Service was excellent. Workers we're prompt and polite. Owner answered questions and provided information on yard care.

It was VERY difficult to get them motivated to finish the job on time as promised (for my daughter's graduation party). We had to call Carlos repeatedly to get his crew out there and he told us that he had a seminar, that it rained (which it did not), that one of the days was a holiday, that he had other jobs, etc. The workers never showed on several days and when they were there they were on their phones, standing around, eating and talking. Carlos was hardly there so there was no supervision. Their work day was never more than 5 or 6 hours long. We were promised that it would be finished several days before the party so that it would have time to fully cure/dry. They didn't finish until 1 hour before guests started arriving and they still had to come back later to finish several things that weren't complete or right. It does look nice, although several of the blocks are misaligned and the walls have separated at the seams now only a year later. It was extremely difficult to get Carlos back to fix our concerns and throughout the entire process. I will use another contractor for future work due to the lack of motivation of his crew and the difficulty in getting him to return calls and come when he promises. He was a very personable guy, but he must have too much work and poor employees to properly take care of everyone.

Everything went well, the backyard looked great when they were finished. They were very thorough and there was no waste left behind. We had some scheduling setbacks because of the rain, but that's not their fault. We will be using Sylca again in the future.

They were very professional. They arrived on time. They did an excellent job. They cleaned up all debris. Everything went well. I would definitely use them again. I highly recommend.

I called Juan Carlos to come see the property to properly evaluate the work that was to be completed. Juan and I agreed upon a date and a time to visit. Juan Carlos never showed up and never returned numerous calls to reschedule. A representative from Angie's List also called to set up another appointment and no response.

I purchased a big deal to have 2 yards of mulch installed. I was happy that the service provider completed the job within about a week of purchase and was pleasant and flexible during the service.

These guys are great! They show up every time it snows without even being called, and do a thorough job of removing all the snow from our driveway, sidewalk, walkway, and porch. Not inexpensive, but worth every penny.

The service went great. I had them pull together the landscaping for the front of the house. They laid stone around one large area of trees and shrubs making it an attractive entrance to the house. They worked on the shrubs for us also. They were very cooperative and completed the work in 1 day. It was very easy to schedule the service. About 4 landscapers came out. The landscapers were easy to work with and patient with me. They worked well with me to make sure I got exactly what I wanted and were great at communicating with me.

I have used them for over a year and they do a great job!

The service provider met with me at the project site PRIOR to the Holidays of 2014 to discuss the scope of landscape/hardscape work. The work was approximately $25,000.00 in value, apparently too small of an amount for him to be bothered. The initial meeting went well. However, there were three subsequent appointments made to go over his proposal. Two out of the three subsequent appointments he COMPLETELY disregarded without a prior phone call or even a text to let me know that he needed to reschedule. I rearranged my schedule and waited only for him to demonstrate that he didn't care about MY TIME. The first appointment he disregarded without advance notice, he claimed he had the flu. But, it took me a week and a half after that missed appointment to find this out through a follow-up phone call INITIATED BY ME! We then scheduled a second appointment. He actually did contact me to reschedule the second appointment. The third attempt to meet (the rescheduled 2nd appointment), he also completely blew off without a call or a text in advance. I called and texted him repeatedly....no response! I then contacted him using my boyfriend's phone because mine was dead and he answered sounding surprised that I would call!!! It almost seemed as though he was purposely avoiding my phone calls. He apologized profusely stating that he had a lot of personal problems at which point, I asked him whether or not he was interested in provided me an estimate for this job? I told him that I did not want to waste either of our precious time if he was either unwilling or unable to provide an estimate and perform the work. He INSISTED that he was interested in meeting to go over his proposal and that he was able to meet on Thursday (today), 1/29/2015 at 10:00 am. It is now 5:01 pm and AGAIN he has neither called or texted in advance to inform me that he could not make it. This is a service provider that advertised "a Deal" on this website. He wasted a month of my time. I have now "written him off". In a way, I am relieved. If he is this disrespectful of my time, I can only imagine how things would be if I gave him a deposit and expected him to begin and complete my project by a particular time and date.

Excellent service. This company does good work. Some of the bushes had grown large and out of control--I was a little worried that they wouldn't deal with bushes that were that tall, but they did, and now the yard looks much better! They cleaned up all yard waste, cleaned out under the hibiscus bushes (a real mess before they started) and for a small extra fee hauled it all away. They even removed some yard waste I had been unable to dispose of before their arrival (branches so thick they needed sawing down, a large pile of grass clippings). It is a pleasure to deal with people who take pride in their work!

