We finally got a contractor. They did such horrible work, it was a nightmare, and he walked off the job. The only thing I can say is, thank God we didn't give him any money. His name is Wayne Salvador. We couldn't find anybody because this was a big problem all over Delaware this past winter. Our insurance took care of it. It took four or five days to get someone out to get the water out. It's flooring, duct work, drywall, all the insulation fell out, and then we had the chance of mold and mildew developing. He seemed a little to anxious. They came in with two guys. The first floor consisted of 1300 square feet. Before they put in a new sub-floor, they were supposed to tear out the rest of the old floor, because of possible mold. They only did two rooms, they butted the new sub-flooring up against the old sub-flooring. Then the next contractor that came in had to tear out all the work that Wayne Salvador did. He said that they worked down here all the time and he would be able to it. My husband found out that he hadn't done something like this before. He sent in a plumber who was supposedly licensed. We trusted them. He tore out all of the plumbing for the entire house. If it wasn't for the mental aggravation I would take him to court. We just want our home back. He left us with no water. We have to find another contractor. I think they are use to doing small jobs. The contract was handwritten. They were late and the second day their truck broke down and my husband went down and picked them up. The only thing that I would tell anybody is, stay away. He did give us a reasonable price. We weren't saving that much money. Nobody knew what they were doing. I don't know where the plumber got the idea to tear out all of the plumbing. He has cost us an additional $5500 to repair the damage that he did. They were constantly taking cigarette breaks. They showed up with hangovers. The plumber didn't show up until about 11:30 because, of the two hour drive. They left the water hose running. It was all over the lawn, sidewalk and up to the steps. It had been running over a day. They busted a window.
