Description of Work: They provided a quote but never followed up for siding replacement. Emailed and called them many times. I thought they would be performing the work. It delayed my project 45 days. They were referred to me by my insurance company but what a mistake it was going to them.

Response from All American Roofing
We work with a large number of insurance claims on behalf of our valued customers, and were grateful to have the opportunity to provide an Estimate for this insurance-related project. In this instance our Estimator scheduled an appointment to evaluate the customer's condo siding project and provided an estimate for three separate options on the day of the appointment. Our Customer Service Rep called the customer after the appointment and the customer confirmed that he had received the estimates, but that he needed to coordinate things with his insurance company. We were later informed by the customer that their insurance company would not provide the funds sufficient to cover the full cost of the project. As a result, we did not receive approval from the customer and were left with the impression that the project could not move forward because the insurance company would not agree to cover the entire cost of the project. We sincerely wanted to do the work for the customer. Our Estimator invested the time to visit the property, fully evaluate the customer's project and provide multiple estimates. Our CSR followed up by phone and email. But because we unfortunately never received a signed or accepted Estimate from the customer we were unable to move forward to schedule the project with one of our installation crews.

Nothing but positive feedback for this company...they did a fantastic job from start to finish and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND them!!! We obtained NUMEROUS quotes from a lot of good companies, and took our time searching to ensure we were getting exactly what we wanted and within our budget and the best company for us was 'All American Roofing'. Dave Scheidegg was our Estimator/Project Manager (302-415-4075 / Email: Dave@roofers.org ), and our experience from beginning to end was seamless. After the old roof was removed, we were informed that our roof was in worse shape than originally thought, so we needed to replace more wood than initially anticipated, but Dave was awesome and worked with us on that additional cost. :-) One of the most important factors was that ALL AMERICAN ROOFING did not ask for any money up front. They billed us after the project was complete. We highly recommend All American Roofing company for anyone needing their roof replaced. Their name speaks volumes about their service!
Description of Work: Getting a new roof was only because of a small waterspot we noticed on the ceiling in one of the bedrooms, so we had decided to contact a roofer to inspect for us. We had our entire roof replaced less than 20-years ago by a small local company so we knew our roof was in decent shape, or so we thought. We thought we would only need to repair the back of the roof where the small leak had occurred. It wasn't until everything was removed by ALL AMERICAN ROOFING that we were told (and showed) that not only was most of the wood on the back of the house bad, but there were multiple bad spots on the front of the house as well. We were in total shock at that point. We were thankful that we had such a reputable company now working on our home and knew we were in great hands. Steps taken for roof installation: All roofing material had been delivered to our home several days before the project began. A crew of 5-6 people arrived early in the morning and worked non-stop throughout the day (except for a brief moment to have some pizza and soda on-site). It was a beautiful sunny day that day. Removed the old roof at lightning speed. Replaced approx. 40 pieces of rotted wood, laid down the leak barrier, starter shingles, roof protection shingles, attic ventilation and ridge cap shingles. Replace the chimney cap when done Cleaned all the gutters Removed all debris on the ground and canvassed the area with a metal magnet for stray nails also on the ground. I was out there the entire time watching them from beginning to end and they did not miss a beat.

The technician who came out to inspect was very thorough, professional, took his time, and honest with his opinion. He explained in detail where he thought the leak was originating from, and what his company could do to repair. He also explained that there was no guarantee that was the full issue without tearing up shingles and more. If we did do the suggested repair and it didn't work, then one side of the roof would need replacing, but they would discount the work already done. We went ahead with the repair and have seen no more leaks since that time. The crew arrived on date and time expected. They cleaned up afterwards and were very courteous. Price was very fair. Their honesty was much appreciated -- he didn't try to convince us that we had to have a new roof.

All went as expected. Only one follow-up which needed to be addressed and I did not have to pay until the job was done. Bill was sent subsequent to job completion.
Description of Work: AAR did a full roof job. Ripped off old roof and replace with all required GAF roof products. They performed in 1 days starting promptly @ 7AM. The clean up was good with minimal items left. The Vladimir and team was professional and no extra noise or music. I would hire them again. They were a machine, everyone knew what their job was.

I had a very positive experience and when I need roofing work done again, All American will be my first choice.
Description of Work: After a heavy rainstorm, my roof began leaking. After reviewing Angie's List recommendations, I called All American to look at the problem. It was easy to get an appointment. On the scheduled day, at the scheduled time, the representative (Dave, I believe) came by. He quickly assessed the problem (nail pops in the roof and dirty gutters). He fixed the nail pops while on site and didn't charge me a fee....which was truly an unexpected surprise. He told me showed me where the water came in and explained what had happened during the storm.

