We wanted to do a hardscape/landcape project in our backyard but didn't want to feel "trapped" working with a design-build firm. We wanted to be able to bid our project out in order to get the best estimate and stay within our budget. Kent was great to work with and really listened to what we wanted for our backyard patio. We do not have a large backyard space and there are elevation changes so it presented quite a challenge. My wife and I had several changes to the initial designs that Kent created but these were included in the initial cost. Once we agreed on the final design, in order to get the best bids from contractors, I asked Kent to draw up a plan with all dimensions clearly marked so estimates would be accurate. While going through the process of deciding on a contractor, I decided to submit plans to the township for a permit since most good contractors have a lead time of about 6 weeks or so. Kent was very helpful in calculating the square footages and dimensions to provide our township with accurate information. We are very happy with how everything progressed and recommend Kent for anyone needing landscape design work.
