 + 1 moreCalled and he came out to look. Said he would send estimate in a few days. I called a week later and we agreed he would do roof/siding job as time and materials. Three weeks and I have to chase him again? Don't bother.
Description of Work: Roof and siding leak into wall. He said they do this all the time.

 + 0 moreGreat. I never have any complaints about Mike except that sometimes he's too busy. However, when he commits to a project, it gets done professionally and in a timely way.
Description of Work: Mike did so much for us it's hard to remember it all. He previously did work for us in our first beach house in Rehoboth and was extremely professional and honest. When we purchased a second beach home that needed cosmetic work done fairly quickly, he was there the day after closing and repainted most of the inside of the house, installed fixtures, changed out shutters and hung art work.

 + 2 moreSince the repair was completed 5 months ago we have encountered some very heavy rain storms with no signs of leaks. Mike used dropcloths and ensured everything was cleaned up after his work each day. Very professional work!
Description of Work: Mike replaced the roof flashing on a dormer then repaired and painted the leak damaged area of drywall inside.

 + -1 moreThere was a lot of coordination with respect to the Dishwasher. I bought a new dishwasher over the phone local to the condo. Mike Harbach picked it up the next morning and took it to the condo to install it. However, upon inspection he found that the water supply had been turned off to the old dishwasher. He turned the water supply on and inspected the unit and it worked fine. He then took the new dishwasher back to the supplier and got me a credit for more than $800. Mike was very responsive to numerous phone calls to coordinate this effort. Also, when it became apparent that I needed to replace a dryer, Mike was very responsive to my phone calls to assist in that effort. Mike is a good guy who is very easy to work with.
Description of Work: He was prepared to install a new dishwasher in a rented condo, but upon inspection he found that the water supply had been turned off. He turned the water supply on and inspected the unit and it worked fine. He saved me more than $800, the price of a new dishwasher. He also helped me move in a new clothes dryer and he took the old clothes dryer away.

He did what he said he would do and worked in a very professional manner. He kept everything clean and also kept a drop cloth. He was very professional.

 + -1 moreI called Mike early in June to see about having some work done on a couple of doors and also to have a door wrapped to prevent rotting....Mike was very prompt in coming over, which was great....From there it was down hill....He asked for my email so that he could give me quotes on a couple of ways we could perhaps do the job....I never heard from him again....If a contractor can't or does not want to do the job, I would rather them tell me up front....There is no excuse for not getting back to the perspective customer....

 + -1 moreHe seemed good but his prices were too high. The quoted price was about $4,400 and he took a really long time to get back to me. I emailed and called him and he said he was going to send me the estimate that night but then it would take about four more days. I eventually decided to go with someone else. He was fine about showing up to review the job in order to prepare an estimate.

 + -1 moreMike Harbach responded quickly to our request for a painting estimate for our condo in Rehoboth Beach. He met us at the condo on November 24 where we reviewed what we wanted done. On December 2 I followed up with Mike via e-mail to get the status on the estimate. He replied on December 5 and said that he was having computer problems and was also very busy. He promised to send out the estimate within a few days. We never received the estimate and ended up going with another contractor who completed the job on January 9.

 + 2 moreSo far, things are going well. The quality of the work is very good and Mike is very nice to deal with. He is, however, very busy. The projects were completed but there was a time lag. However we are continuing to use him.
Description of Work: We have had Mike undertake several projects at our beach house. He built a cabinet around our bathroom commode, built a backyard shower stall, and put in a stone walkway between our back porch and the outdoor shower. More recently, he painted our garage and installed shelves for storage. This week, he is installing beadboard and chair rails in our kitchen as well as doing some painting.

