Emergency Services Offered
Services we offer
Sump pumps, dehumidifiers, vapor barriers, drainage systems, all types of foundation repair, inorganic basement finishing. All products come with at least a 25 year nationally backed and fully transferable warranty.
Beware if you have to cancel after the time limit of three days allowed for contract cancellation. They will not refund any of the 25% deposit that you gave them at contract signing under any circumstances. $532 in my case. I realize that a contract is binding. Due to health reasons we have to remodel the 1st floor bathroom at considerable expense so that we can live on the first floor. Not being able to ascend the steps to the second floor seems to be in the very near future. I did not expect a full refund. Not a very friendly way to do business! Going to contact the state Attorney General's office for a chat about this 3 day contract thing. Stupid me.

The salesman came out and he assessed the whole situation. We both went under the crawl space and we discussed why I was having so many problems with my heater. It is so clean in my crawl space now I could store things down there. Once they encapsulate your crawl space they put a humidifier down there and they run any moisture out through your foundation and it maintains a constant temperature in your crawl space. It would be highly recommended to. If your heater is in your basement or crawl space you are going to have issues every year because of all of the moisture. It is pricey, but it is a good investment if you are going to stay in the house you are living in. It is a good return on investment. It has stopped the constant HVAC calls. It saved me a lot of money in repairs because of all of the moisture that was there. They come out once a year. They break down the dehumidifier and clean it out and then put it back together to make sure it is working.
Description of Work: They came out and put in a whole dehumidifier. They sealed the crawl space. They removed the insulation because I don't need it anymore because it is kept at a steady temperature. They encapsulate your crawl space with a particular type of material, the walls, up in the joist, the floor. The dirt is completely covered.

The estimator was thorough. The only (minor) quibble that I had was that he was a little overly optimistic about the most likely start date. The actual start date was a few weeks later. However, the rest of the repair was done on time and in a professional manner. I hope I don't need this service again but, if necessary, I would hire Dry Zone.

The installation went well. Big issue was the lack of urgency on the part of DryZone to come and do the work. The quickest they could do the job was 2 months out. This is a new home build and we were very concerned that water would breach the below level entry before they got out. They are very non-emotional about their scheduling, that is is and it is what it is. They try to spin this by saying that they only have full time employees and that is why they are so booked. This isn't rocket science. They should consider fixing the lack of response to their customer as this significantly effected how we viewed the overall value of their service. We felt like we were playing "Russian roulette" every time it rained and we help up other work that needed to get done under the house this this could get done. Overall no empathy or options offered. They do however offer to call at a moments notice to come out, if they have an opening for some reason. Of course this is for their convenience and filling their schedule....the whole process was phony. They also were the only group in the area that I could find that installed the TURTL product. I also feel they charged too much for what was basically non-skilled work. I was happy with the final work and would use they for future work due to the products they carry that others don't have. Love hate relationship.
Description of Work: TURTL waterproof crawl space entry door (for below grade applications) and air tight crawl space vent covers.

It was amazing. From start to finish the job was perfect. We called DryZone to get a free inspection of our crawl space. We knew there had been some moisture under our home but never knew the extent of the damage. We had rarely ever gone down there. Amazing service started with our first phone call. We spoke with Amber - she was so kind and answered all of our questions. She even followed back up with us to make sure that we remembered our appointment. Lucky she did because I had totally forgot and needed to reschedule! Before the inspection we were sent information about the products and crawl spaces. it was very interesting and informative. Derek came to the house and went into the crawl space. He was so friendly and funny. We felt so good having him in and around our home. After the inspection he was able to show us pictures of the crawl space, so we didn't have to get down there with him. He even showed us a video of our floor joist that were falling apart. We were able to see the mold and the wood rot. He explained that the mold is from the moisture and that air could be coming up into our home. My husband has had some serious allergy issues and now we know why. The mold under our home was invading our air in our home. He gave us suggestions on what we can do. We never felt pressured to do anything. We were able to talk about the options and what we wanted to do. We checked with a few other companies in the area, but none of them could provide us with the information that DryZone gave us. We felt comfortable going with them because they sounded knowledgeable and experienced. We got back in touch with Derek a few days later and decided to go through with the encapsulation. When the crew arrived, Mario greeted us with a smile and just like with the initial inspection, we felt great having these guys around our home. They cleaned our the old debris, installed the insulation, and the clean lining. After the work was complete they showed us pictures of the crawl space. It was BEAUTIFUL! I couldn't believe that it could look that amazing. In October, we had a Nor'easter that caused flooding to our area and came right up to the house. After the storm I sent my husband down to the crawl space to check on things. To my disbelief it was completely dry. I couldn't believe it. This is what solidified it for me. This company promised me my crawl space would be dry and that is what they delivered. They saved my home. I am so thankful we spent the money and took care of our home. I am so happy.
Description of Work: We had our crawl space encapsulated. We also had them instal a sump pump, dehumidifier, and battery back up

About a 1000 sq ft crawlspace was encapsulated and a dehumidifier was installed. DryZone arrived as scheduled and finished as planned. There were no problems. Since this is a summer home, I am unable to make further comments until such time that I return to this home. DryZone made the best presentation and submitted the best proposal. Their price was the highest. That is why I gave them an overall "B".
Description of Work: Encapsulate the crawlspace.

