There’s lots of carpet installers who claim years of experience. Sadly though, they’ve either been doing it wrong for all those years or they just don’t care anymore. Beware! After paying over $11,000 for new carpet and struggling to get installers to remedy a myriad of issues, I finally found and called on Steve at Christiana Carpet. What a god-send! Steve is a true craftsman. He knows how and cares enough to install carpet correctly and – in this case – fix / reinstall our really bad carpet installation. I wouldn’t have believed it could be done, but he did it. He says he’s not a magician – and he’s right – it’s all about doing it correctly (but I still wonder about his magical abilities) . He’s very meticulous and conscientious – he’s proud of his work and won’t settle for anything less. He fussed over fits within a 16th of an inch, he fixed bad seams, doorway transitions, and stairs carpet that was cut wrong and installed crooked by those other guys. Steve re-installed that stairs carpet to perfection – it’s straight and tight. All seams are now correct and doorways no longer have dips and depressions. NO staple marks anywhere and no looseness. Steve is also very modest. He won’t come in bragging about his skills or try to convince you of anything. He’s quiet, yet very personable. His desire to just do a good job clearly prevails. I’d highly recommend Christiana Carpet for not only fixes and repairs, but for ALL carpeting needs. Call him if you want a good job. I wished I had found him before going with those other guys who touted their abilities in their showrooms. I would have saved a lot of money and not gone through what seemed to be 2 carpet installations.

Outstanding. This is my third time using Christiana Carpet for three different properties. On time to the sales appointment, had adequate samples and knew what I was looking for. Price quote was emailed, price remained as quoted for the job. Scheduling the install worked with my schedule. Craftsmanship was to notch. There was a difficult stairway with some angled steps that he did perfectly. Everything was cleaned up when he was done.

I price compared to Lowes, thought the prices were per yard vs. per foot, I did the math, and it was comparable. The provider has a small business and does most of the work himself with an assistant. Since his livelihood depend on it, he does top notch work, no shortcuts. He doesn't take a credit card, so expect to have a check ready, but he is well worth it. Carpet came as expected, on time, work was done in the two days allotted, was exceptional, and there was no mess left behind. He says he can do carpet repair as well, though I haven't needed it. I highly recommend this installer!!!