We had an original estimate done by Brian Liss, the project manager for the job. I must say, he was of the most thorough and detailed contractors I've ever dealt with - very upfront and trustworthy. - After a few estimates we decided to go with All American because of our positive experience with them and their reputation in the community. - Very flexible in pricing and very willing to work with us as far as our needs - We had an attic inspection (very important) prior to the job. We had 3 rafters that had to be replaced - 1 cracked and 2 were rotted. - On the day of the job, they were very thorough, arrived early, and stayed until the roof job was done that night. - The did a complete clean up. - Very professional and excellent work -the county inspector was impressed with their work - Complete new roof, new gutters, all new plywood, 3 rafters replaced, all new pipe collars, and even got 2 bath vents installed on the rooftop - Brian returned a few days later to inspect and make sure all work was done to spec - --- Go with All American - you will not be disappointed. I would definitely recommend them. They were very thorough. They were very upfront and detailed about their services. They had a very detailed approach.

They did an excellent job and were very customer focused (they wanted to be sure I was happy);
Description of Work: We had our old roof that was installed by the builder removed and replaced. All-American was the only company (of the ones who gave us a bid) that knew the existing ridge vent in combination with the existing attic fan would void the warrenty on the GAF shingles. All-American came in at the price quoted and advised us to get our chimney repaired as well. Another important factor: My young teenage daughter was watering the garden when the workers came with the roller magnet (to pickup loose roofing nails in the yard). I watched from about 20 feet way (like a hawk) to make sure they weren't leering at her and I'm pleased to report that they ignored her like she was a blade of grass. This showed me that they understand how important it is to be respectful of the customer.

This company was referred to me by a friend that had her roof done by them. Overall, the experience was excellent. John Devenney was the person in charge of the project. He was the one who originally came out to provide me with estimates, a list of supplies, etc. and I ended up paying a little bit less than what was estimated. They?re a member of the BBB. I didn?t have any problems or complaints. Everything went smoothly and as far as I know, the roofing is excellent. Everyone who looks at it says it?s excellent as well. The shingles that I purchased have a 25 year warranty. I'm happy with their services and I would recommend them.

The estimator was excellent. I felt that he took enough time here to truly understand the scope of the work and even pointed out some other flaws on the house that have to be fixed. However, it took over a week to get just the roofing estimate. I had to call repeatedly (3X) to BEG for the siding estimate. Keep in mind, we were definitely going to use these people. They had done a roofing job in our neighborhood many years ago and we were impressed with their work and professionalism. I finally got the siding estimate. I went back to my insurance company to negotiate for price...they didn't pay us enough for the job. All American had the lowest of 3 estimates that I got. The insurance company tried to get in touch with them without success. I guess they're just really busy or something but WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! I am going to another roofer.

This client is with great disappointment that I am reading your posting on Angie’s list. Brian Liss and his team did this complete installation over a 2 day period. All the work was done in a professional manner and I am very happy with the results. It looks wonderful and clean up was perfect. All work completely followed the origianl estimate with no surprises even after they realized the old exhaust fan need replacing...this was done at no addtional cost. Brian responded to all my requsts, answered all calls and e-mails immediately. No payment was due until all work was completed. This was a great company to deal with and I would recommend them to anyone.

