Thank you, Jobe and Joy, for the magical patio space you designed and brought to life in our backyard. We love it and use it daily!

Jobe's Landscape Company is dangerous and should have their license removed. Why? When installing a sprinkler system next door, Jobe's cut my underground electric cable with their backhoe, did not immediately stop work, did not immediately call Miss Utility, and most importantly covered up my damaged 200 amp service with dirt...all CODE VIOLATIONS. This created an underground fire that eventually burned up 10 feet of my electric cable and destroyed the transformer that services 3 of us here on the ocean block in Rehoboth Beach. The Delmarva Power Linemen said it was the worst damage that they had ever seen and we were lucky that our house didn't catch on fire and that no one was electrocuted. When our underground service burned through and the power went out to our house, 200 amps of electricity was flowing through the ground next to our house. If anyone stepped on that wet ground they could have been electrocuted! Fortunately, I was home and discovered the underground fire before it burned down our house. Many of us Rehoboth Beach residents are only here during the summer months, but if this happened when I wasn't here, chances are it would not have been discovered in time for the fire to reach the house. Also, if it happened at night when we were asleep, we could have been burned up in the house. Wendy Stack, President of the Delmarva Safety Commission and Board Member of Miss Utility of Delmarva has contacted Jobe's Landscaping to review all the above mentioned code violations and to inform them that Jobe's was now on the Miss Utility Watch List. Jobe's was also informed that a formal complaint has been filed with the Public Safety Commission (PSC) who is the Regulatory Agency with the power to impose a $2,000.00 fine and remove their license. A second violation will immediately remove their license. And, you don't want to be that second violation! Jobe's was clearly reminded by Wendy Stack of the dangerous situation that they created, and that Delmarva Power would make them financially responsible for all the labor, equipment and materials necessary to fix the damages caused by their INCOMPETENT GROSS NEGLIGENCE. Furthermore, the sprinkler system they "installed" next door doesn't even work. So, now you have a choice. You can choose a competent Landscape Company in Sussex County that won't burn your house down or electrocute you, or you can choose Jobe's Landscaping...Your Choice!

Terrible customer interaction!!!!! I will start by saying I usually only do reviews if they are good. As a matter of fact, I enjoying sharing good experiences and referring good people. I bet most people do because if it is a bad experience they don't want to waste their time re-telling it and having to deal with backlash. Angie's List is good at getting people to share their good experiences. Maybe some people's "grades" are a bit over inflated due to this model. I contracted (End of Aug 2018) and paid a design fee to Jobe to do a landscape design for my entire lawn. (it is a small area). He did a beautiful design, we changed a few things and paired it down for cost purposes. We also discussed breaking it down into 2 parts because it was the fall and I wasn't going to be around to take care of any plantings. It worked for him because he could to the hardscape over the winter when things were typically slow. They did not get to it until mid March. Per our (Jobe and myself) conversations, the plantings would be done in the spring. But, it was spring and there were issues /delays with the sprinklers, the fencing getting ordered and put in. I assumed we would move forward once these items were completed. At that point, Jobe was not around much. Little if any communication. A new person came aboard and I never dealt with Jobe again. Then enters Joy (one of the owners). People who had no knowledge of what Jobe and I had discussed were sending me new proposals with different plants, charging me for things that were already completed and jumping the costs every time a proposal was "fixed". It was so bad that I had to get out the proposal Jobe and I had worked on and itemize it myself with pictures. Even with a detailed list/pictures of what I wanted, Joy insisted her proposal was right. She did not listen to a thing her customer was saying! It was her way. Joy was very condescending, couldn't admit she made a mistake, got nasty if you changed the plan in anyway and just truly acted like I was putting her out even though I had spent a lot of money with more on the way. The cost of this project was pushing $50k. I had also signed up well for a maintenance contract. Not customer oriented at all. I decided not to finish with them and I am awaiting my money back that I paid for the second phase. I have 4 dead trees waiting to be replaced from first phase. Which was to originally be 8/14. She canceled said the trees were not in. But, in the next email said they couldn't put off replacing them off until spring because they were there at their shop. We will see. I think Jobe is talented and good to work with but I did not have the follow through and things fell through the cracks.

Joy was easy to work with, and explained the process well. I also enjoyed working with Freddie and the crew. They worked hard, did a outstanding job with professional results.

We can't say enough good things about Jobes. Both Joy and Jobe (owners) are sticklers for detail and laid out all of the beds and positioning of the plantings personally. Their crew was amazing and were just as meticulous about the actual planting as Joy and Jobe. They were all a pleasure to work with and we will be using their services again in future projects.

It was a pleasure to work with Jobe’s. No excuses, no surprises —- just prompt service, competent advice, carefully execution of plans, and a fabulous result. We could not be happier.

