Advance Roofing Windows Siding & Doors

The only problem I had was getting someone to call me back or respond to my email. It took about 5 tries for someone to get back to me. This is why I give them a C for responsiveness. Nobody answered my email and when I left voice messages at the company number, I never heard back from them. I finally called Joe on his cell phone and he did call me back and made sure to make an appointment and have someone come as soon as it was possible. I am happy with the results.

I do not want to talk too bad about this company because the service happened months ago. However ther are two things I remember one, the guy forgot about the appointment when I called he did come and I was home working around the house anyway so no big deal. Two, and of more importance is I have a two level roof. He went on the first level and assessed I only had one layer of shingles. The same day I was getting an attic fan installed. The installer informed me that I had two layers on the top much larger roof. Anyone that has done any research on roof repair/replacement knows that the nmber of current layers drastically changes the estimate cost. That was an issue but I will say other than that he was very informative. He did go up in the attic and point out some good things for me. You'll have to assess for yourself if these things are "just a bad day" or an indication of bigger concerns.

Everything was fine. They did have to mail the paperwork to me but the work itself was fine.

They were about 3 hours late, but the office confirmed that he was still coming for our appointment. He didn't find any problems, and we haven't had any leaks. We did ask for a quote about how much it would cost to have the roof coated but we never back.

He was good. He was punctual and came out when he said he would.

They were professorial and honest and said I not need to do the work. They suggested I get a refund.

I have nothing negative to say about the company. They delivered exactly what the deal said they would.

I would not recommend them to anyone. I found local guys that are not on your list that are much more reputable and they have proven their work. Those are the ones that I would recommend. What I didn't like was that they made it sound as if they are just giving it away. That is the way they came across to me. They responded fairly quickly. But I would never use them.

The estimate was very expensive. They didn't give a discount from Angies List like they said they would.

They were the worst company I have dealt with. They took a down payment and were to return later to perform the work. I called several times but they could not find my order. They never completed the work or followed up with my phone calls. They had a lot of excuses. It took over three months and finally I got my money back. I would never do business with them again.

Went with another vendor for a lower price.

The quote was about $1500 lower than another quote I received. In the end, I did not need to get the roof done as the repair that was provided through this deal actually fixed the leak!

The experience overall went very well. Everything was cleaned up when they were done, worked very efficiently from the time they arrived.

I found a deal on Angie's List to get my home winterized for $169 last November. I called to set an appointment and the vendor rescheduled a couple of times. After the second reschedule someone was able to come out to the house in early December, but do to rain they understandably couldn't perform the service. The contractor that showed up to the house was a good guy and very respectful. They rescheduled for a couple weeks later I then received a phone call to reschedule not mentioning a time frame. The vendor went crickets through the holidays until I reached out to them in January. I left a message and no one returned my call. Next thing you know it's February and I still don't hear anything. We're towards the end of winter, so I called Angie's List whom refunded my money.

We purchased this BigDeal for a rental property we own in the City of Wilmington. Responsiveness was a bit slow - it took two or three emails after purchasing this BigDeal to get a response. That being said, everything from there forward was handled very professionally. We agreed on an appointment date and time and the service technician arrived at the appointed time and hour. In addition to the flat roof, this home also has a small tile roof to the front of the property which had a broken/loose tile. The technician replaced the broken tile (we provided the replacement) for a small additional charge and sealed two roof penetrations. He missed or overlooked a third roof penetration - possibly because the third penetration exited the roof directly above the firewall between our unit and the adjoining, 2nd half of this duplex. The technician seemed knowledgeable and professional. He provided good information on the existing condition of the roof. Technician subsequently provided in a timely fashion a quote, as we requested, for coating and also replacing the flat roof.

I expected a little bit more but overall they did a good job caulking the windows and doors. They also pointed out a few other issues I may have in the future and inquiries about future work.

Very happy with the result, where he found deteriorazation of the rubber/caulk around the vents, he went ahead and fixed it.

i am very, very displeased with this company. I will never use them for anything again, nor will I recommend them to anyone.The entire experience has left me uneasy and afraid. I no longer trust the validity of Angie's List super service award.

The salesman, Spencer Malcom, was very helpful and professional, and Advance came in with the lowest price. Unfortunately, we had already signed a contract with another company and my husband felt we were obligated. The other company agreed to lower their price and split the difference between their original estimate and the Advance price.

Rep. Bill - thorough inspection & cleaning

A company rep was soliciting door to door. He asked if I was considering having work done, and I mentioned my need to replace my roof soon. He arranged for someone else to come by to give me an estimate, and gave me a coupon for 20% off the work. That second person took almost an hour to look around and assess the situation, very thoroughly. He then wrote up an estimate. When I told him that it was far above any previous estimate I had gotten, he noted that he hadn't yet taken off the 20% from the coupon; after he did, the cost still ended up being >15% above the estimate I'd gotten from another highly rated roofing company. He later called back with an even lower estimate, but it still was almost 10% above the other one I had gotten, and for a slightly less complete replacement. I might consider going with this company based on the thorough assessment the person did, but I did not like their somewhat pushy sales approach. This confirms for me, based on previous experience, that companies that solicit door to door generally apply the hard-sell method.

A lot of attention during pre-sales and during work, but little attention after work completed. No follow up.

In addition to Advance, we called P.J. Fitzpatrick and Impriano for estimates. Although Advance gave us the lowest estimate for the windows, our decision to go with them for everything was based on other factors. For the roofing, the Advance rep was the only one to actually go inside the shed and into the attics over the house and garage to look at the inside and check things out. Spencer, our rep, found a problem where a bathroom vent had been "shingled" over and was venting moisture into the attic. He included this in the estimate to be fixed as well as removing the insulation from the garage attic. For the windows, Advance was the only company of the three that replaces the windows from the outside, with minimal or no damage to the inside of the house. (We had no damage.) Since we have recently moved into the house and had the inside painted, we were not keen to have walls and sills patched up and repainted. This was a BIG factor in choosing Advance. Again, for the windows, all three offer "good," "better," and "best" windows, a label mostly based on the warranty not the quality. We went with Advance's "better" windows because the warranty suited us.Spencer made suggestions on saving money; for example, the window in our vestibule was a sash window. Since we will never open this window, we took Spencer's suggestion of replacing it with a non-sash window. Gina scheduled the work when the windows were ready and respected our request to wait a week until baby cardinals nesting right outside our kitchen window fledged. The roofing guys worked around bad weather on the first day, removing the garage insulation and doing what they could on the inside. The windows took two days, and rather than rush the slider doors, the guys came back a third day to finish. Everyone was polite and professional and a pleasure to deal with. The project manager came by several times to check on things. There was a problem with 3 sashes and they have been replaced--no hassle! We are satisfied with the roofing repairs. And finally, because we are Angie's List members we got a 20% discount each on the price of the windows, the roofing, and the slider doors. (But I have to mention that both P.J. Fitzpatrick and Impriano said they were willing to "work" with us on the estimate for the windows, if we wanted. We didn't want to because they work on the inside.)

Initial contact was uneventful, but follow up contact disappointing.The estimate given was for $69,000 without any cost breakdown whatsoever. After contacting Joe Bailey twice, I received an email response with a very rudimentary breakdown, and not a detailed proposal as requested on company letterhead. We decided to go with another company who had no problem giving detailed answers to my questions. After several attempts to coordinate getting someone to pick up the samples left behind at our house (a full window and 2 large duffle bags of siding) , we finally gave up. I found this conduct to be unprofessional and told the salesman so. I received some inappropriate texts back. I am an Angie's List member and cannot recommend this company.
