Description of Work: Replaced HVAC system. Sales person was excellent in explaining in detail everything, including that the installers would wear booties to protect my carpeted house. The installers showed up on time. However, they did not wear booties. I asked one man why wasn't wearing booties and he said "My shoes aren't dirty." I did not like this disrespectful attitude. The salesman promised that the new unit would match, unlike my previous unit that did not match (different sizes). However, the units didn't match. They did ask me if that was alright because they said the units were the same strength and would be "no difference" in service. I was disappointed because the salesman made a big point of matching the units. Another disappointment was the person installing the outside unit. He smoked his cigarettes when he installed the unit and left his discarded butts outside. He also did not fill in around the hole in the outside wall where he put the hose in. This was the same person who gave me a surly answer when I asked him why he wasn't wearing booties. I called the salesman to inform him of this incomplete job. He didn't send anyone back to correct it. My husband filled in the hole. The same serviceman didn't clean up the wallboard dust after installing the two thermostats inside house. I was disappointed by this unprofessionalism and informed the salesman of the same. He said this particular serviceman was "new". |These were my only complaints with the job. The good news is a supervisor came by later to check the completion of the job and provided good information and improving the airflow in my house, especially my master bedroom on the far side of the house and farthest away from the newly installed furnace. |The bottom line, the new HVAC works excellent.

 + -1 moreIt was 90+ degrees outside and our air conditioning unit went out. Called a repair man and he said the unit was dead and we needed a whole new heat pump. Our unit was too old to fix. The unti was 16 years old so we believed him. Unfortunately he could not replace it for about 2 weeks since he was so busy. Called another company and they said they could send someone out to look at it in about 1 week. Then we called Service Today. Someone came out within an hour. He said he could have a new unit installed in 2 days and he matched the best price I got from the other 2 companies. 2 days later they arrived promptly at 7:30 am and we had cool air by noon. They installed the outside unit without damaging the plants and bushes and they did a beautiful job installing the furnace unit inside and postioned the filter so it is easier to replace. Highly recommended.

 + -1 moreCompany sent out sales person right away. He was professional and responded to all of my questions on replacing the HVAC system. He scheduled appointment right away. A few days later I called the sales person on his cell phone to ask about replacing hot water heater at the same time. He gave me an estimate and work was completed on time. Nice work, with no hassles. They were there when they said they would be and completed the work when promised.
Description of Work: Removed and installed new heat pump and condensor. Replaced electric hot water heater.

 + -1 moreWork completed on time. Units were delivered and onsite so installers could get right to work when they arrived. A/C was up and operational the same day even though there were differing site conditions that contractor had to deal with. Installers started at 7:00AM and did not leave until A/C was up and running which was not until 6:30PM that evening. It was 94 degrees this day. Had many questions during and after installation that were adequately answered by either Comfort Specialist, Company, or installers. Unit has been running fine since installed. The price does not reflect the $1500.00 Fed tax credit which the Furnace qualifies for nor the $400.00 DE rebate program.
Description of Work: Remove old heating and Air Conditioning unit and install new 95% efficient gas furnace and 4 ton A/C made by Trane. This included a new electrical connection, duct modification, condensation pump, re-route new flue pipe and add new air intact pipe and new programmable thermostat, enlarge grill for fresh air return, new supply plenum, new return plenum, low voltage wiring. Out of four proposals they were the second best. Reasons for selecting them, was employee owned company, size of company, pride in their work, 0% financing for 1 full year offered by Wells Fargo, Labor warranty of ten full years plus one free service check during the first year and replacing refrigeration lines instead of using existing ones.

 + 0 moreI'd had used them in the past to repair a water heater. That work had been good - I'd needed that job done fast, A-Okay. So, when I needed another job done- it was no emergency- I called them again.The problem was largely my fault because I had no idea the price would be that much more than the going rate (on a weekday during normal business hours) and I didn't get an hourly quote. Sometimes trying to get the cheapest price equals = no service or bad quality, but I will always get the rate from now on. I was not aware that all there services are based on the "emergency rate". My second job, replacing a hose bib on my outdoor faucet only needed to be on a day I was off. Because I made an appointment for a few days ahead - not DAY SERVICE , they forgot me. When I called, near the end of the day, they still fit me in and the job was good. I would use them again only if a REAL EMERGENCY.

 + -1 moreA service tech was there within two hours and quickly fixed the problem. And because I signed up for a bi-yearly service plan to inspect and service my two heat pump units, I was not charged extra for this visit. The entire $294.00 is the cost of the service plan for my two systems.

 + -1 moreI called from work to schedule service. They offered to come over immediately, but I was not home, so they said they'd send someone over after work (after 3:30pm). The technician arrived at 6:30pm and diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes. The fan motor was bad. He didn't have one with him, so he said he'd come back the next day. He did come back the next day, after work again, and replaced the motor, recharged the refrigerant, and checked that the AC was operating correctly in one hour. When he gave me the bill, he told me that according to their records the motor was still under warrantee, so I only had to pay for labor. This was a surprise because the previous owners purchased the unit.
Description of Work: Replaced fan motor on the compressor unit of my heat pump/air conditioner.

After getting the run around for six months from another company I had a service contract with, and not being able to live in our house all winter, I heard of Service Today; I called, they came out the next day and had my old system out, after a lot of trouble of undoing what my old service company had "fixed," and had my new heat pump installed and complete the next morning (They could have been done in one day if they didn't have to unfix what was there). They also repaired all the duct work and electrical work that had been REPAIRED? They are the best and their service policy was much better than my previous policy and much cheaper. They are the best here in lower slower Delaware where no one is in a hurry no matter what the job.
