Description of Work: We needed a roof. Booked our appointment on Angie's web and never received a call back. After waiting about 2 weeks we finally called them and book a appointment. The appointment was canceled due to the weather and we were told that someone would call us back to reschedule. Again no one called us back. We called them and reschedule. When we first made the appointment we told the customer service we were also interested in doors. When the representative came out he told us that he was not informed that we also were interested in doors. He did have information on the doors which he left with us and took his time and explained to us how Advance would installed our door (if we chose them). Randy (sales rep) was very professional. We really wanted Advance to install our door but do not know if we will deal with them again because each time we had to call them. We did not choose them to install the roof because they were $500 more than Ferris Co. I picked yes I would use them in the future because your choices are either yes or no but to tell you the truth I don't know if I would or not.

Description of Work: NOTHING. I CALLED Advanced approximately July 10th or 17th. An appointment was made for the following Wednesday or Friday depending on the weather (rain). On Wednesday there was no rain. I did not hear from them. I waited until the following Monday to call. I left a message asking whether they had come. I believe it was the answering service that answered the call. I asked that someone call me and let me know if anyone went out and what the result was. I never heard from them and I believe I know why. At any rate, I will spread word to the neighbors who not to call to fix their roof.

Description of Work: Estimate - overall gave decent information but never got the follow up email with list of other customers they had done work for in my area. Guy smelled of smoke also.

Description of Work: Advance came on a day after it snowed to give an estimate and said they couldn't give an estimate because of the snow. Said they would call in a few days to reschedule- but never did.

Description of Work: Tried to source and fix water leak on a new flat TOP roof. Technician claimed to have found the source of leak and caulked to approprate areas where the flashing was installed around the chimney. Unfortunately this DID NOT stop the leak. An ulturnative plan was to replace the new flashing with anther for $1,400. This was not deemed to be a feasible investment since the first assessment and cure was ineffective....and of course no warranty was offered on repair work.

Description of Work: This company pulled a no-show, I am extremely upset at the way this was handled, especially since money has already changed hands. We paid $129 to have a flat roof inspection and up to four repairs made. My appointment was for today, 9/8, at noon. I received an email at 10:30 which said that the consultant couldn't make it until 1:30, did I want to reschedule to an evening? I wrote back to say no, 1 or 1:30 was fine, I was waiting. The company in the email claimed that Angie's List has the wrong number listed for me. (For the record the correct contact phone number for Jonathan Pappas is 917 543 6771.) I called and emailed twice, received nothing back after that one email. I never heard back from the office or from a consultant. As I write this it is 3:30 on the day of the appointment, and my own day has been wasted. The experience went as badly as it could have, and as a result I have much less confidence in the Angie's List service. Best, Jonathan Pappas

Description of Work: I thought some repairs were in the 129.00 price. He told me what he thought should be done but really didn't do anything. Gave me an estimate of 1700.00 to repair. called someone else and had it done for 270.00 and coated.

Description of Work: They came to my house to give an estimate. The estimate went well and the person who did the estimate seemed knowledgable about the windows and how to install the windows. The salesperson made a follow up appt. for 6/11/12 at 6:00pm. He never showed up to the appt. and never called. I called Advance the next morning and still have not heard back from the salesperson or another person from the business. We organized our night around the appt., and they didn't have the decency to call before or after the missed appt. I do not have you confused with another company.

Description of Work: I had an inspection and patch job on one house and inspection on another house. It was a roof inspection and repair. One of my roofs could not be repaired/patched. it needs to be replaced. The workmen were very professional and friendly. However they were more than 30 minutes late. There was also a big mix up with my schedule time in the office. I have to wait for a price on one of my roofs.

My first appointment was canceled due to a personal matter that the person who was supposed to come out to my home encountered; that was fine, I understood the need to reschedule. On the day of the rescheduled appointment I took an extended lunch from work just to make sure I was available for the appointment. After waiting for almost an hour, I decided to call to see what was going on. When I called I was told that the person who was supposed to come out to my home got tied up in another job and would be 2-4 hours late. I never even received a courtesy call from anyone letting me know this. I told the representative that I had to get back to work but the person could still come out to perform the job and she said that was fine and that I would get a report and pictures of the work done to the outside of my home. I t has been over a week and I never received a follow up phone call, report, or any pictures of anything that was done to the exterior of my home. This company needs to work on a few things. I cannot grade the quality of the work because I have no clue what was actually done to my home.
