+ -1 morewe received a quote from kevin. Set up a day to start planning the project. Still waiting for him 3 days later. No contact, no followup. Very unprofessional. If he didnt want the job just say so, dont pull a no call no show! Very disappointing, we really liked him.

Even though he is based in Smyrna, Delaware he also has regular work in northern Delaware, and I am very happy that he was willing to travel another few miles into Pennsylvania to help me. I contacted Kevin for help to install a new, large tree in my front yard. The new tree was more than I could handle and required some fill soil. Kevin contacted me to set an appointment and he showed up on time with plenty of helpers after having purchased 2 cubic yards of top soil he purchased and transported on my behalf from a local wholesale supplier. He and his crew planted the tree very professionally without any collateral damage to my garden bed and yard. He dumped the remaining top soil exactly where I had requested at the end of my driveway so I could use it easily for ulterior projects.
Description of Work: Acquired 2 cubic yards of topsoil from a local supplier, delivered the soil and installed a new tree in my front yard.

+ -1 moreOverall, the job was well done. Kevin was very helpful and picked up my mulch from the nursery. I do not know anything about weeds and I cannot understand why I had this awful weed problem (explained above) that lasted throughout the summer. Also, when I pointed out to Kevin my concern that some plants were planted too close together, he denied this. Surely this was indeed a problem. However, the garden looked good. Other than the plants that were squeezed out, the plants thrived. The price was very fair compared to other estimates. I wished that Kevin had responded better to the weed issue and to my concern about the spacing of some of the plants. If he had, I would certainly want to use him again.
Description of Work: The above price included: mulch, soaker hoses, labor , removal of 2 or 3 dead bushes. The job included Mulching and planting $680 worth of plants and bushes that were delivered to my home from a nursery.The plants and bushes were planted in front and along the sides of my home. Kevin arrived on time along with a crew of workers. The men worked quite rapidly. There was a design in a diagram to follow . Kevin supervised the men. All in all the job was well done except for the following problems: 1) I noticed that some smaller plants were planted too close to other plants. I called this to Kevin's attention. He assured me that this was no problem . Well, as the plants grew it certainly was a problem and some of these smaller plants got lost underneath other plants. 2) About 2 days after the job was complete, there was a sudden spurt of weeds that pushed up from the mulch in one rather sizeable area of the garden. I called Kevin and he said that he told me that this would happen and it had something to do with birds.. I had no memory of him telling me this. I asked if he had used Preen. He really , in effect, told me that this could not be prevented and I should pull the weeds and use weed killer on the affected area.I followed his instruction, but the weeds kept growing and I was weeding almost daily all summer.

+ -1 moreHe was efficient, he was nice and courteous, and he did a great job. He charged me forty dollar per tree and I was happy with the work he did.
Description of Work: I use A-1 Kevin's Lawn Care for landscaping. The last time he was out here was to put a small tree and a bush.
