Carlos and his team did some landscaping work for me last year and I was satisfied with his work. I recommended him to my mom for the same kind of work (~$1000 worth of landscaping). He said he wouldn't be able to come give an estimate for 4 days. Then, he never showed up for the appointment, never called with an explanation or an apology, and never answered our calls. Very disappointing and disrespectful. Give your landscaping business to someone who respects their customers.

Juan Carlos was a pleasure to deal with, and it was great to be taken seriously for a job this small. In the previous 10 months I met with a few others for this work: One was clearly not interested, one was way overpriced, another signed a contract with me and then blew it off completely and vanished. Carlos and his guys did a first-class job on this. I was home during the whole process and watched on and off what they were doing, mostly because at one point I was going to attempt it myself and I was curious as to how to go about it. I can say they appeared to be every bit as meticulous as I would be. Raised all the flagstones such that they're now flush with the timbers around the perimeter (they were all an inch or so below originally, except for the parts that had sunk, which were approaching three inches below) and replaced the rotted-out section of those timbers. Added polymeric sand in the spaces between, sort of like outdoor epoxy grout. It'd be great if everyone did what they do this well.

Went very well, was excellent to work with and very flexible. Would highly recommend this company.

The provider set up an appointment for a particular day and time. I received a message that he was running a little late, giving the time he would arrive. He never showed or contacted me further. I canceled my service and obtained a refund for what I had paid up front.

Provided an estimate but failed to show up for a major snow storm or respond to calls all weekend asking if they planned to meet their commitments. VERY unprofessional!

Excellent job. Timely. Professional. Called Sylca Sunday evening and Carlos came Monday a.m. around 8:30. He will call me at the time of future snows to see if I want him to come out.

So happy to have gotten a response right away! They worked with me to find a date and time for service that was quick and convenient for me. We had an honest conversation about price and I felt that his price was more than fair. Carlos and his son worked quickly and did a great job! Exactly what I asked for, without cutting corners. Payment via credit card worked great for me and PayPal is super convenient. They'll be coming back to do work for us in the future as well. Thanks so much !!

Juan Carlos and his team did a wonderful job and we are very happy with the work. we have received several complements from our neighbors and some of them asked for his business card.

The men came an worked steady. They did a great job and made a big difference with the exterior of our home. The only thing I did not like, is that they broke our trash can which they should not have been using for the work they were performing. Everything was paid to be hauled by them. Otherwise, great group of men.

Juan was very easy to work with. He provided recommendations which turned out very well. Showed up when expected and only took 2 days to complete.

Sylca did a very nice job. They showed up promptly after each snowfall and thoroughly cleaned everything.

Work was excellent. Juan and his crew of workers were punctual and performed all of the work I requested. As the workers completed the yard work, several of my neighbors came over to ask Juan to perform lanscaping in their yards. Although Juan was scheduled to perform a very large job elsewhere, he was able to fit my job into the schedule and ensured he came to the work site throughout the day, and spoke with me about my satisfaction of the work.

Carlos and his crew did a fantastic job on our new front sidewalk, porch and backyard patio. We first hired his team to replace our cement sidewalk and to redo the front porch. After removing the sidewalk they discovered a second sidewalk underneath the first one. They removed this one as well with no added cost. The project included EP Henry Blue stone pavers and a Coventry Stone circle kit. Our neighbors have all been very complimentary on the new walkway and porch. Since this project turned out so well we hired Carlos's crew again to do a large 30'X25' patio and walkway with Conventry Stone pavers. This required the removal of large tree roots and the installation of a drainage pipe for the downspout. A set of steps were installed to the new patio door and this was reinforced with a cement foundation. A 35' curved sitting wall was installed with LV lighting. Carlos and his team took great care to make sure the patio was graded in a way to allow proper drainage of rainwater away from the house and patio. Upon completion of both projects, Carlos added topsoil and mulch where needed and removed all garbage and waste. Keep in mind that during the warmer months his schedule fills up fast. Carlos was able to squeeze in for the patio due to a delay on pool installation. Neither project were completed within the discussed time frame but we weren't in a hurry and Carlos warned us that schedules were weather pending. Given the amount of rain we had in the late spring and early summer we weren't surprised when the projects were delayed. Overall we are very happy with our new additions and will enjoy entertaining friends and family this fall.

