Anderson Carpet One Floor & Home

We have had multiple, costly problems due to poor installation, and Anderson now refuses to deal with us. I have an e-mail from the President of Anderson Carpet One telling me that our problems are “incidental and unrelated” to the installation. Several months after the installation, our powder room toilet began to leak from the base of the toilet. A plumber found that the toilet had been improperly re-installed by Anderson after the flooring was put down. The toilet had been installed using the old wax seal (or was not properly seated on a new wax seal) and was not re-bolted to the flange, allowing a leak to form gradually over a period of months. This repair cost us $180. Anderson refuses to accept responsibility, saying it’s been too long since our installation and so therefore can’t be their fault. Our toilet didn’t leak for 20+ years, then got removed and reinstalled by Anderson, and then leaked within a few months. And yet, the problem is “incidental and unrelated”? Around the same time, we got a new dishwasher. Unfortunately, the old dishwasher could not be removed normally because Anderson had installed the floor boards so that they partially covered the feet of the dishwasher, requiring a much more difficult and costly removal. The appliance installer said he had never seen a floor installed so carelessly. Anderson’s installer left food trash behind at our house after the installation (which they admitted when questioned), and they had to come back twice to fix the threshold where it meets the dining room carpet.
