The tech who came gave me an estimate immediately and had the repairs done very quickly.
Description of Work: Wind blew off some of my fascia last night. I called them about it and they had a tech at my house and the repairs done within a couple hours. I'll definitely be giving them priority when I'm ready for a new roof.

My wife and I will not be recommending All American Roofing to any family, friends, or neighbors. We wish we had used another less expensive company and saved $1200. In the end I think we have a quality roof but the entire process was very disappointing and a horrible experience for my family. We were told by scheduling it would take two days since they had to stop working at 5:00 PM. They actually worked 7:30 AM - 6:30 PM on Thursday and Friday and still were not done. We were told on Friday afternoon by the project supervisor that it was going well and they'd finish everything up sometime on Saturday. They actually worked another entire day on Saturday 8 AM to 7 PM and then again on Sunday 8 AM - 4:30 PM. If they had told us on Friday it would take the entire weekend we would have made arrangements to go away to my parents for the weekend. The weekend was very stressful for our young daughter who was unable to nap because of the noise Saturday or Sunday. Our dog was also terrified of the noise for 4 long days. My pregnant wife did not need the added stress this caused her on the weekend either. I'm sure our neighbors were also not happy with the noise all weekend long starting at 8 AM both days but the giant All American dumpster that was in the street for 4 days let them know who was to blame. You would think a company like All American would have more than 2 people working on a roof replacement but that is all we had. A few other employees stopped by at one point on Thursday and Friday but it was predominately only two people working on the entire replacement. I called the main number for All American on the last day of the job (Sunday) to check the progress and to raise a few concerns and was told I would get a call back. After 24 hours of not hearing back I sent an email Monday evening and finally received a response. I had a few issues with the way they left the house and eventually it was taken care of the following week. They also left extra supplies and material in my front yard for 4 days which was inconsiderate. Most of our stress could have been avoided if they had used more than 2 people or at the very least let us know it would take all weekend to finish so we could have made arrangements to stay somewhere else.
Description of Work: We had our roof replaced.

All American's workers started early in the morning and the roof was completed by days end. As we anticipated, the job was done beautifully. However, in walking around the property, we found 8 rolls of nail gun nails, and a large quantity of staples. The Contract provided for a "thorough clean-up daily" and "the lawn and driveway to be magnetically swept." The workers ended very late in the day and, therefore, did not clean-up until the following day when I called their Accounting Clerk and Office Manager, Linda and told her about the amount of debris left on the property. The next day, they came and cleaned up the debris and some of the nails and staples. Weeks later while trying to landscape the lawn, we found more. Again, I called the office and talked with "Linda." I have to say that as much as Vladimir Smiro is the company's biggest asset, Linda, the Office Manager is VERY, VERY difficult to deal with. From the minute you pick up the phone from her, she talks OVER you and you cannot get a word in edgewise. Their Office Manager, LINDA, needs to deal with customers in a more professional manner by ALLOWING THE CUSTOMER TO TALK!!! She immediately is on the defensive and is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH. I had a GOOD experience with All American Roofing, however, DEALING WITH THEIR OFFICE MANAGER IS VERY UNPLEASANT.
Description of Work: We had Vladimir Smiro put in a new skylight in our bathroom. He is VERY professional, a good worker and is very knowledgeable. We then found "Acrobat Ant" infestation in the roof of our addition. He worked with the exterminators, "ACTIV Pest Solutions" and corrected the shoddy work of the contractor, TMD Builders, Inc. with the type of insulation used. Since the home was almost 20 years old, we elected to put a new roof on the home. At first I thought the estimate was way too high. Vlad worked with us and we were able to obtain a price that was good for both of us.

The project leader Karl and his two crew members were very professional, pleasant and capable. They arrived on time and worked hard in the heat to complete the job in one day. Because of having to replace six sheets of plywood, the job took longer than I think they expected, requiring them to work late. They did a thorough job of cleaning up after the demolition and were careful not to damage my plantings below. There was much debris to be hauled away, almost a full time job for one crew member. I appreciated the fact that the dumpster was parked on the road rather than my driveway, which has cracking problems. I was also very impressed that Karl who did the estimating was here to supervise the entire job and even did half the work himself, making me feel confident that it was done properly. I found him to be very helpful. I tend to be a worrywart, and he responded very quickly several times to come out and relieve my concerns, including worries about my upper roof. He also went up into the attic to check out my attic fans, something no other estimator did. The office staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. All American Roofing's excellent internet site allowed me to locate several nearby houses, where I was able to view my color selection and even talk to a previous customer. I had five estimates. All American's price was not the cheapest but seemed reasonable compared to my other estimates. One other was nearly identical. I am willing to pay a little extra for a better job and service. The original estimate was less than noted above, i.e. $ 2875, but I upgraded to the thicker Ultra shingles that added $270 and there was an extra charge of $300 for the six sheets of plywood. (The contract specified a price of $ 50 were sheet.) I also liked the fact that All American Roofing did not require any down payment, but payment only upon completion My lower roof can not be seen very well from the ground since it has a low slope, but looking out from the windows above it looks very nice and uniform. So far I have not noticed any leaks, and I am optimistic. I will certainly feel comfortable using All American Roofing again when I need to have my upper roof replaced in a few years, assuming a reasonable estimate.
Description of Work: All American Roofing did a quality job of repairing my roof underlay and replacing the shingles on my lower back 45'-long roof section, which has a low slope and where I have had numerous leaking problems (in at least 4 places), resulting in some rotted wood fascia, soffit, sub-fascia and underlay. Two layers of old GAF architectural shingles were removed, six sheets of deteriorated plywood roof sheathing were replaced, the entire surface was covered with GAF weather-watch leak barrier, and GAF ULTRA High Definition Timberline shingles were installed with new flashing along the upper and side head walls and chimney. Extra work was required around the chimney, where my recollection is that the cricket was covered with new plywood.