Carlos and his crew did an excellent job. After they removed the old concrete, we had considered changing the layout of the replacement. Carlos was patient while we discussed the different layout options even though his crew had to wait while we discussed everything. He even took the time to lay out some brick in order for us to visualize what the different options would look like. In the end, we went with his expert advice and the finished porch and walkway look fantastic! The entire crew was very professional and courteous. Working with Carlos was simple and easy, and we are VERY pleased with the outcome! Thank you Carlos for doing such a great job!

Juan Carlos Negrete, or Carlos as he prefers to be called, (the head of Sylca, Inc.) and his crew were very hardworking, diligent. and produced high quality work in the end. These kinds of jobs are somewhat fluid in terms of what you, the customer, wants, as well as related aspects that the service provider notices or suggests. We were in almost constant communication with Carlos, as he was with his men everyday for most of the day; and working every bit as hard as his crew. Their work on the hardscaping jobs was very precise and extremely well done. the work was done over two weeks time, including some Saturday work. We especially appreciated the consultation with Carlos about deciding exactly what we wanted. The crew was very personable and considerate of us the homeowners, as they were doing their work. We would recommend Sylca highly; and we would definitely use them again!

This is a totally unprofessional way to handle a business.From what I could gather,he is swamped with business(probably because he is running specials on Angie's List). If he was a good businessman,he would at least hire someone to help him handle the details or tell people when they call that he is currently not taking jobs for several months out, rather than accept appointments with no intention of showing up.

The final result looks great! The owner responded within 24 hours and had an immediate opening since they were working in the same area. We had a little miscommunication as to which areas were to be completed but Carlos made sure to make everything right before the end. I used them last year as well and have been happy. Price is very reasonable for labor and the materials.

He never showed up for the appointment, would not answer his phone and would not return calls or emails. I wish I had read the other reviews for this provider as there were similar problems.

Due to weather issues had to move scheduled date but Carlos did advise of delay. When here landscaping services were excellent! They performed weeding, trimming, edging and general spring clean up. Carlos has an eye for landscaping and would highly recommend him and his team. We are already planning to use him next year.

Great workers. Steady and completes task on a timely manner

Juan, came out to meet us in March and discussed the job. He then scheduled a time to complete the job. He delayed the job due to rain by a day because he wanted to make sure he could get everything done. He and his team showed up promptly, and go to work. They worked hard all day and transformed our yard from an eyesore to an oasis. He was great to work with, he communicated with us throughout the job. I will use them again!!!

We messaged back and forth and I was never able to get an appointment so I cancelled the deal.

The overall timing of doing work went fairly well. Did not always show up when expected. Did other jobs in between. The work which is 2 years old has begun to come apart, retaining wall is leaning and pavers are lifting. Have had to call company back repeatedly within a short period of time to fix pavers that were coming unglued(should not have been glued) and falling off landing. The response time would take weeks. Now the retaining wall is leaning pavers on the walkway are separating and lifting drastically and they have fallen off around the step landing. Not only is this unsightly and embarrassing but is a liability as a homeowner if someone should trip/fall. The last time I contacted them was early April 2015 and the response I was given was they would come out the following week and address all issues. It is may 15 2015 (45 days have passed)and no company representative has been in contact I have had other hardscape contractors come out to advise with them all being in agreement that the job was poorly done from the foundation to the laying of the pavers. I am seeking legal resolution.

The deal was advertised to include removal of plants/bushes. But when he saw there were quite a few of them, he demanded more than double of the price. I then asked him to do some other works instead and he agreed to come back in about 2 week. However, when the time comes, he did not show up and would not answer/return the phone or text for 3 days.