I found many happy reviews about this Company, they have the prestigious Master Elite GAF/ELK Certified Contractor title and the Delaware Better Business Bureau, which they are a member gave them an A rating. For these reasons, I e-mailed the company, received a prompt phone call and was immediately given an appointment for the following day -someone to come to my home, give an estimate to repair some broken rafters. (I just had a new roof put on 9/9/10 for $8,016.00 - that contractor Airborne Siding & Window did not fix the broken rafters, located on my lower roof - I have and upper and lower roof. (That's a subject on another post) Anyway, the representative arrived on time - that is the the most positive thing I can say about that person. When I answered the door, he did not introduce himself, I tried to escort him into the house, I told him I wanted to talk to him about the job and give some details of my concerns, he said "that won't be necessary, I'll just take a look around." I started to walk out the front door, since he didn't come inside and he said, "By myself." A short time passed, he knocked at the door, wanted to come in to get into the attics, I have one at the front and back ends of the house. I waited nearly 35-minutes as he was talking on his cell phone from inside his car, not sure what he was doing, I assumed he was working on my estimate/contract. He finally knocked on the door, asked me to come outside since my dogs he said were annoying him with their barking. I went outside, he handed me a piece of paper and started reading from it at warp speed. "Whoa Nelly, slow down." I said - he wasn't amused nor did he slow down. I had just enough time to see what he had handed me was a written estimate/contract totaling $5,317.00 to fix my rafters, and a very detailed list of what would be done including the exact materials that would be used and where. There were four "optional" work categorized as number one, add an additional $1,776.00 to the $5,317 if I wish the work in this paragraph done as well, option two add an additional $1,890.00 ...etc., brought the total to have all the work on this document done at one time as well as the work required to fix my rafters to a total of $12,905. I interrupted his reading to ask a question "please explain why I may need to consider the work in this Option 1 - you just read to me. Is there a problem I am unaware of with Airborne's work, other than my broken rafters? He became visibly annoyed, and told me "Just let me read this." He continued reading at warp speed, I interrupted him a second time to ask a question, he did not answer my question, rather he said "We should charge for these estimates, I don't know why we don't." I didn't know what to say or do so I said, "Thank you for coming, and I'll look this over and call your office, if I have any questions and I walked inside and closed the door. I immediately looked over the document, I understood the terms, I understood what he wrote. I did understand why the itemized work to fix my rafters totaling $5,000 was needed, I didn't understand why this other "optional work" was listed and/or needed. I phoned his office, explained my experience adding how much I would like to use this Company, but first I need to speak with someone - not the guy that was just here, someone else. I am seeking understanding of the "optional" work in this contract. The woman Denise, apologized and said she would have the Owner phone me. I called again the next day, spoke with Denise, she apologized that the Owner had not phoned me, she would see what she could do to have him call me - as I told her I really wanted to use this Company. The Owner did not phone. I am updating this report, which I previously submitted to clarify my review is based entirely on the rude behavior of the sales rep. and my not receiving my desired call for explanation of the optional work identified in my proposal/contract.
Description of Work: A representative of this Company came to my home to give me an estimate on repairing some broken rafters, to inspect my new roof to identify any areas that would be problematic now or in the reasonable near future, and provide an estimate on fixing those as well.

The crew worked very hard. It was pretty hot for an April day. The work was done efficiently and effectively. The foreman was happy to answer any questions that I had and he encouraged me to take pictures of the work throughout the day. I did go out every hour or two to snap some photos. Steve stopped by during the day to check on progress and realized that the garage should have a vent, so he offered to have one put in virtually free of charge. The roof looks great! I'm so pleased with my decision to use All American.
Description of Work: I had the roof replaced on my house, as well as, the unattached garage and shed. I also had the gutters replaced and needed a couple of pieces of siding repaired. The All American estimate was the lowest. In all honesty, I was hesitant to choose the lowest estimate, but Steve had been straight forward during the bidding process and the Angie's List reviews for the company were very good. So, I went with them and I'm glad that I did.

My roof was leaking and I called several companies for estimates. I was impressed with All American because John was the only one who took the time to go into my attic. He discovered we were wired for a fan and suggested hooking one up for ventilation. He also saw that insulation was blocking my soffit vent and suggested a way to fix it. The companies all had different ideas about ventilation, but I decided, after a lot of research, that John's ideas made the most sense for my roof. I also liked that they offered a 30 year workmanship warranty where the others only offered 5 years. I then decided to add gutter guard to the estimate, and again, I liked John's recommendation. I accepted his proposal on Friday and his crew started work the following Monday. I didn't have my whole roof done, just a low sloping (3:12) section where the leaks were. The two men who did the work were very courteous and professional. John came back a few days later to inspect the job and repair some spots on the part of the roof I didn't replace. What a great guy. I loved working with his office staff too, Debbie and Denise. They were so responsive and soooo nice! I'd like to use them again in 3-5 years when I'll be replacing the rest of the roof. I recommend them without hesitation.
Description of Work: I had a section of my roof replaced. The shingles were stripped, some plywood was replaced, ice and water shield was installed along with new shingles and a fan. I also had leaf guard installed on all the gutters of the house.

They responded quickly to the initial call. The salesperson was knowledgeable and friendly. No high pressure. He was well versed in attic ventilation methods, and suggested several alternatives to my initial plan for number, placement, and type of venting. They are also an authorized agent for Velux skylights (we have 4) - included in the price was upgrading the skylight flashing and waterproofing to current standards. The crew (6 people) showed up before 8 AM on the scheduled day, and completed all work in one day. The saleperson dropped by during the day to check on the progress of the work and make sure any questions were answered. The cleanup was excellent, and completed before the crew left. They even had their own dumpster, with their logo painted on it! They ran short of cap shingles for the ridge vents because the ridge vent on the dormer was a late addition to the plan, but came back the next day to complete. I am extremely happy with both the job and the company. We've already given two referrals to friends who are considering roofing jobs and expect to give many more.
Description of Work: All old shingles removed and replaced; rotted sheathing replaced. Ridge vents added to main roof and dormer roof. Added fixed vents on front side of roof and dormer to improve attic ventilation (house has no soffets) Added solar powered intake fan to improve ventilation of back side of roof. Replaced sheathing around chimney and all existing vents, and drip edge for entire roof.