I called the service provider and he wasn't able to accommodate my schedule and now I have stop getting replies when I reach out to him. I have applied for a refund with Angie's List.

Carlos was great to work with and was very responsive. He and his team did a fantastic job!! We have received a ton of compliments on the work they did!

The results are incredible! Juan Carlos was amazing. The job was extensive but only took about 2 weeks. He provided us with an amazing vision and advice and he had the skills to bring this vision to fruition. He kept us up to date every step of the way. He and his team were always professional and respectful with no surprises. They kept the site clean, and minimally invasive. This was by far the best and easiest home improvement project we have ever done. Due to Juan Carlos's work, the change was very dramatic - it now looks like our home has had a facelift, easily taking decades off of the appearance. We have received numerous compliments from our friends and neighbors (and we always refer them to Sylca). Without a doubt we would not hesitate to hire him and his team again!

The work that is needed to be done would be alot more then what the Big Deal could cover and we cannot afford that at the moment.

Sylca did an outstanding job on our project. The consultation was thorough, with Sylca making very good recommendations to make sure the job was even better than I expected. They excavated on the first day of work, and didn't leave any kind debris behind. They made quick work of the job the next day and left the work area immaculate, even replacing any displaced mulch around the patio. The end product looks awesome, and we would happily work with them again. In fact, we've already requested an estimate on replacing our front walkway, which looks mighty shabby next to our new patio.

I bought a "Big Deal" for hardscape and had them do a little bit extra for a fair price. Carlos started the job on-time and when there was a weather related delay he informed me at once that he would be a day late. The patio looks great and I would hire him again.

Excellent! Carlos came to the house and to see what we needed. He was very professional and courteous. We told him what we wanted and he told us what he and his crew would do. We wanted a number of old bushes removed from either side of the house and from in front. Carlos advised us to go to Angie's List and purchase a $249.99 coupon for the work and the sod was quoted at $750. The crew showed up as promised and did the work as promised. Carlos supervised the work, watered the new sod, and advised us on proper watering until it is established. Everything was cleaned up well. We are very satisfied.

HORRIBLE. I was unable to contact contractor for weeks. Finally had customer service contact the company before I received a call back. Did a walk through and what we agreed to have done, only half of the work was completed. Two of the beds were not done nor was mulch laid down, agreed to loosen the soil for a future bed, only one inch of the top was completed leaving soil underneath packed down. I would not recommend this company to anyone who expects a professional job to be completed or good customer service.

It went very well and pretty efficiently - we purchased the deal on 6/29/14, explained to Juan Carlos what we wanted done on 7/2/14, he & his crew started the job on 7/7/14 and completed it on 7/12/14. We got exactly what we wanted - an almost seamless extension of the stone-paved patio in our backyard with minimum damage done to the existing plantings. Juan Carlos took great care to match the stones and to buy just the right amount of required materials. Members of the crew were polite and worked steadily and in tandem placing and hand-pounding the stones in place. Beautiful work! Juan Carlos has a picture of the new patio.

Juan Carlos and his men worked carefully and did an outstanding job. They worked with us to re-use our old pavers, even though they were a different height from the new pavers, and meant extra work. They carefully removed all our stuff from the old patio, totally cleaned our old pavers, and then worked out a nice design with the new pavers. We were gone on vacation while most of the work was done and on his own initiative Juan Carlos came by several times to water the perennials we were storing in an old swale while the patio work was being done. They even re-seeded the lawn that was disturbed during the work. Juan Carlos took time from his drainage work (the only time we were at home) to patiently answer our questions. We'd hire them again in a New York minute.

Juan Carlos postponed our first scheduled visit due to strong storms, but arrived promptly for the next scheduled appointment. Since we did not know exactly what we had in mind or where the walkway should end, he made a few suggestions that were great. He showed us the EP Henry book with the color combinations that he thought would be complimentary to our house's color scheme. He was able to give us a price on the spot and did not pressure us to make a decision immediately. After reading other Angie's List comments, we were comfortable with giving him the verbal OK. A few days later he arrived with a contract, requiring 1/2 down and 1/2 at completion. He scheduled the first day of work to begin in a few weeks, but a day or 2 before that called to say he and his crew were running a few days late, and the job was postponed from a Monday to the following Thursday. I appreciated the notice. He arrived as promised on Thursday. He and his crew worked diligently. All were polite and professional. Initially I thought that the price was high, but once I saw the precise and labor- intensive work that was involved, it seemed quite appropriate. There were no unexpected fees added to the total cost. I have received many compliments from our neighbors as to the beauty of the work.
