Precision Garage Door of Delaware

Late Saturday afternoon our garage door developed a problem. It came off the track and the cable had come lose on one side. This would have to be fixed immediately as it obviously created a security issue. I called Precision at about 3:45pm and they said they would get someone there probably between 6pm to 8pm. Was I surprised when at 4:30 there was a knock at the door. Jim Holdridge very quickly accessed the problem and proceeded to get our door operating again. He gave us tips on preventing this from happening again and showed us how to "test" our door annually. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs a garage door repaired.

Overall everything went well. The weather was not cooperating to well, but he got the job done in what I consider minimum time. Russ seemed experienced and knew how to put everything together so it worked properly. The only thing I feel a little bit down about was the overall price. But I did agree to the price because I needed the work done. And the work was done quickly and everything is once again working. One thing I would recommend doing if you have the time is get at least three quotes if you are going to have a job of this magnitude. Unfortunately, they like others have a $55.00 charge to diagnosis the problem even though I knew what the problem was I could not get a a estimate without them actually coming out. I would recommend them again for this type service but be prepared on what the costs could be. In this case, I was not. Russ you did a good job.

The individual performing the check up did a good job. He made one small adjustment that eliminated metal-to-metal scraping on one of the doors, eliminating loud screeching sound the door had been making. His work was done in a timely and efficient manner.

The technician was on time, knowledgable, and did a great job of getting our doors back in shape. It was kind of expensive, but the service was everything you would want. You are paying for quality.

The overall experience was terrific. Spending money on a garage is the least thing you want to do. Precision took their time explained what was wrong and I knew they were going to do a good job! Great experience.

I though the price was too good to be true and I was right. I scheduled service for garage door for 1-18-13. I was scheduled for the technician to arrive for time slot 10am-12pm. Technician did not arrive during this time and I had to call the office at 12:30. I thought people do get tied up, let me give them a call. I was not thrilled that noone thought to call me to tell me they were running late. This really lets the customer know if there is an issue and I can stay patient. Customer service told me they were running behind and they could come later or re-schedule for another day. I thought I'd give them a second chance, things happen right? I chose to re-schedule for another day and picked Monday 1-21-13 for time slot 2pm-4pm. Well, go figure, I received a call this time at approximately 3:45 by customer service and was told they were running behind again and they would have to move me to the 4pm-6pm time slot. I declined this offer as I had other committments. Very disatisfied with service. 1st appointment, I did not even receive a call and I had to call them. 2nd appointment, they did not arrive again and wanted to push me to later time slot. I understand, contractors get behind, but this was a bit much. Other surprise was that Precison Door installed my garage door opener a fe years back and I don't remember these issues. Wife even said to get some new garage door prices while they are here. Unfortunately another contractor that frustrates us. Would never use them in the future.

I thought the price was a little high - we used an Angie's list coupon - But, they arrived when they said they would and completed the work in one day as expected. One minor issue - I asked that a seal be replaced on one of the doors and that wasn't done. It's something I can do, so it wasn't that big a deal. But, it would have been nice to have had it done. The quality of work was good and the technician was very amiable. I would recommend them to others.

Very well. My garage door spring broke one morning and I knew I could not repair this myself. I called Precision because of its high Angie's List rating and Delaware location. They were able to get a technician (Rick who was a seasoned professional) to my home by 1:30 PM. Rick suggested two options: one that would address my immediate needs ($391) and another option that would in addition replace rollers with poly-rollers along with other upgrades ($600). I chose the first option. Rick replaced the broken one big spring with two smaller springs, reattached the cables and fixed two rollers that had been pulled off the track. It took him almost two hours to complete the job. He tested it several times to be sure there was no problem. At payment, he honored the 10% senior citizen discount offered via Angie's List.

We were absolutely astonished at Precision Doors immediate and thorough response to our plight. Troy arrived just as the answering service indicated and promply assessed the situation and assured us that it would take him only a short time to replace the spring and further assess the complete system. Troy recommended replacing both springs since the entire system was about fifteen years old as far as we could tell him since we have only owned the home for a year. He was very clear in explanation and professional in recommendation. We had complete confidence in his abilities and asked him to proceed with the work. Troy went about his work efficiently and was very patient throughout the process as we asked him question after question about openers and the particular function of openers. Upon completion of his work, Troy explained the mechanism VS the operation and asked us to repeat the information so that he could be sure we understood exactly how the garage door worked. Imagine! Here is Troy, on-call the Saturday before Christmas Eve, with a family waiting for his return and he is taking the time to teach us all about garage door openers! Additionally Troy suggested that we might want to consider another motor that would be safer since this motor was installed before safety mechanisms were available . He gave us extensive information on brand names, models and prices. He gave us a written estimate for the brand and model of our desire and made sure that we could contact Precision Doors if we decided to go forward with the installation of a new motor. This saga ended very successfully two hours after he arrived. Actually he could have finished the work in a little over an hour if not for all our conversation and questions. What a surprising and educational experience this was for us. This company is THE BEST and their technician Troy is an ACE! To top off the happy ending to the story, next day on my computer was an e-mail from the company President Dean Wilkerson, thanking us for our business and guaranteeing satisfaction. I would highly endorse Precision Doors based on our very positive experience! And thank-you Angie!!

