for the job (garden hose outlets, icemaker line, toilet). Upon return, he then began to install the toilet. That could not be completed because he could not reuse a rigid part taken off of the old toilet and needed a more flexible part. He then began to change out the garden hose outlet in front of the house. The front has a brick overlay and he had to be careful chisel the brick careful in order to fit the new outlet and not crumble the brick. This was successfully completed and then he started the work the garden hose outlet on the rear of the house. It was found that the outlet was leaking due to a hole in the pipe from freezing. That was replaced. He then moved the refrigerator and drilled the hole for the pipe to install the line for the icemaker. He turned off the water valve, drained the lines, then cut the water line in order to connect the adaptation for the piping to connect the line. He consistantly checked for water leakage during all areas of work assuring that all soddering and connections were tight and secured. He then made a return trip to the supply to pick up the flexible part needed for the toilet and installed the part, completeing the toilet installation. Finally, he fixed the bifold door that was lose and off track for the laundry room. Pete arrived at 9 a.m., the appointed time and was here until almost 6:30p.m. I was completely satified with the work performed and will seek his help in other projects that I may need to have done. He shared with me the receipts for the items he bought from the supply store. He was forth coming with the work that he could do and that of which he was not able to do, such as flooring. I had initially called to see if he could lay hardwood flooring and he stated that he could not. I appreciated his honesty in stating his capabilities.

Pete has performed a number repairs at my home. He is always professional, efficient and within budget. If you have a job he can not perform, he will tell you and possibly recommend someone for the job. I highly recommend him.

He is the highest ranked local handyman on Angies's List. He seemed to be absolutely a person of his word. When he told you he was going to do something and when he told you when he was going to be here and when he told you what something was going to cost, all those things came out exact the way he said. His price was good. Everything was good about him.

The short answer is that the service performed was as good as it gets. Very knowledgeable, professional, responsive, and the charge is only a fraction of what I would have paid to a plumber and an electrician picked from the Yellow Pages. He corrected some mistakes and shortcuts those 'experts' had made. I wish all services I come across were as wonderful as he is.

I was very pleased. As the other positive reports describe, Pete is a one-man operation and answers his own phone promptly. He is a self-described handyman and thus doesn't take on jobs for which a licensed plumber or electrician would be needed, for instance. He also works with you to help you understand how your home works -- the plumbing in our house is mid-1950s, and he gave me very helpful advice on how to take care of it (and what not to do!). His rates are very fair, and he kept me informed about the cost of the parts needed. Overall, this was a much much better experience than we've had when calling for repairmen blindly from the Yellow Pages, and I would use him again without any hesitation.

Once we showed Pete what we needed done, he told us that he could not do it because he was not a licensed plumber. We were very surprised by this since he was listed under plumbing. While he was looking over our family room renovation work, he said there are some basements that just should not be fixed up. My husband and I had already been using the family room in the basement for 2 years very comfortably so did not understand why he made this comment. He was helpful with some of the advice he provided but also offered solutions to our plumbing needs that were of a lesser quality.

My house is at least 160 years old and the plumbing in the basement was in terrible shape. After Pete replaced the worst sections we were able to easily put in a modern water heater. He is skilled and honest, never tried to snow me.

Overall, we are very pleased with the work Pete did. I would say that Pete's greatest attribute is the wide variety of services that he performs well. Pete performed plumbing, drywall and carpentry services for us, and we were pleased with how each project was completed. Pete also explained the steps that he was taking with the goal of teaching us to be able to complete the projects on our own next time. We will definitely call Pete again to complete our handyman projects.

This was one of the BEST experiences I've ever had with a contractor. When our drain pipe was leaking into our laundry room from the washing machine, I had no idea who to call. This was my first time using Angie's list and it really paid off. I called Pete from Top Notch Home Improvement. He answered the phone himself on the first try and walked me through a couple of things over the phone to troubleshoot the problem. When we determined it was a clogged pipe he said he would be over in an hour - and he was! He fixed the problem and was courteous, professional and very knowledgable. He also gave me tips on how to prevent problems with it in the future as well as advice on other household plumbing issues I have had. He even took the time to fix a problem that I was having with my dryer vent while he was here. I would highly recommend him and wish that all contractors were like him.

We had just had a new washer and dryer delivered and installed and thought , great, now that is fixed. When my husband looked under the kitchen sink for something only to find a large puddle of water. Apparently the garbage disposal appeared to have a leak. So we remembered Angie's List. That is where I found Pete Lindberg. I explained what seemed to be the problem. He asked me to go buy a new garbage disposal and helped me to figure out the exact one to buy. He said he could be at my house in 2 hours. Except he was early, which was great. He was very personable,knowlegeable and efficient.He had the new disposal installed in about 30 min. The price was extremely reasonably. We would definately call him again. Thanks Pete