From the design to the final planting, our experience with Jobe’s was exceptionally positive. The entire team was professional and responsive to our requests. The work was completed in a timely fashion even though we had to request a short delay. The crew answered our questions and made correction if needed. We intend to have them maintain our landscape because we are so pleased with their work.

Jobe's did an amazing job, they were very helpful in all aspects of the project. They created a landscape design that reflected our desires for color and plant types while being informative about what types of plants would thrive in our location. They were also able to move plants and shrubs for us when we were under construction prior to this project and the plantings survived. The walkway is beautiful! They also installed attachments to our downspouts to take water away from the house underground. We have used Jobes for more than 6 years and are very happy.

This is our 2nd time contracting Jobe's. An attractive and practical paver design was quickly created and a written estimate provided. Once accepted, an installation date was communicated and agreed upon. The work crew arrived on time as promised and quickly laid out a design pattern for our review before proceeding with the work. Job was completed in a very timely manner, including cleanup. A friendly and professional family business that offers great quality of work and fair prices.

the design was beautiful and professionally pictured from a computer graphic. the workers worked very hard and were very polite. When I did not like one of the plantings it was exchanged for one of my liking the next day. They even did a few extra things without charge.

This project could not have gone any better. The initial meeting with Joy was inspiring and easy. She was on time and made suggestions that I would not have thought of on my own. The photo realistic computer designs done by Jobe were beautiful and detailed. The proposal included every detail down to a complete list of every plant, multiple photo's of the plants, size and quantity to be ordered. The crew doing the work were professional and were clearly experienced. Jobe supervised and worked on days when he knew his personal touch would add value. The project required changes and improvements to the original irrigation system. The coordination of the various stages of the two week project was seamless. During the planting, deer were roaming the area as is normal. Although Jobe selected deer tolerant plants, a couple got eaten. Jobe went to his nursery and selected new plants to replace them. He sprayed deer repellant and left me a 1 gallon container to use bi-weekly for added protection. At the end of the project, Jobe walked over the entire project with me, reviewing all the plants, little touches he added along the way. During the project, my neighbors were stopping in front of the house and praising the work. Without a doubt the result is first class. Price - this was a big job and included complete removal of all old plants with minor exception. They pulled out all the plants and all the roots and amended the soil. Yes, I was a bit taken back when I saw the price, but as I looked at the proposed photo's, considered all that was going to be done to achieve the results, Jobes enthusiasm for the job, and that I wanted a striking yard, I knew it would be worth it. AND IT IS.

It went very well. Jobe provided a plan for plants, lighting; they executed the plan according to our requests. The staff completed the installations the same day and did a great job cleaning up once they were done. The staff were polite, professional, and kind. We love the results and have received many compliments.

Wow, the paver patio and steps look beautiful. Their workmanship and professionalism was superior. Freddie and his crew were great. Top notch installation from digging the hole to the finished product. Always cleaned up the job site before leaving everyday. We plan on having Jobes back to install our irrigation system in the future. We highly recommend Jobes for your landscaping needs, you will not be sorry

French drains are so effective that other neighbors are having it done via Jobe's. Landscape work has been a great enhancement to the beauty of our home. Work has been done since April, 2016. This was for several projects. There is a reason we have had Jobe's come back for more.

Jobes was very clear as to start date and amount of time needed. Rain delayed project but Jobes communicated postponements.

We couldn’t be happier with the project Jobe’s Landscape completed for us. The results, which include two dry stack stone walls with tree and shrub plantings at the front and sides of our house, are beautiful! During our first meeting with Jobe’s, co-owner Joy Tomer interviewed us to learn our plant and color preferences. The resulting proposal included a photo-realistic design plan and an itemization of all costs. The work progressed quickly, even with the added complexities of coordinating with a neighborhood controlled irrigation system and a torrential downpour during weekend intervening their work. The crew was courteous, adaptable, and worked diligently throughout the project. When the project was finished our landscaping and the surrounding grass were pristine. Ms. Tomer even came to our house two weeks after the project to walk us through the name of each plant and the short and long term care requirements. We absolutely love the outcome and are happy we selected Jobe’s Landscape.

This was my second year working with Jobe's and it went beautifully. Jobe worked with me to expand the planting beds they established last year, making great suggestions as to plant material and design based on the basic concept I had, including some suggestions to help keep the cost down. They also adjusted the irrigation system that was installed by another contractor (came with the house) and replaced a few plants that didn't make it through the winter from the rather extensive work done last year - no questions asked. They are easy to work with, trustworthy and do excellent work.

Jobe’s Landscape did an exceptional job in landscaping my new home. They did beds all around my house and planted four trees. Joy Tomer was a pleasure to deal with. She was innovative and flexible with her design (loved the picture design). The staff was great, hardworking, very polite, and on time, even though they worked through very very hot June days. Unfortunately, one bush and one tree didn’t make it through the winder, and as per their guarantee, they replace then in the spring and are doing fine now.