On time for both appointments. Serviceman was friendly and well groomed Replacing the rollers went well They replaced the door gaskets with a generic brand they " always use" . It was too large This caused friction with the seals along the side of the doors, when the door was opened or closed. After adjustment, for the new gasket , the side seal does not fit well, and there is a visible gap for rain or snow to enter When I Complained, I got one followup call, but no corrective action

Garage door opener had issue opening. Remotes wouldn't work unless you are really close to the door. Called them out hoping they could find a solution. Called them on Wednesday and the secretary said they couldn't come out till Friday. After the tech came he said he hasn't been that busy so I don't know what the lady on the phone was talking about. They had a $55 service charge that I was aware of (I had to ask about it, as opposed to them telling me first). Tech came out looked at it. Basically did what I did to troubleshoot it which was to reset the remotes. Basically told me there nothing that could be done and to try calling the company directly. Garage door still broken. Basically I guess its not there fault they can't fix it because it seems that the garage door mfg can't seem to fix the problem. Still had to pay $55 bucks.

The estimator was professional and knowledgeable in discussing the work we wished to have done. It took a little over two weeks for the new doors to arrive. On the scheduled day of installation, the garage door installer was bearly two hours late. In fact, I had to call Precision Doors to ask when the installer would arrive. Apparently, there had been an impromptu office meeting which caused the delay. I would have appreciated it if someone would have been proactive in contacting me. When the installer arrived, he was apologetic about his tardiness. He then proceeded to spend the next five hours removing the old garage doors and openers and replacing them with beautiful new ones. I was very pleased with the finished product.

Called Precision Door of Delaware around 9:30 on Saturday morning, and spoke to an operator who scheduled a service call. Jim, the local technician in Lewes, called back 15 minutes later and came over right away. He was very professional, polite and seemed to be very knowledgeable about garage door issues. He quoted a price of $381 to replace two springs. I was a little taken back because that was approx $80 higher than what the operator estimated. It was also higher than another estimate I received on the phone from a different company. We decided since he was there to go ahead and do the work. He finished in approximately 1 hour. I was very pleased with his work, but thought the price was a little high. I did use a $15 coupon found on their website.

Everything went really well. They did a good job and were quick.

I was unhappy with the service and would not use them again. The gentlemen that showed up spent only a short amount of time with the garage door and then presented me with a cost that was less than the deal I purchased. Which doesn't make any sense. He didn't know I had purchased anything and I had to prove to him that I did. We had to go back and figure stuff out, then he said he would have to do some "fuzzy math". I didn't trust him at all. The part that he needed he didn't have, so he had to come back another day and I had to be home for that. All he needed was a sealer for the bottom of the garage door and he didn't have that with him. I had called the main phone number and they sent me to the wrong office in the wrong state. It was a disaster and he was very unprofessional. When he left I closed the garage door and noticed he had put a huge marketing sticker on the wall and he didn't even ask me beforehand. So I have this huge sticker that I can't get off. I ended up paying double the cost of the deal plus the deal itself. Basically there is no chance in heck I would ever use him again. I am not real confident with the big deals and not sure if I would purchase another one.

Overall, this experience went well. The company was pleasant to work with from my initial phone call right through the repair and job completion. The young woman I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and professional as she listened to my problem and made the arrangements for the service call. Russ was also friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I would definitely welcome him back to my home for any future work on the garage door.

Britt was the tech who installed my door and he paid attention to detail. He knew I wanted something that was done correctly with no short cuts. He went above and beyond and made sure I was satisfied with the whole process .I was pleased with the whole experience and I can honestly say I have the nicest Garage Door in my neighborhood. My neighbors are complimenting how great the door looks. Thanks to all the staff with Precision and them making sure my experience with them was a enjoyable one. .

MADE CONTACT WITH THE CO. EXPLAINED MY PROBLEM. LESS THAN 24HRS RUSS ONE OF THE DOOR TEC SHOWED UP ON THE TIME AGREED ,EVALUATED THE PROBLEMS AND GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE. SET UP A TIME TO HAVE REPAIR DONE. RUSS AGAIN SHOWED UP AT THE AGREED TIME WITH ALL THE ITEMS TO COMPLETE THE REPAIRS,HE CHECKED OUT THE FUNCTION OF ALL COMPONENTS AND ADJUSTED AS NEEDED. MY DOORS NOW WORK BETTER THAN WHEN FIRST INSTALLED. THANK YOU RUSS AND THE FOLKS AT PRECISION DOOR. THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES ON MY CALL LIST!!!
