Description of Work: B&B installed a heat pump in my house. Had Service Call on A/C unit,which was not able to be repaired. They suggested heat pump for entire house. Difference in price between buying heat pump and replacing A/C was not much. B&B suggested that I would save money on oil by using heat pump. They are very professional and clean when they are in your home.

Description of Work: Price gouging. Hook you on a free trash deal along with the heating oil contract. Ended up paying about 25-30% more as the oil rates kept changing through the year. We filled our 250 Gal tank about 4-5 times last winter and did not pay the same rate any 2 times. The free trash was not worth it at all. Their trash removal was also hit/miss in the early days, and timing during the week is not consistent. They did not show up even after calling-in to pickup trash when they did not show up, on a couple of occasions.

 + -1 moreThe oil is $4.09 per gallon, which is high. They are very reliable and professional. That is why we have been with them for so long. They are very good. They are a little higher in price because they are a larger outfit. They are proactive and they are top notch.
Description of Work: They serviced our heater and that was an annual inspection and cleaning. They also do our oil delivery.

 + -1 moreIt went extremely well and I will certainly call them again when I need work done. In mid-November, I started smelling gas when my 20-year old furnace was running. I called the company I normally use to repair the problem. They gave me a laundry list of things that needed to be replaced on my furnace which totaled nearly $900. Before I spent that kind of money on a 20-year old system, I wanted to get quotes to see if it made sense to replace the unit now, rather than the 3-5 year plan I had in mind. I got three bids, and Burns & McBride's quote fell almost exactly in the middle of the other two quotes for comparable equipment. I decided to go with Burns and McBride and gave my sales rep a call Tuesday morning before Thanksgiving. My sales rep worked his magic and the installers were at my house by 7 AM that Friday. I live in a 20-year-old townhouse and the furnace is located in a tiny closet in the kitchen - far from ideal working conditions. The guys laid out several drop cloths so the weren't walking directly on the carpet, and went to work. By a little after 3 PM, they were completely done. When they left, you would never have known that I had workmen in the house all day long. They even offered to run the sweeper for me before they left. The only thing they weren't able to do is test the air conditioner because it was too cold for the compressor to work. They'll be back in April or May to "finish" the job properly. I would recommend Burns & McBride without hesitation!
