Jmz Exteriors

This contractor is allowing a man in Dover DE to work under his license (I called the owner of JMZ Exteriors last month before I signed the contract and verified that he is allowing this man to work under his license). The man's name is Brian Hicks and represents himself as "Preferred Roofing." Very smooth talker and promises repeatedly "don't worry, I'm honest, I'm going to take care of you." I heard this 20x BEFORE he got paid. He got insurance money to do my roof BUT before I signed the contract, he said if we submitted and got a supplement payout from the insurance that he would repair/replace the side of my front porch which was rotted (just put up plywood and some cheap siding) and install a standard size bedroom window at "no charge" for giving him the business. Well, he got the final supplement payout from the ins. company from me, and he has "scheduled" to finish the promised work several times since then (fix the side of the porch and install window). As soon as he got paid he stopped returning my calls and texts. They dropped off wood and the window when I paid him, but it's all still sitting there untouched. I send text after text to get no response. Basing my renovation spending on his promises, I depleted my savings doing other work to the house, so he has me over a barrel and he knows it. He finally called me wanting to know what I wanted and acted ANGRY AT ME. I asked him when they were going to finish the porch and install the window. He said he'd let me know and said to me after the several missed appointments "you know I didn't charge you for this work". As if now I am asking for the world expecting him to keep his word as a man. A far cry from "don't worry, I'm gonna take care of you." He was a GREAT guy - until I gave him that last check. Now I have no savings left and a big hole in my front porch and in bedroom where there's supposed to be a window. WHAT A SHYSTER. I have literally BEGGED him to just come and finish as he promised....no return text, no return phone call. Thank God I have witnesses to our agreement as well as all the text messages between us. KARMA!!!

Salvador arrived and did my attic window, did not replace the wood and left partially completed. He said the wood needed to be replaced, which was in the contract that he signed. He then proceeded to the first floor and completed that section. He skipped the entire 2nd floor soffits and fascia. He came back the following day and my husband paid him the balance due. He informed my husband that he needed to come back to do the 2nd floor once we purchased gutters. I have called and texted Salvador for over a week. He will not return my calls or text messages. Trying to get a response, I used my Mothers cell phone, impersonating someone who needed roofing work done and left a message. He returned her call in less than 5 minutes. When he called back my husband answered and when asked why he hadn't returned my calls and text messages, he replied his phone was broke. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. I AM TAKING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST HIM FOR NOT COMPLETING HIS WORK.
