Cochran Oil Co

I'll start with stating that I have not had oil delivery or service to my heater from this company. They may be perfectly fine once you are a customer. My wife and I were looking to change heating oil providers and were making inquiries with companies in the area as to what was available in regards to auto delivery, pricing, and billing. My experience was that I found Cochran tough to communication with. I called them early on a Monday and stated what we were looking to do. I was talked over frequently and found it tough to fit in answers or questions as to what would be needed to establish auto delivery. They require a list of 3 previous deliveries so they could an idea of what we would require this year. Simple enough, and I could obtain that but when I tried to give the information I was again talked over and told that another lady handled customer set-up and she would call me back. Later, about mid-day, I hadn't heard back and was away from my desk a bit , so I called and checked in. I was told they were very busy on Mondays and that they would call me back Tuesday. I got a call back Tuesday and again, was talked over frequently, asked questions but not given an opportunity to answer and found it frustrating to try to communicate with them. They were in no way friendly, and were abrupt. I was told I needed a list of 3 consecutive deliveries, after some waiting I finally was able to say that I have a list and could provide it, I was told to fax it and wasn't given a fax # till I asked specifically for it. I got the impression that I was a bother, that they were over worked and stressed out, and that I was putting them out by trying to establish an account. Again, they may be a great company, and may do ok work and provide ok service, but my experience with trying to get an account was not a pleasant one. I decided to go with another company and was able to set up an account with one phone call. I think if Cochran has that much trouble in communication to set-up an account that it would be far worse once I was a customer and would put us in a jam when we depend on them for oil for heat and service to our heater.