Wonderfull We received several estimates and decided to go with All American due to the price and th fact that Brian Liss seemed very honest. We felt that he did not try to sell us anything that we didn't need. He gave us a list of addresses that we could check out to see how the roof color looked on similar houses before we made our final choice. The price on the 2 skylights was half the price of the competitor. The team showed up on time and Brian kept an eye on everything along the way. Would definitely hire again! Apologies for the lateness in submitting this review.

The service was excellent. Karl S , the project manager and his 2 workers were very professional. They arrived on time around 9:30am and continued straight through until the job was completed. They were very friendly; they covered the floors inside the house and they cleaned up after they were done . They used the vacuum sweeper to clean the floor . They tidied up outside . The price was very reasonable and I would use them in the future ,if needed. I highly recommend All American Roofing .

We had damage to our 21 year old roof, gutters, downspouts and aluminum capping from a hailstorm. Early on we decided to only repair the roof at this time and to do the rest of the repair work in another job later. We interviewed 8 roofers and got bids from 5 roofers. We did not choose All American to replace our roof. Dave Scheidegg , the salesperson we met with, is a big positive for All American. Talking with Dave we immediately realized that he was very knowledgeable and passionate about roofing. It was all we could do to keep up with him as he provided us so much information as we walked around the house looking at the damage from the hail. Dave is also very responsive. The bid arrived quickly, was very detailed and spelled out all materials etc. along with financial terms and warranty. We had a few questions, and Dave was very responsive by phone and email. He made a special effort to get a supplier to drop a shingle sample by our home that he couldn?t bring himself. In the end we decided to work with another highly rated roofer that was a family owned business based closer to us who could also offer us a different brand of shingle in a color/look that worked better for our house cou

Salesman very prompt and professional in responding. Came to home within a couple days. Measured and provided an estimate on the spot. Explained the process and materials used well, and had quite a bit of literature that he left with me. No pressure sales pitch just facts. Also said they were busy and it might be a few weeks before the work could be done. Turned out to be over a month before the roof got started. Not a lot of communications from the office about the schedule. Was notified a few days before the start. Crew (3 man team and project supervisor) showed up promptly at 7AM as scheduled. Were on the roof from 7 until dark with a short lunch break (this occurred each day). Supervisor left and returned several times during the day. Crew was supposed to be 4 with 1 picking up old roofing but he was not available due to injury - this slowed the work. Second day the extra worked showed up to assist. Roof was schedule to be 1 - 11/2 days according to the salesman but it took 21/2 days - still much better than other companies I spoke with. Did nice job, cleaned up very well on the last day. There was no required money up front as I was billed after the job was completed. One minor issue with the invoice was resolved quickly. Only concern was that as they stripped and installed material, the lighter weight felt and new shingle wrapping paper was just thrown off the roof. Problem was I live on a canal and there was a steady wind so some of the material found its way to the water. I removed most but not all. Would have received an A rating if that was taken care of by the crew.

I had a branch poke a hole in my roof. Not huge, but enough for water to come thru. They were punctual in coming to write the estimate and the price was reasonable. However, I never heard from them. I was told to sign the estimate and fax it back to them. I did that, but did not hear anything. I called a few days later and was told they did not get it so I resent it and called to confirm. A little less than a week after that, I had not heard anything, so I called and was told, for the first time, they would need to get a permit from the city and it would take 3 to 4 days. Today (8 days later), I had not heard anything. So, I called the city first and confirmed there has been no request for a permit. I then called them and was told they have me on the schedule for 10-7-14. I told them no one called to tell me this and as a matter of fact, no one has ever called me. The only time I get information is when I call them. I advised I was cancelling and will be going with some one else. She said, if thats what I want to do. If you have a small job, I would not bother.

