Delmarva Tree Service 1070 Black Diamond Rd Smyrna, DE https://m.facebook.com/DelmarvaTree?_rdr This past February I was looking for firewood. Found Delmarva Tree Service on Craigslist, $180 oak delivered. Ordered a cord, Hank delivered on 10 Feb. When he dumped the wood and I questioned the amount, Hank assured me they?d make it right if it was short. He was emphatic that they wanted repeat customers, not just one-time customers. After he left I stacked the wood in a 2DX16WX4H (128 cubic feet) spot, but it only filled 2x10.75X4 spot (86 cubic feet or 67% of a cord). I immediately sent Sherry a picture of the stacked wood with a marker of how wide it needed to be to fill the 16W and she quickly responded (six minutes later) ?I will contact hank an have you down another load to justify?. My response was ?That?s fine?. Dover had a decent amount of snow the rest of the month, so I wasn?t overly concerned about not getting the delivery ? I didn?t ?bug? them ? didn?t really expect them to load/deliver wood in the snow. A month later, on 13 Mar 15, I called and left msg asking about the wood. No response. I texted and asked if she'd rec'd my message and she texted back "yes". That was it. I texted ?and???. No response. 24 Mar 15 -- left another message 15 Apr 15: sent msg on their FB page: Sherry. Contacted you several times about when you can deliver the last third of the cord of firewood I paid for Feb 10th. I questioned Hank about the amount of wood and he was very emphatic during the delivery that you wanted my continued business, not just the one delivery and if there was a problem with the amount to just let you know. After stacking the wood that day, I sent a picture of the stack clearly showing a shortage of 1/3 of the cord. You texted back that you would have Hank deliver another load to finish up. Shortly after that we had a month of snow, so I didn't bother y'all. On March 16th I texted you about a call the previous week again asking about scheduling a delivery. You responded only "yes". I've called a few times since and gotten no answer -- left a couple of messages and had no response. My question is "are y'all planning to complete the delivery of the full cord of wood that I paid $180 for, refund a third of the money for the missing third-cord of wood, or simply stiff me?". She responded on FB about how much she appreciated my patience. Nothing about a delivery. 10 Apr 15; 1539; called left msg. No response. 29 Apr 15; Texted that I would appreciate her getting in touch about the delivery of the rest of the firewood. No response 1 May 15 I texted that I was going to put a review of Delmarva Tree Service on Angie?s List. No response Bottom line: I paid $180 for a cord of wood but rec?d 2/3 a cord. This customer?s satisfaction is obviously not very high. Their communication is mostly non-existent. In my case, getting only 2/3 of what I paid for only cost me $60. If you pay a few thousand dollars for tree service and only get 2/3 of what you pay for, how much would you be out?? I have a friend who has several trees he wants down, but there?s no way I would recommend Delmarva Tree Service. In my opinion, they do NOT want long-time customers. I would not recommend Delmarva Tree Service of Smyrna, DE to a friend. NOTE: I posted the above in my FB timeline on 4 May. I immediately got a text response from Sherry Stiller of Delmarva Tree. She said ?I don?t work on weekends your wood will be there out of 200 cords you are the only person that complained? to which I responded ?Thank you for your response. I may be the only one that measured the cord. You saw the picture?. ?Ok? she texted back. Nothing more heard so on 20 May I texted ?Sherry, how about you guys deliver the rest of the wood you owe my the 10th of June. That gives you some time and it well make it 4 months from when you said you would make it right. I think that?s probably about enough patience?. She replied ?It will be there before then?. ?Thank you? I replied. Nothing heard. On 10 June I texted ?Sherry, today?s the 10th?. Within a couple of minutes she called, said it was ready to go, but could I wait until Monday to deliver it (Monday June 15th). She said they had 18 deaths in the family and among customers. I said okay. On Monday, 15 Jun, I texted (kind of as a reminder), ?Sherry, I have to go out but Hank can leave the wood where he dropped it off last February. Thanks.? to which she prelied ?Ok, I will let him know I?m in the hospital broke the blood vesels in my legs? then sent a picture of her legs. ?Thanks. Sorry to hear about your legs. Time for you to catch a break . . .? I replied. No delivery. On Tuesday, 16 Jun I texted ?I just downloaded a J.P. Civ. Form No. 1. This would be a lot easier if you?d just deliver the wood.?. She replied ?I told you I was bringing you the wood?. My last text was ?Sherry, you?ve been telling me that since February. Friday you asked me if I would give you until Monday. That was yesterday.? -- So, four months, six days later, still no firewood. I?ll file the form for small claims tomorrow. Plan to rate them on Craigslist and Angie?s List. Oh, and I?m still looking for a dependable trustworthy small business that sells firewood.

Incredible job! After a slightly late start due to a miscommunication, they had the tree down in 90 minutes. Branches were put into the chipper, stump was ground, and yard was cleaned up. All the employees were very professional and friendly. If you need yard or tree work done, I would recommend them highly. Work was done as promised at what was an extremely competitive rate to other tree services in the area.
Description of Work: Delmarva Tree Service came and removed an approximately 65-foot pine tree from our front yard, ground down the stump, and removed all the wood.