 + 0 moreMike came right away when called and gave me an estimate that was very reasonable. He came within the week as we agreed and repaired them items working with two other men. They were all courteous and hard working. I was MOST impressed with both the work and with the people involved. In addition, his fee remained the same even though there was a complication with the air conditioner (the company sent the wrong one) and he needed to return a second day.
Description of Work: I had a variety of things that needed repair: broken deck rail, broken board in the outdoor shower, boards from our walkway, wall air conditioner installed, ceiling fan installed.

We told him what we wanted and he took measurements. He was to have returned 2 days later with an employee who would render a 3D image of our proposed sunroom using a computer program. He has neither returned nor called.

 + -1 moreWe had ordered the shelves online, and he installed them exactly as we wanted, at an excellent price given the amount of time involved. Price was what he had estimated. It took about 6 weeks from the time we had contacted Mike for him to do the installation. However, Mike always responded promptly to phone calls and did explain that he was in the middle of a number of large jobs, and would work us in when he could. He was a man of his word, and performed the work on a Sunday. Should we need further work done on our house he will be our first call.
Description of Work: Mike Harbach installed ceiling shelves in our garage. Given the limited space due to garage configuration and ceiling height, and the amount of weight that these shelves are to hold, proper installation through anchoring in the ceiling studs was essential.

Description of Work: I checked Angies list for a plumber for a toilet that continue to run. The first person I called was unable to arrive for a few days. I was leaving the house in the next 24hrs and wouldnot be returning for some time. I called and spoke with Mike, he gave me an estimated time of arrival...then called again to inform me he would be later than expected. He came in, completed the job. Friendly, explained the work he had completed and cleaned up after his work.

I must admit that I found additional small repairs that needed his attention, and he was happy to add them. I plan to use his services again this summer and will certainly call him if/when bigger repairs are needed.
Description of Work: I called for a variety of things that needed attention: a broken railing on my deck, loose and broken boards in my shower and walkway, an attic ladder and a ceiling fan.

 + 17 moreTrying to tackle a renovation project out of state seemed overwhelming at first. Mike made it a breeze with great communication and a great crew. I didn't have to worry about a thing. Even my neighbors called me to say they were impressed that the crew was working evenings and weekends to complete the job on time even though I wasn't there to oversee them. They also made sure the house was spotless when they left on the last day. I would recommend Mike for any job, large or small.
Description of Work: Mike renovated our 1930's beach house from top to bottom! He was very knowledgable on the wide variety of things needed to be done and had great suggestions. He oversaw the entire project from plumbing to electrical work, on a tight time schedule and on budget. This project included new electrical throughout the house, new lighting, gutting and remodeling a bathroom, tearing up linoleum, sanding and repairing original hardwood floors, re-plumbing the house, installing new water heater, installing new kitchen floors, appliances, countertops and restoring original kitchen cabinets. Repairing siding, power washing and staining deck, retrofitting and installing vintage doors, locks, and hinges. Repairing windows. Basically, anything you can think of. It was nice that Mike could handle it all!

Description of Work: Mike was not only responsive quickly, but friendly, knowledgeable, and was able to fix the immediate problem on the spot and efficient and inexpensively. He could have easily taken advantage of the situation with an expensive option, but did not. I called him back for a different reason, to which he also quickly responded and plans to come soon to estimate and devlop options for that problem. I've had many contact with many contractors, and Mike's integrity and honesty and skills really impressed me. I'll be using him again and will be recommending him highly to others.

 + 4 moreMike was very prompt in answering our first call and came right over to see the scope of the work. We were provided a detailed estimate of the work involved. We accepted the estimate and set a work start date. Mike was delayed during the work in progress because of the rainy weather. He had to keep waiting for the areas to dry out so he could continue. Mike made good suggestions on some of the materials so that the end result looks great. Actually, better than expected. If he said he'd be here - he was. If, for some reason, he couldn't make it - he'd let me know. He was great to work with from start to finish.
Description of Work: We needed a bunch of small things done on the exterior of the house. Repairing rotted wood, repairing windows, putting new cedar shingles on a front section of the house, repairing exterior door water damage.
