Description of Work: Craftsmanship was excellent but that was about it. Customer service was horrible. In todays times customer service is everything, especially when you are paying out your hard earned money. Dan left my house a mess. When they cut the tile they never bother to use a drop cloth to cover my furniture. There was dust every were for four to five days. When i asked about this, Dan said they cleaned up at the end of the job. Who wants there furniture covered in dust for that amount of time. Why not clean every day. Dan never started the job before 9:30 AM and left before 3:00 PM and when he did leave, He would leave the front door and garage open leaving my house exposed for hours. The only day that wanted to come early was to receive final payment. That day he was available at 8:00 AM. He also broke a picture frame, and seemed like he had a problem replacing it.

 + 0 moreCallahan Flooring gave estimate for hardwood stairs on our house. Took $1,600 deposit for materials in December 2013. Said that ordered flooring that day. Repeated calls and emails. Claims problem with hardwood supplier. Difficult to get to respond to calls and emails. Months go by. Finally in mid-March said supplier never ordered. Really? Then said "check was in the mail" for the return of the deposit. Did eventually deliver a check for the deposit. if he repeatedly checked on the order in January and February and early March, why was it not until mid-March that he discovered that the stairs were never ordered? Were we giving him a loan for three months? If he mailed the refund check, why did we not receive it?

 + -1 moreThey nailed through the top of the middle planks and the last 3 rows at each wall. They used light color puddy on nail holes. The floor is a dark color. They did not ensure the floor was level. They only used 2 nails per shoe molding strip and most nails were not long enough. The transition strips were incorrectly installed. They should have added a tongue strip so the transition would fit. Ours sticks up and is not solid.

 + 0 moreI'm very happy with the Calahan brothers' work, from beginning to end. They were professional, knowledgeable, and courteous; they kept me informed, showed up on time, were respectful of my house, and completed their work as scheduled. Their service was all-inclusive, and included helping me select the new tile and grout; tearing up the old vinyl floor and sub floor; removal of the old baseboard trim and installation of new trim; installation of new sub floor; tiling and grouting; and trimming the bottom of the door. They disposed of the old flooring and trim, and cleaned up after their job was complete. Their workmanship is excellent, and the finished floor looks great!
Description of Work: Replaced vinyl flooring in powder room with slate tile.

 + 0 moreThe service was efficient and of great quality. The brothers arrived on time and worked quickly, with great attention to detail. They were professional and had a wealth of knowledge about the work they do. It was nice to have friendly contractors in my home that really had a passion for their work. They made sure I understood what was being done and walked me through each area to make sure I was pleased. The quality of their work was impeccable and the price was affordable.
Description of Work: Calahan Flooring ripped up my old carpet, disposed of it, moved all my furniture and installed new hardwood and all the finishes for my living room.
