They came out on the weekend. The sales man was great. I don't have contract so they said they'd come out within the next few days but ended up coming within the hour. I have recommended them to other people so I guess they are pretty good. The workers were direct to the point and got the work done.

It was zero hassle. Friendly and professional. No upsellinng and everything they did exceeded my expectations.

The cost of the "inspection" was to be $129.00, much higher than competitors who ranged from $59 - $75. Despite the fact that the technician had to test the entire system after replacing the non-functioning inducer to make sure everything worked, they still charged us the $129.00 inspection fee in addition to the $277.00 charge for labor for repair/replacement of the inducer which was still under warranty (no charge for the part). A total bill of $406.00! To add injury to insult - They did not carry in stock a critical component of a boiler/heater they sell and install! Temperatures dropped into the 30's some nights, and we thus spent an entire month dependent upon an inefficient wood fireplace to keep from freezing. What if we had no fireplace? We are two retired seniors - what if we did not have the fireplace, and our social security benefits did not enable us to rent a hotel room for the month without heat? I believe it's incumbent upon vendors to keep critical parts for heating and ventilation systems in stock so that they can immediately repair broken systems. Seniors have been known to die due to lack of heat during winter weather. There can be no excuse for not have parts available, it's a matter of life and death! Last but not least, I wrote to Brian Frederick, president of the company to voice my concerns (but was not asking for a refund) and have never received even the courtesy of a reply of any kind, much less an apology.

My family awoke early to prepare for day without sewer system. After several hours, had to reschedule installation because somebody at company failed to notify installer of arranged date and time. Work was completed as promised that day. I had to leave before workers finished, but gave them credit card number to pay for job. They left no literature, model number, serial number, etc. for new equipment installed. I have called four times to request information regarding model of pump and/or pump manual - without any success. I have emailed the company - no response. I am now concerned that if anything goes wrong with the pump, I have no appropriate paper trail for warranty repairs through the pump manufacturer or even the installer. In fact, based on my history with them thus far, I have no idea whether Jos. Frederick and Sons would respond to an emergency repair call. They don't seem to care much about customers, once they have been paid.

They came at the earlier of their stated window and fixed the clog quickly and professionally. Plumber was polite.

They were very pleasant during the scheduling process. The plumber showed up on time. They were very polite, explained everything, and did a thorough job. We're happy!

The cost was $120. I use them every season.

Went great. I received a call ahead of time that the technician was on the way and he arrived in the window provided by the company. It was pouring rain but the technician still looked at my outside units until it started lightning. He waited for it to stop and then continued to check the units. He ultimately found that a wire in the circuit board was not connected properly and once he reconnected the wire correctly the air temperature corrected to the proper cooling level. Although he probably could have told us that it was something else and charged us for the visit (this was not a maintenance visit), I was really happy that he considered it maintenance and did not charge me for the visit (he was probably there for 45 minutes). This level of service is what I expect from a reputable company and was very pleased with the experience.

These guys were really great. I have used many service providers over the past 7-8 years and I have to say they were probably the most professional, courteous, and knowledgeable folks I've come across. Rob came out to do the estimate on the water heater and was nice enough to show me the thermostat so I could try to turn it up and see if that solved our problem. It didn't so I had them out to do the work. The techs that showed up were clean, quiet, and very fast. They wore shoe covers in the house and left my basement cleaner than when they arrived. The grill line is perfectly placed and installed professionally. I have no worries that it is safe. I noticed after they left that the gas fireplace was not working and they came out at my convienece and turned it back on. Great experience. Do not hesitate to use them for your plumbing needs.

The work was done efficiently, thoroughly, and professionally. They had the water back on, the pipes replaced in one day and only had to return to finish up some details. Their work was excellent.

I was out of town for a couple of weeks when my wife informed me that our kitchen faucet had broken and was leaking. I looked up a couple of plumbers on Angie's List and told her to call Alex Frederick. They sent two young men, practically teenagers, to the house to look at the faucet. They tried to sell her a new faucet with installation for several hundred dollars. The price was far more than we were willing to pay, so she called another plumber. The second plumber informed her without even coming to the house that she should first check with the manufacturer (Kohler) to see if it was covered under a warranty. She called the Kohler ... and sure enough it was covered. They sent a replacement faucet free of charge. When I returned home I installed the new faucet. Total cost of the replacement ...$0.00. I think it was unprofessional of Alex Frederick to send two wet-behind-the-ears teens to try selling us a completely new faucet when it was completely unnecessary.

Always great as usual and he even pulled the weeds around the A/C Unit. I would highly recommend him. I use him for a lot of services and they have all ways done a great job. My furnace went out and he sent his crew with some space heaters to keep warm and was able to replace my furnace on a rainy Saturday morning two days later after they ordered it. I will always remember their service and kindness.

Salesman was outstanding, did not oversell, got me exactly what I needed and no more (even though I was asking for it). Installers arrived on time and prepared. In addition to the basic install, were prepared to fix the drain pipe which had clogged. Drain was primarily for A/C unit, but they wanted to connect the overflow pan to it, so cleared the drain. Job took a few hours, they did not make a mess, did as much work outside the house (soldering pipes and such) as they could, then brought the tank in.

The crew was phenomenal! We honestly cannot sing their praises more highly. The initial appointment was punctual and thorough, the estimate honest, and scheduling the follow up installation was able to happen the following day. For the installation, the entire crew was personable, professional, attentive to detail... everything you could hope for. Not even a dog bite at the beginning of the installation could deter their professionalism and outstanding customer service. Seriously, they were unbelievable. We are now customers for life!

Professional and pleasant from the first phone call to the end of the job. Nice and helpful people on the phone. They arrived on time, priced everything out and explained the options, worked around the cats and dog, and were pleasant and professional.

Joseph Frederick and Sons were excellent at replacing our oil heating system with a new gas furnace and new A/C. They completed the work on time and handled all of the city permits and negotiations with the gas company. Their communication was excellent (thanks Bud and John!) and the workers were polite, friendly and respectful. We had a minor glitch a few weeks after installation and they came and fixed it next day.

Had an appointment the day before a holiday. Gave a time and said they would call before coming. No call. Made multiple calls to their answering service and was told someone would call me back with a status. No call back. The answering service involved their supervisor and I was told their instructions tell them to take your information but if you are not an existing customer they do not pass the information on even though they tell you someone will call you back. The answering service did escalate and someone did call back telling me he had no idea if the techs were still out, the dispatcher was gone for the day. Then told me they don't schedule appointments for new customers the day before a holiday and didn't know why they even gave me the appointment. Very rude. 1.5 hours after my appointment window, I went to the grocery store. 15 minute trip, no call as originally promised, but I came home to a note saying sorry we missed you, call the office to reschedule. I called another company to do the work.

Called provider and was informed there was a $118 visit fee for a Saturday appointment VS. normal $79 weekdays. I asked for cost to snake drain and was told they couldn't give me an estimate on the phone. Approved the Saturday visit, and had a technician at my house within 2 hours. As soon as the tech was at my house he told me (without looking at anything) that there was a $269. charge to snake the kitchen drain. I was surprised (and offended) but they were there and I was already out $118. for the service call, so I said go ahead. The job took about an hour to complete with clean up. The drain is working perfectly. I'm not happy being charged almost $400. for such a simple job.

Their price was very moderate and they were very quick in their service. I would recommend them. I am expecting to see them soon.
