I bought one of Angie's special deals and it covered nearly everything that was done. I had leaking in two upstairs rooms and the repairman found exactly where the leaking was coming from and made suggestions to fix everything while giving me some options for levels of repair. Very helpful and easy to work with. Definitely would recommend this company to others and would use again when roof problems occur.

I was pleased with the company, overall, but our first appointment had to be rescheduled because the individual was double-booked and then he was late to the re-booked appointment. I didn't hire them though, because I hired a company that was more informative and more customer service wary for a lower estimate.

They, clearly, had more calls than they could handle on a Big Deal by Angie's List. When I called, they were very pleasant, but hard-pressed to get me in. When the young guy came out, it was almost dark and he was rushed. He slapped caulk on and left in under an hour. Recently, when I had someone up to look at my windows (for replacement) they asked me who did such a [really bad - they used profanity] job on caulking. It was huge globs of caulk, that were not even or at all done carefully. I can tell you that I didn't even bother calling them back to fix it because I didn't know about it until someone was looking at my windows upstairs. I know that the "weatherproofing" didn't work, since I have drafts from those very windows that were "done." I paid 169 for one hour of bad work. Not cool.

Spencer showed up on time for the estimate. He carefully checked our old T111 siding and he even climbed up to our roof and checked the one piece of siding on the roof. He is very knowledgeable and answered a lot of our questions. He visited us another couple times, besides giving us the estimate, he also showed up with the siding samples and patiently explained to us a lot of technical details and price options on the job they are going to do. We didn't chose Advance this time due to the price. But we are very impressed with Spencer's work ethic and the way Advance operating. We will certainly consider working with Advance for some future jobs.

Two people showed up to perform the services. They called to indicate they were stuck in traffic and were running about 20 minutes late. The two people walked around the house for the inspection. I walked with them as I wanted to get their feedback real time. They said the house was in good shape. I asked about the windows as they are 16 years old. They indicated the windows seemed fine but had some wear. They said they wouldn't do anything to the the windows as it would create more problems then fix. They recommended replacing windows instead of providing any service at the time. I pointed out that the back door seal was starting to deteriorate. They indicated that the back of the house gets a lot of sun and the door should be replaced and provided me with a general estimate. Again, they didn't provide any services. I had to point out a piece of siding that had come loose on the sunroom which they didn't see during their inspection. They caulked the siding after I asked them what to do to prevent further damage. I also pointed out that the small window in the basement appeared to be leaking during Superstorm Sandy. They put a little caulking on the cement portion of the frame. Overall, I was not impressed with the service. I pointed out more things than they identified in their inspection. They also indicated there would be a report provided after the service; no report was sent. I did receive a couple of brochures and a general estimate which I could have received for free from other companies if asked. Not worth $169.

Two people showed up. They called to say they'd be late as they were stuck in traffic (~ 20 minutes late). They inspected the attic and indicated that the house could benefit from more insulation. I asked them about leaks as I had the soffets re-cauked after Superstorm Sandy. They didn't say much about the leaks. I asked them if the insulation looked like it had gotten wet and if it needed to be replaced and they said no. I know there was a water issue as I had some ceiling damage as a result of the storm. Then they went to the outside and climbed the ladder so they were eye level with the roof. A picture was taken of shingles on the edge. They did not go on the roof of the main house itself. They did get on the garage roof and looked around a bit. They indicated that the roof should be replaced soon. They indicated that I would receive a report with the finding and recommendation for insulation in the attic. No such report was provided. They didn't provide any real service just provided a recommendation to replace the roof. Not worth the $149.

Preface this with I did not spend any money/receive services from this listing, so review below is only in reference to my experience scheduling an estimate. Read good reviews on Angie's so I decided to call Philly area number provided on the Angie's page. An individual's VM from the company picked up instructing to leave contact info/brief description of work. Left name/number/email and in 8 days heard nothing. Went to company website and utilized online chat service, gave detailed description of work I was looking to receive estimate for along with contact info. Representative said someone would be in touch Monday. Never heard anything. On Wednesday I used the online form provided on company site; I provided all requested fields and in addition mentioned briefly the difficulties I had come across in getting a response. I received an email response within five minutes of submission. Woman I exchanged emails with scheduled a contractor to come out in a couple weeks from that date at 930am, I asked that she contact me closer to the date with exact details of the contact. Day before scheduled appointment she emailed me with contractor's name. Contractor calls me at 915 saying he's running a late. Receive call 20 minutes later saying the appointment he's dropping guys off at is 45minutes away from my address and he's not coming. I explain that if he wants to come by later in the day when I'm not home, work I'm trying to get done is visible from the outside of the house. He calls me at 2pm to discuss what he sees, says he needs to get some part estimates and he'll get back to me tonight/tomorrow morning latest. After four days of hearing nothing I call the company to ask if the contractor had mentioned anything and when he'll get back to me, they said they would have him reach out to me. One to two hours after my request the original contractor calls me back, explains a part is custom and that he's still waiting on one more mfr., he'll be back to me in a day or two. A month has passed since I've had any contact with anyone from the company. I should note that when exchanging emails with the secretary I mentioned the phone number on the Angie's page; this number has since been removed leaving only the (302) number as an option for calling. The contractors from this company may do great work (though I cannot verify since never received final estimate/hired them), but if you value your time recommend going elsewhere.

