Jeff Steimel was recommended through our realitor, Prudential Gallo. Our project started out fine, but as we needed Jeff to disclose his financial info with our bank for our construction loan, things changed. He was refusing /dragging his feet with his portion of the loan info. It was then that we learned he had financial problems and possibly not insured. He began to cut corners, change our floor plans. When the house was complete, late, he refused to honor the warranty, stating the problems we had were not his problems. We contacted the building inspector who told us Jeff did not follow our original plans which was part of the issues we were having in the home. He only used half the piers that were drawn up in our plans Doors not closing, cracks in the walls, Hard wood floors damaged, were only some of the problems. He refused to fix/address any of these if he had to put money out to fix/replace his poor workmanship. He is unprofessional and shrewd. Beware. Many contractors have stopped working with him because of him cutting corners and using downgraded products. We had to put out a lot of extra money to complete our home and fix his poor workmanship. We do not want other people to go through what we went through. We know 2 banks that will not work with him anymore. Please do your homework. We do not recommend Steimel Construction.
