Advance Roofing Windows Siding & Doors

From the initial contact by Roland for an estimate through Shawn, Dave, Jake and Alex's team the experience was great. They installed back and front entry doors and back and front storm doors, replaced two windows and installed a 5 ft sliding glass door in their place, built a 16x14 ft Trex deck, replaced siding on dormer and front of house, replaced all gutters downspouts, fascia board replacement and installation of an awning to cover the new deck. The Advance crew went above and beyond my expectations. One more thing, the awning was torn last summer when I tried to manually retract it and it got caught in the roller mechanism. I contacted Advance as I couldn't fully retract the awning without ripping the awning further. Advance took down the awning and will be replacing and reinstalling it this Friday. As an added bonus, since I had to wait for the new awning Advance added a motorized retractor and remote for my troubles. I no longer have to worry about getting the awning stuck and torn in the future. Thanks Advance for all the hard work! I love how you transformed the look of my home. Very satisfied customer here!

We contacted Advance about replacing a large picture window as well as 6 other sash windows. Rep came out and was really friendly, very professional-my only issue and the reason for a somewhat negative review, is that they were supposed to email me a quote and never did. Maybe they had my email wrong, not sure but never heard from them again. I most likely would have hired them.

We are a former customer of this company. We had them replace our roof in 2012 and are very happy with the job they did. We did not hesitate to call them back to have them replace /cap the external house trim with vinyl (on soffits) aluminum (for Rack and other wood surfaces). The sales consultant right away mentioned that he would give us an estimate right than and there, at a lower price, if we signed a contract, but the price would be higher if we didn't agree to a contract right away. After evaluating the job and taking measurements, the consultant had us try to guess what the price for this work would be. Next he showed us a price on a yellow scratch pad that we could have right then, but if we didn't agree to a contract right then, the price would be significantly higher. When we refused to sign a contract, he gave us a flyer of the company and on the back of that he wrote the higher price for the job and told us to call him if we wanted them to do the job. He mentioned several times about the cost to the company for him to come out and give an estimate but never considered the cost, of our time (the customer) my wife and I for taking off from work to meet with him. I was insulted with the idea that he would play games with us in making us guess at the cost of the job. He did not produce a written itemize detailed description list for the job or a quote. With no written itemized quote and description we have nothing to examine. This pressure tactic with the pricing infuriated both me and my wife TO NO END. How dare this company send someone to my home to waste our time and do nothing but run his mouth and leave us with nothing more than a flyer, no estimate, no quote or description. WHAT A WASTE OF OUR TIME.

They took the old piece off, put up a new one on the same day, and did quality work. The service was great, the salesman was fine; everything was on the up-and-up.

Met with Gary about the 10 windows for $3495 deal I saw on the local billboards. He measured and said it was a 6-8 week install date. Gave deposit. I added to the order for the grills to be in the windows so my price was slightly higher but super reasonable. Scheduled my date and then they called saying they could move my date up by 2 weeks to 10/21. The two man crew were incredible. On time busy working from the time they arrived. The place was spotless when they left!!! Other than seeing the beautiful craftmenship of the windows, exterior wrap and caulking you would never know they were ever there!!!!! Amazing deal, amazing company and I would most definately recommend Advanced!!!!!

The salesman came with no issues, the meeting went well and I received a verbal quote on the work. In fact I had 4 companies out and narrowed it down to 2 with Advance as the front runner. Unfortunately I never received the written estimate and my emails and calls requesting the information were never returned. I wasn't going to beg someone to take my money so I purchased elsewhere.

They were very helpful and explained the process to us.

Initially we called two (different) contractors to come out and look. They agreed that the temperature and humidity was not supposed to be this bad. The second noted two issues; the bathrooms vent into the attic space but not out through the roof and the gable vents should be closed. Upon closer inspection he also stated that the gap in the roof vents were 1.5" on one side and only 0.5 on the other. In his experience they should be the same. He also said he couldn't be sure, but the smart vents could also be installed too close to the edge, but it would need some shingles removed to inspect. We ended up calling Advance to report the issues under the warranty. The customer services representative was polite and agreed to have someone come out to take a look. At this stage we were happy. Unfortunately the representative they sent round could not have been more disinterested and unhelpful if he tried. Firstly he wouldn't even go up into the attic, and had to be pushed (almost literally) to get up there to inspect. In response to the points raised above he simply remarked that "they were open" (referring to the ridge vent) and he would have to charge us for inspecting the smart vents. Throughout the visit he was lazy, disinterested, dismissive and condescending. He remarked that it was hot in the attic "because it was summer". It would seem as though Advance will hold no responsibility for their work and offer not suggestions, advice or information towards the obvious issue we have. This was a representative of the company and as far as representative first impressions go, this showed me a company with little respect for their customers, poor knowledge of the industry and from what we can tell a sub-par product and installation. What are warranties for if the contractor simply denies an issue with little or no detail.

boy did i not realize how much i didn't know about windows. they fixed some rotted wood and installed two windows. They are junk but i didn't realize it when they were installed. So much more careful about window guys now. Would never use them again.

I had a terrible time finding a company to take this project and Advance was one of the last calls I made. Right from the beginning they were professional and helpful; many other companies either blew me off when I tried to explain the job or never called back if I left a message. The estimator they sent out was really good, he took his time and really thought everything through; he asked a lot of questions which I really appreciated. The job took a day and the crew was professional and thorough. They had to work both inside and outside the house and they were respectful of our property and time. The windows look great and I was so happy with them that I recommended them to my next door neighbor when she had the same problems with her dormer windows.