EXCELLENT!! Joe Bailey is wonderful to work with. You just cannot ask for anyone better!!!
Description of Work: I called Advance Roofing Windows Siding Doors after experiencing a leak in my second floor bedroom after a big rainstorm that past weekend. I spoke with Joe Bailey on the phone and he came out to my house that Wed. i had also shown him other areas of my house that I suspected had damage due to the roof and other areas. The next day or two Joe brought over Michael Smulski, the Production Manager, and they both went up on the roof for a proper inspection and took videos to show me the very poor condition of my roof. My roof was a flat tar roof that I had replaced 15 years ago, and never had any maintenance done to it. The videos confirmed this. As luck would have it the weather report was calling for warmer, sunny weather, and instead of doing the work on Tues. the work was moved up a few days to Sat. I was very happy that the work could be done so soon. The workman came between 8-9am and began working. They worked all day, took what seemed to be a very short lunch break. In the end I had an STA TORCH DOWN Flat roof put on which carries a 20 year warranty. In the Spring a Silver coating will be applied to the roof, and to further extend the life of the roof, every three years I will have another coating put on. I also had gutter work applied to the front slate roofing, and new down spout, and drain extending to the yard also flashing. Joe Bailey came during the day and applied caulking to ALL the front outside windows, and special silicone caulking to the glassblock windows. The workman DID NOT LEAVE UNTIL I WAS TOTALLY SATISFIED!!!!

We were in the process of purchasing a home and turned to Angie's List when the home inspection report came in. The home was built in 1989, and unfortunately showed a lot of issues with many of the windows (most of which were original) that included rotting exterior sills and moisture in the surrounding stucco, as well as a few questionable areas in roof drip edge and flashing. The home had 30 windows and 15 of them had serious problems so the haggling with the sellers started and we were prepared for sticker shock or possibly walking away from the house. I found Advance and because of a number of favorable reviews, called them about mid afternoon and was immediately patched through to their lead guy, Gary. He went to work on the spot, asking me to email him the inspection report and photos, then spent an hour on the phone with me going through it all. He explained some terms the inspector had used as well as what he was seeing in the photos and possible remedies. We made an appointment to meet at the house the following day and he was right on time, friendly, easy going and not pushy at all, and did not make us feel like he was out to get us to replace every window as well as invest in expensive repairs that were not actually needed. Window by window, every examination was meticulous and he kept notes on which ones needed more extensive repairs and which ones would be simple replacements. He also pointed out additional places in the roofing and flashing that had been missed by the inspector and what his company could offer to repair. We ended up getting the sellers to give some credit toward window replacement as well as the drip edge and flashing touch ups and really feel that we got a lot of work and product for the price. Advance got the job done quickly and perfectly to meet our closing date and told us that their business slows in the winter and they can give even better prices--to keep in mind for when we were ready to move ahead with the remaining 10 windows. We were so pleased with the operation and work that we just called Gary last week and had another pleasant visit with him. He gave us a price of $6,000, which was right where we had expected. One last note; as we were the buyers in a pending contract, some other companies I called would not even consider dealing with me or coming to see the project. I explained that it was sure sale, solid closing, but was still told they would not deal with anyone but the actual homeowner. Advance had no problem with it and accepted confusing payment terms because of us getting the credit from the sellers before closing on the home. It wasn't that they were desperate for the job or run sketchy operation; they just understood that these things happen.
Description of Work: Replaced 15 large (most are at least 32x60) windows, many of which were in a stucco facade that had moister and rot issues in the openings that had to be dug out, cleaned and patched. Some roofing drip edge was improved upon and some flashing and sealing added. The home is two story traditional, 2800 sf plus unfinished basement, built 1989.

Company was to winterize my windows. The first two appointments scheduled were cancelled due to weather, windows could not be sealed when raining or damp, which I understood. When they did come out, instead of workers to do the work, it was just one person who assessed the job and offered other needed services (a couple of sidine repairs). I had thought that the work would be done that day, hence the company rescheduling during the damp weather. However, I agreed to the services offered and was told that I would be contacted with an estimate. I did not hear from them for a few days and after making calls in to the company, my call was returned and an estimate given and a date for the work to be done was scheduled. I was asked to send an email agreeing to the price, which I did and I also confirmed the date the work was to be done. On the appointed day, no one showed up at the scheduled time. I called the company and was told that a manager would call me back. I declined and cancelled the deal as I felt that there was too much confusion and time lost from work. They did call several times to reschedule, but I was no longer interested.

Advanced Roofing put screws in two pieces of siding that had come loose. The gutters had already been cleaned by another company so it was the window calking that I was expecting. I did not see that any calking had been done. In addition they quoted on a new roof and their quote was for putting a new layer of shingles over the old ones for $8500.00. I was not impressed with their proposed work or the work that was done under the coupon.

Depending on what we were having done., we would use them again. They were very prompt & perfessional. I think that they are more familiar with what may need to be done on our roof and wouldnt have to guess what the problem is. That is why it took so long to review because the guys were very prompt coming back out.
Description of Work: We had a metal wrap removed and replaced on front porch facia and dish removed from tin roof. The holes had to be resealed and metal cap with brown soffits were used to put back to original look. That part of job was OK. The work we had done per Angie List price was questionable because we showed him the beginnings of a leak in kitchen, he suggested a fix, we had the fix done, but it didnt work because the kitchen leaked with the next heavy rain. That was the original reason we called them in. They had to come back out and reseal around our chimney which is what we told them they needed to do in the first place. We ended up with a lot of water damage. Also, after they did their fix , they didnt reconnect our downspouts and the wind blew them away. We had to pay to have them replaced.
