Early this spring we had a pipe freeze on a hose bob. We had Boulden Brothers come out. They said that they could not access the pipes from the house but would have to have a hole cut through the stucco to replace the hose bib. We were told that when they returned someone else would have to cut the hole and they would replace it with the original service call counting for the labor payment. We waited until summer and then had them come out. We had already paid another contractor $500 to cut the Jole and the repair the stucco. All that Boulden had to do was replace the hose bib. When we were sent the invoice it was for $969.00. After at least six phone calls I was able to get that bill itemized. 281 freeze proof faucet 124 water gas flu fittings 564 difficult access When I questioned the "difficult access" charge, the plumber told me he had to use only one hand to get to some pipe. Seriously? For that I am charges an extra $564?? We have used Boulden for many jobs over the years. The last time I had a leaky faucet they didn't say "Hey, this only took me five minutes so I'm only going to charge you $50 instead of $200. " I fee like we have been dealt with dishonestly. No matter what I said nobody listened or cared. I believe we were taken advantage of. He did NOT get a signature before the work was completed. He only got two signatures AFTER the work was done and he was charging an extra $569. I will NEVER use Boulden Brothers again. Nancy Winn
