Every thing went reasonably well. They mixed a color to get the stain I wanted. Customer needs to move all furniture out. They do not do stair railings or touch up base boards or paint shoe moldings. The floors look great although they do seem to scratch or mark easily. I had to do quite a lot of touch up on baseboards due to stain on them, so be prepared for this. They also got some stain on the wall which needed to be re-painted, but they worked with me and made it right. They are good and very concerned that you are happy with the final product.

The work was beautifully done, Ed Varnes was extremely prompt and thorough in communications prior to, during and after the project. He came in person to discuss details, process and color choices. He custom-blended 2 stains for us which resulted in exactly the color I wanted. His son Aaron and his crew did the actual work and were also informative, very polite and considerate. We had to replace a few boards due to deep staining but Aaron and I discussed each area after sanding and we were able to salvage as much of the original wood as possible, which is what I wanted. MUCH less dust than I anticipated, and extremely minimal retouching of baseboards needed. I did not price compare as friends had "vetted" floor refinishers a few years ago and they went with Varnes (and their floor, 3 to 4 years later, looked like it had just been refinished last week). HIghest recommendation.

Ed's team did a great job. They were punctual, did quality work and cleaned up when they were done. This is the 4th time I have used Ed. I highly recommend him.

We were very satisfied with the work. The work crew was always punctual and did quality work. They removed the old carpeting and installed 3/4 inch prefinished hardwood floor in our master bedroom and hallway. They encountered an area where the floor was very uneven. Ed came on site to inspect the problem and quickly determined how to resolve it. Overall we were very satisfiled with the work. We also used Ed about 10 years ago to install hardwood floor in our kitchen and to refinish the dining room floor. We were very satisfield with the work.

They did an amazing job, matched the handrail and the mess was minimal.
