found this company via internet. They were local and could come out the next day, 11/17/17. We thought we'd found a "winner." No one showed. I left a message at 4:30 pm and my spouse called Monday morning, 11/20/17. "Mike" told him their computer system was down and that was why no one came. The repair man came out, took one look at the error code, opened the dishwasher and that was it. He did not pull it out, or take off the bottom panel. He told my husband the error code indicated the dishwasher needed a new motor. It would be $385.00 and he needed a $200.00 today to order the part. My husband came him a check. Unknown to my husband, I had previously looked up the error code definition : a clogged line somewhere. Turns out the repair man had arrived in his own car, with no logo. When my husband asked him about his truck, he said it was "down today." The invoice had a slightly different company name and totally different phone number from the internet. I suspected a scam; the dishwasher ran, it simply did not drain. Also, we've never been asked to pay in advance for a repair company to order a part. When I tried to find the address via reverse directories, a landline was indicated, but no address. When I googled the PA number from the invoice, "Howard Appliances" and a page of complaints came up. We contacted our bank and cancelled the check. We called "Sub Zero Pros" or "Subzero Professionals" and told them so. We indicated we were getting a second opinion due to the error code message. "Mike" said that "wasn't fair" because he had already ordered the part, and that the error code did in fact indicate a new motor was needed. For us there were too many inconsistencies to feel confident enough to spend money on this repair company.