The appointment and proposal were completed on September 8. The signed proposal was received by All American Roofing on September 18 (10 day delay by customer). The work was scheduled for October 7, less than 3 weeks after the confirmed contract was received. All American Roofing schedules our work based on the date the contracts are received, with priority given for leaking issues. Unfortunately, there were three weeks worth of leaking roofs that were ahead of this job on our schedule, and we were committed to complete those jobs before we could get to this customer's garage roof. Good roofers have a full schedule - bad roofers, who are hoping for any work they can find, can get to work immediately on a problem roof. C. Granger/Project Manager

We contacted All-American in June to have our roof, gutters, downspouts and related work performed. An appointment was made, which All-American rescheduled. The second appointment was rescheduled by All-American. Brian Liss came as scheduled to the third appointment. We were impressed with his knowledge and happy with the initial estimate, which needed some adjustments. Brian promised to get back to us with a final estimate. A month later, we still had not heard from All-American. We contacted Brian in July, and were told that All-American was busy with work in North Wilmington due to storm-caused damage, and Brian was overwhelmed with paperwork, but that he would be in touch. A month later we still had not heard from All-American. In August, we wrote to Brian, expressing our disappointment in All-American's failure to communicate. We asked Brian to let us know if All-American simply did not wish to do this work. Brian responded by saying that he was overwhelmed with paperwork, but would redo the estimate and get back to us. Two weeks have passed with no further communIcation. Brian Liss wears many hats at All-American - estimator and project manager. It's great that the company is busy, but unfortunate that he does not have the time to treat potential customers in a professional manner. You might have better luck dealing with All-American if you are located in North Wilmington.

Based on the Angie's List reviews, I scheduled an appointment to get an estimate for replacing two skylights. The woman answering the phone when I called was very professional and took my information. I then received a call to schedule the appointment. The scheduler I spoke with was again very professional, but due to only having one skylight specialist and my crazy work schedule, we had to schedule the appointment a few weeks out. So far, so good. Today, I had to run out of work early to get the latest appointment I was able to make. Ten minutes after the scheduled appointment time, I received a call stating that the man who was scheduled to come out was still "on a roof." I understand, and appreciate, the desire to finish a job. However, didn't he know he would still be on a roof when he should have been leaving for the appointment? Clearly, my time and job are not valued and I will find another roofing contractor.

He came out to look at the roof and measure it. The product that All American Roofing suggested and estimated did not seem to be the correct product for a flat roof. According the GAF's website the Libery Flat roofing product needs a 1/2 inch per foot slope. Our roof has almost no slope; thus we felt that this was the wrong product for our application. The price was reasonable for the work that they were going to complete. I would call them again to provide an estimate on shingled portions of the roof but not for a flat roof.

They were the only company that truly addressed our water issues. We meet with several different companies and they really were the only ones that looked on the outside of our house to fix the water problems inside our house. We were impressed by that. BUT then the workers came in and started to work. They needed to remove all items along the perimeter of the rooms where the french drain was which included removing a loft, washer, dryer and sink. They ripped the loft from the wall-did not unscrew it, and cut the drains to the sink. They did not reinstall any of these items which are pretty big things to just leave unattached and non-working. They were very unprofessional using our porch furniture to rest in, leaving concrete all over wooden rocker chairs, using and breaking my husband's tools, drinking our personal bottled water, and cutting our kitchen sink's drain pipes so that our sink leaks into the floor. They attempted to rip out the incorrect window in our basement and did not repair the one that they incorrectly ripped out. When they removed the windows they went to leave for the night. Leaving our basement open to anything that could crawl through windows. The men that work for this company can work hard but they are very unprofessional. We then developed a leak in one of the windows they installed that was initially guaranteed not to leak. When a representative came, he blamed the leak on another issue and took no responsibility. He instead repeated that the increased amount of rain we have been experiencing is to blame. This company does not care about quality work.

It's a shame because they had put a new roof on our shed about 3 years ago and everything was fine so that's why they received our first phone call when we decided to put a new roof on our house. We have no idea why they did not follow-up on this job as it was over $17,000
Description of Work: This provider did not follow through on submitting a quote. We contacted them in February full aware that the work could not be done until April or May. In early March I emailed them again because we had not received the quote. I was called by their site supervisor and was told it would be coming. We ended up using another provider.

They were very responsive from the beginning. The gentleman who came out to give us an estimate was very thorough and not at all pushy. Answered phone calls promptly and were very pleasant to deal with. The workers showed up on time and put in 11 hour days. They draped the entire property with tarps and cleaned up completely when done at the end of the day. They used a magnetic device to collect all the stray nails and blew off the property. The foreman, Karl, came the third day and trimmed out the inside of the roof windows and did a beautiful job. He also vented out exhaust vent in our bathroom to the outside which is the first time anyone has taken the time to do that. They also insulated the room over the garage when they took the old roof off because that room is cold in the winter. I am sure that is going to make a big difference. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs a new roof
Description of Work: Installed an new roof on our entire home (we have 2 roofs). All the existing plywood had to be replaced. They installed 2 new roof windows and insulated the room over the garage. They also vented the entire roof under the eaves & along the ridge.
