We are a family owned and operated business that was started over 50 years ago. We have a large Appliance Showroom with a knowledgeable sales staff.
Our own Service Department is available if or when you may need expert service.
The Parts Department and Reconditioned Appliance Center are located one block away at 314 New Rd.
We can install and service what we sell.
Not the greatest experience with Hawkins & Sons. Customer service was not what you would expect. Had a hard time with rebates due to the receipt they supplied not indicating the proper model numbers. Then, they did not realize that they had sent me the wrong oven after I tried to install. Then, they asked me to bring back the incorrect oven and pick up the right one, but I told them since it was their mistake, they should swap them out. I went to Hawkins & Sons from a recommendation through a builder, however I cannot offer that recommendation for the future. I hope other customers have a better experience than I did.

We had a unique situation. We were delighted with Bill and Eric! They were thoughtful of my wanting to keep a backsplash already in existence. The found a solution and made it perfect to install the new range. They were prompt and worked well together and with us. It was painless!

Description of Work: Appliance service business. I called for an appointment and was immediately given a date. The technician who was coming to my residence, called first thing in the morning of the appointment and gave me an accurate 1 hour window of his arrival time. The service was professional, parts needed were on the truck and the repair was completed with one visit.

Description of Work: The service tech came to home to fix frig. Determined that a relay had failed. They replaced the relay and the frig worked for maybe two days after which it failed again. We then purchased a new frig from another store rather then pay for a return call. Couldn't afford one at the amount that was being charged. I doubt they found the root of the problem just changed the part out on that first call.

Electric Range had to be ordered and it arrived on time. Hawkins technicians installed the new range, took away the old. The Range was leveled properly, checked out. The technicians were efficient, qualified and left no debris. We have used Hawkins for more than thirty years and they never fail to deliver.

There was an appointment mixup, but they took care of it right away and had my dryer fixed in no time. Their management really does strive for customer service. This was never about the quality of their work. That has always been excellent. Not only will I use them again, but I will recommend them to all my friends.

It is a nice appliance. The service guy, his name was Bob. He was great, he would talk to me first to find out what features I wanted and he would only show me those appliances. That was great as there are so many ranges out there. He gave me choices. He helped me focus on what I wanted instead of wandering out looking at things that did not suit my needs. We are still doing the construction. They are not installed yet. We bought it in May. It arrived five days later. We are still doing construction so they took it back and I will call them when it can be delivered.
Description of Work: I used Hawkins & Sons. They sell kitchen appliances. They helped us find a over the range microwave. It is a microwave and a range.

They said that the prices on appliances were increasing 6% every quarter for the past ten years, which is why we should buy immediately. They just completely fabricated information and offered prices that were about 20% higher than anybody else.

The information given by the salesperson may have been misunderstood. We carry over 20 different brands. Every 3 months we are issued new pricing from each individual manufacturer. We have experienced price increases from any given manufacturer at least once a year for the past ten years. This is due to the rising cost of raw materials and labor. We never try to be the cheapest place in town, but are very competitive with our pricing. We strongly believe we are the best value in town. Our service after the sale is unequaled by any of our competition.

Hawkins and Sons overbilled us by $97.22 and will not reimburse us although it was their mistake.The repairman also was very unprofessional in asking personal questions like how much we paid for our cars and gossiping about the previous client whose home he had just left.
Description of Work: Our digital clock failed on our Jenn Air double wall oven.The repair man came out initially to see what was wrong.We had already contacted JennAir to see about how to get it repaired and they emailed us back with the part # and price which was $200.78. When the repair man came originally I had told him that Jenn Air gave a price of 200.78.He also told me I needed a new hinge for the oven door and that it would be $45. On the final bill under "parts" he wrote" $278-Jenn Air quote" for the clock and $65 for the hinge parts. My husband called the owner,Ed Hawkins and he was mad because we were"checking prices on the internet" as if that was against their rules.My husband told him that he wrote down the wrong price and quoted a cheaper price for the hinge,but he would not budge.He didn't even want to listen to the reason .

I am sorry the member is unhappy with the service he received from our company. Jenn Air is not our parts supplier for their products. The price they quoted was an estimate and was stated that the price was subject to change without notice. The prices from our factory authorized parts suppliers change daily. The price of the clock retailed for $258.00. We have a chart we use for pricing to account for the shipping and the labor involved with looking up part #s, ordering the parts, and checking in the parts when they arrive. Thus the $278.00 for the clock. The price for the hinges was an estimate of $45.00 from the technician in the home and was a ball park figure only. However we informed the members yesterday that as a courtesy, we were going to reimburse them a total of $45.00 , thus an incorrect statement of them being overcharged a total of $97.22. In this tough economy we try to be as fair as possible with our charges to customers for work performed. Thank you ! Ed Hawkins

Although there were numerous installation challenges, the delivery crew went above and beyond what was expected to install our refrigerator. While other delivery people may have refused to install the refrigerator claiming the site was not prepared properly, the installers from Hawkins and Sons performed whatever was necessary (from moving electrical boxes to rerouting the water line) to get the job done. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone in the market for high-end appliances.
