We hired JW Tull earlier this year to replace our roof, install new siding and new gutters. The finished product is great! Our contact person was very responsive and any concerns we had during the process were addressed. We then painted the bring on our house white to complete the look.

From the first estimate with Harry, to interactions with Jason and finally the team that replaced my roof - everything went very smoothly and my roof looks fantastic. I had received 4 estimates for this work and J.W. Tull matched the lowest bid I received and also upgraded the shingles to CertainTeed Shingles. Turnaround time from estimate to roof completion was 6 days. The first day my roof was torn off, plank replacement where necessary, and shingle application. The roofing team work very efficiently and arrived at 8 am and worked through until 730 pm on the first day. The second day the team installed the rest of the roof, including a dormer that needed flat roof installation. When finished the team cleaned my yard up and ran the magnet in all surrounding areas. This morning you would never know they had been there the last two days as my yard was immaculate. Jason, thanks to you and your team for all your efforts - I love the roof!

Workers were on time, maintained a clean work area and were professional. I have used this company for previous work on the exterior of my house and was pleased with the workmanship. I would definitely hire them again.

The largest part of the job was the hardwood flooring and stairs and that seemed to start off pretty well. But as we could see more of the floor we started noticing pieces that varied wildly in color, several of which we felt should have been disposed of. As I understand it, most installers will lay out a portion of the floor to ensure that the pieces fit and blend to some degree before they are fixed in place and there is a certain percentage allowed for waste. That does not appear to be how it was done in our case. We expressed our concern and after quite a bit of reluctance we finally got them to remove three of the worst pieces and replace them. As the project progressed we started running into more issues. Some of them were small but frustrating like installing a door with brass in some places and brushed nickel in others, door handles put in place upside down and trim not matching. These seem like they could easily have been avoided by asking some questions or by paying attention to detail. Getting these minor details fixed was like pulling teeth and cost us extra. When the french doors were installed it was apparent that one was clearly water damaged and they both had massive gaps between the door and the floor. The six-panel door that was installed had to be slammed in order to be closed as the trim is badly out of alignment. We were told we would have to just live with this. The front door was installed and nothing about it was right. We replaced a single entry door with a deadbolt and sidelights with an ornate double-door. The door they ordered and installed did not have a place for a deadbolt and only had a handle on one door. When we asked to have a deadbolt installed and offered to pay extra for a handle on the other door for aesthetics we were told they couldn't do that. The inside framing was problematic but we were able to get them to use some additional trim to compensate for the way they installed it initially. However, the door still doesn't close easily or securely. So now we have an entry door that isn't secure and doesn't look how we want it to. There is a long list of other issues we have with the "finished" product like gaps between floorboards and steps, etc. but I don't want to get into things that could be considered nitpicking. I will say that when we had the hardwood stairs installed it became obvious that we needed to replace the old (awful) banister. He subcontracted this part of the project to a woodworker who I DO recommend. The banister was the only part of the job that came out to our satisfaction and it was done by someone else. With regard to the issue of professionalism - We were never asked if before and after pictures could be taken and posted on their website. However, the one picture that did show up on their site happened to be of the banister - the one part of the project their crew isn't responsible for. All in all, I learned a lot from this experience and I accept some of the blame for things not turning out the way I wanted them to which is the only reason I am not grading this project and "F". I clearly need to be much more detailed in what I expect and get those details in writing before any materials are ordered. I discussed during the estimate phase of this project that I would need his help in getting some of the details right as we went along and I repeatedly agreed to pay more than the original estimate in order to correct course. I was assured that they would get everything just right and wouldn't leave until we were happy. That wasn't the case. Now I know better.

Jason came out to provide an estimate for mold removal in my bathroom. He advised that there was no mold issue and advised what was actually the underlying cause of the issue with my flooring. What I needed to resolve my issue was out of scope of the services he provided yet recommended a company that could help me. Jason further provided me with a detailed description of what all needed to be done and contingencies if all was not as simple as we hoped it to be. He went above and beyond in this respect and I thank him greatly for his professionalism and genuine concern. We discussed other services that I would like to have done to my home and he showed me pictures of completed work of clients who had similar work done. Jason and his team are truly talented and skilled from what I could see. He did not even charge me for the time spent that day even after my persistence! I look forward to hiring Jason and his team in the near future.

Jason and his team did an outstanding job on this complicated repair. This was the third time we took advantage of JW Tull's services. The first two jobs (a new shower stall and a new front door) went so well and turned out so perfectly that we decided to continue making overdue upgrades and repairs to our home. Jason and his crew have been consistently professional, personable and competent. We cannot say enough good things about them and intend to tackle further projects with their help.

I had some pretty significant water damage from a leak that was coming off of a balcony that had done a lot of damage, mold, bad wood, etc. I called Jason and he and his staff came out promptly, spoke very clearly about what to expect from a price standpoint. Even based on things he wasn't immediately aware of he let me know what the worst case senario would be. His pricing was much more than fair and his work was pristine! I know now moving forward I will never work with anyone other than JW Tull and I suggest that if you want things done properly that you do the same.

I recently had my 20 year old master bath completely redone by J W Tull Contracting. My bath was really nasty. They tore everything out to the studs and sub floor. Jason moved walls, relocated plumbing and managed every aspect of the rebuild. It was completely turnkey. They orgainzed everything for us. They advised us on layout and saved us from many personal misjudgements around layout and design. Their pricing was fair. They were always on time and delivered on every promise. They were attentive and made sure of my satisfaction. I have also used them for window replacements and general plumbing needs.You won't be disappointed.

Met with Jason and went over the project, he then emailed me a detailed quote of the work to be performed. Completed job on a Saturday at my request. Jason and his helper were quick and clean and the workmanship is excellent. Would recommend for any general home repair or plumbing.