I have to admit that I was a bit surprised that only one guy came out for the installation but my fears were gone once he started and I saw how efficient he was. For the second 5 windows 4 guys came out and surprisingly took longer than the one guy but I am very pleased with the job they did. I wish I could remember the exact dates but this is my second winter with the windows and I've been able to turn my thermostat down a couple notches and my heating bill is substantially lower.

Very professional, and Everything I expected !

I've used the company several times for things such as carpentry and windows in addition to siding. In all situations, they've been very professional and straightforward, they consistently do quality work for reasonable prices, and they always seem to go above and beyond to make sure that I'm happy with their services.

We had damage to our 21 year old roof, gutters, downspouts and aluminum capping from a hailstorm. Early on we decided to only repair the roof including replacing 3 skylights at this time and to do the rest of the repair work in another job later. We interviewed 8 roofers because we were finding it difficult to find an architectural shingle we liked (they've gotten very busy looking which we felt wouldn't look good with our varicolored stone façade) and received bids from 5 roofers. We did not choose Advance to replace our roof. Rodney Fisher, our salesperson, did a good job presenting the company and discussing our particular roofing job and prepared a detailed estimate. The pricing was in the middle of our estimates. Rodney was responsive to our questions. And to his credit, when we said we were going with another roofer Rodney asked how he could improve ? I respect that. A key reason that we did not work with Advance Roofing is that we could not find a brown shingle that we liked (as much as another brand) from their key shingle supplier (notably Owens Corning for which they are a Platinum Preferred installer which gets you the best warranty from the manufacturer). Another concern is that Rodney recommended that instead of a roof ridge vent, we could install an ?attic fan?, otherwise he felt we needed more soffit vents where other roofers said that wasn't necessary since all are soffits are already vented. That would have raised his price another $4,700 making the quote one of the highest. Other highly rated roofers we talked to said that attic fans can sometimes change the pressure of exhaust for furnaces etc. due to their air draw and can pull exhaust gases into the living space ? also that attic fans do not evacuate a attic?s area evenly. I haven't researched to see if this is true, but in any case, the recommendation of an attic fan to us was not a positive thing and the logic of the other roofer's opinions rang true for us.

Just wanted the shingles replace to get through the winter and will look at replacing the roof in the spring

The work went good! Luv my new doors. They responded quickly when the handle came off the storm door. The owner actually came out to look at it and it was replaced the same day.

Our 6 skylights were leaking and our entire roof was in need of repair. I wanted motorized shades for 4 of the skylights and motorized openers for 2 of those 4 skylights in our Great Room. A skylight specialist came to the house and provided literature and explained the process they use to replace the roof. Their price was nearly identical to 2 other estimates and they had the advantage of having a skylight specialist who was going to oversee the installation of the 6 skylights. They also gave a 10% discount if we paid the bill in full within 10 days of receiving the invoice : ) Rainy weather caused a delay in the original installation date, but the scheduler kept in close contact and the roofers showed up on the date promised. I was not present for the actual roofing job; my adult son was. He said many men showed up to remove the roof and put all the debris in a dumpster. Because I wasn't there, I'm not sure of the timing of the events, but they finished in 2-3 days as promised. When I returned, there were very few nails and debris in my numerous gardens that surround the house. No landscaping was damaged, no cigarette butts were left, and the roof and skylights look amazing! I love the solar-powered skylights they installed and have eliminated those cold drafts by having insulated solar-powered shades in them. I love how I can selectively open and close the shades and raise and lower the windows of the skylights for optimal temperature and fresh air. Lastly, I had a small area of shingles that needed to be repaired on my barn that they did for no cost. Great job!

It went fine, I would recommend them.

Why the lousy rating? We've had them to our house twice to assess damage from a hail storm. They scheduled an appointment with my insurance adjuster and me and didn't show up and I feel this cost us. Advanced agreed that our newer roof will need replacement, but they did not feel our aluminum siding was damaged. We trusted them ... until my neighbor's contractor offered to look at our house. He brought a very bright lantern and shined it on the side of the house and showed us all the hail dents. The work this company does is very good and they deserved a call so that they could comment. My call was answered by the same salesman who hasn't been sending the requested estimates and he smart-mouthed me and told me to go use my neighbor's contractor. I'm a nice person and treat contractors respectfully, this was so unprofessional. Maybe he did this because I'm a woman, I'm certain he would not have spoken to my husband this way.

I needed a repair on one of my windows. I contacted several businesses with good ratings and very few handled the minor work I needed. When I contacted Advance, their service contact was out of the office until the following week, but they said they do all kinds of repairs (big and small), so I left a message. I received a return call the following week, but was not home to answer the call. I returned the message three times and never received another call back. Even they do eventually call back, I would not even request an estimate from them for the work. The inability to return a call says a lot about a business. I would not recommend tehm for any type of work.

We're very happy with what they did, the product that they brought and we have no complaints whatsoever. In fact, I took their own business cards around to other people. It's fabulous. They were very warm, personable and outgoing. You could trust them. I believe I have confidence, if they will feel that they could trust anybody they got at least to have confidence in these people. I invited them to come for a single window and the doors. They were very good. The gentlemen were very cordial and respectful, considerate the fact that I just had them floors put in and they did a very very good job. They did a clean up job that was outstanding. My neighbors couldn't believe how well they cleaned up. They were right on time.

We decided to go with another vendor because we liked their product better. The one thing I did not like about Advance was the hard sell meaning you get another discount if you sign that day. He also didn't leave any paperwork for comparison he just wrote a quote on a piece of paper. The other thing that I did not like was he spoke negatively about his competitors whenever someone does that I become suspicious of them.

The guys showed up and were quick to finish the job, they did an excellent job of installing the new siding and had to work in very tight areas, since we lived in a row house with a small back area.

They were fine. We didn’t have any problems at all. They were excellent.