Description of Work: They repaired a crack in the foundation that was leaking a bit from groundwater. It looks like a quality job but only time will tell after a few good storms. So I really can't rate the effectiveness of the work. The consultant seemed very knowledgeable and I trusted him. 1) The first problem was that the technician was to be at my home around 8 am. I called at 9 am to see what happened and was told he was on his way and would be here momentarily. I called again at 10 am when he still hadn't arrived. They started to tell me he was on his way but agreed to check with him. They called back and told me he was addressing an emergency and would be at my home at noon. Around 12:30 he showed up with no apology or excuse. Later he told me that when he arrived at work at 7 am he was sent to another job as an emergency. So the DryZone manager should have called me right away and he did not, which is a waste of my morning and rude. 2)The technician said the work would take about 2 or 2 1/2 hours. It took him 5 hours. Thank goodness I hadn't made plans for the day since the work tied me up from 8 am to 6 pm. 3) I gave the technician a check for payment. A week later I got the invoice in the mail and had to call and inquire. They said they had just gotten the check from the technician. They should have some sort of process where I'm not billed for paid in full work. Not a biggie but another example of poor communication and/or processes at DryZone. 4) It seems the technician used my glass topped table as his work table. There is a huge gouge in it now. I didn't notice it for a week since I don't go down to my finished basement very often. He shouldn't use customer furniture.

Description of Work: Dryzone installed a sump pump in our crawlspace. The service included mold removal and drying the cement block/clay floor space plus installation of a remote switch, battery back up and newly designed floor mat. They have been extremely professional and prompt during the installation and yearly follow ups. We have had no problems with the system and highly recommend Dryzone.

It went just great for the first couple of years. They were personable and caring. We recommended them to friends and neighbors and paid for a maintenance agreement. Then things went really bad. There was a storm which caused flooding and they refused to help us. Told us that it would be a couple of weeks before they could pump out the very deep water underneath. No assessment was done, just "sorry, can't do it". We hired someone else to help us pump out the water. Several days after we'd had the water pumped out, they did send someone over to look under the house. Move forward several months, we had our home lifted (because of the flooding) and an addition put on. They gave our contractor a bid of $14,000 to re-do our crawl space!! The area is not that large, (around 1500 sq feet)!!! Our contractor asked them to salvage some of the equipment prior to lifting the house so we could save some money. He reported to us that their response was it wasn't worth their time. We won't do business with them again.
Description of Work: Originally, they encapsulated our crawl space, installed a sump pump & dehumidifier.

They did not do the work for us.
Description of Work: The salesman was informative and helpful. He gave us a price that included humidifier and sump pump and digging a small trench about 2/3 - 3/4 around the basement and install a french drain with an outdoor relief for the sump pump. It appeared that they would do a good job for our home. However, we decided not to use Dry Zone because it was a good bit higher priced than we intended to spend on this project.

This letter is in response to the grade we received on Angie List in August 2013 by [member name removed]. On March 12, 2007, DryZone was contacted to inspect and quote [member name removed] crawlspace. I, Bill Anderson, inspected the homeowner's crawlspace and informed him of the necessary steps to correct the homeowner's concerns of moisture and odor. [member name removed] signed a contract for work suggested and made a deposit. [member name removed] was happy with installation and paid remaining balance on May 8th, 2007. [member name removed] called on August 23rd 2010 informing us his sump pump alarm was going off. Our service technician inspected and took pictures. He suggested a remote alarm and explained several issues causing water and odor that was out of our scope of work. There was a 2” pipe which was not extended through the wall for the HVAC line causing water to spill into the crawlspace. Our service technician also suggested a door to the entrance and a well drain. Our service technician installed a new remote and placed a bucket at the door to catch the water. Homeowner agreed, signed contract, and paid for service at that time. August 21st, 2012 a reactive appointment to replace the filter in the dehumidifier and homeowner paid for service. September 18th, 2012 homeowner calls in to let us know there is a bad smell coming through the vents. We sent our design specialist who suggested a new SaniDry air system and engaged in a service contract. Customer obliged. On October 4th, 2012 homeowner still has a foul smell. We proposed an entrance drain and EverLast door. Customer agreed and signed contract. We installed on October 25th, 2012. The homeowner calls on November 2nd, 2012 needing entrance cleaning. We inspected on November 19th, 2012 and found the well dry with a few leaves. We removed leaves and suggested a grate to cover. [member name removed] called again on June 11th, 2013 and still seems to be having a musty smell. We went out on June 12th 2013 and changed filter, sprayed shock to treat for any possible microbial growth, and found the wooden cover was rotten and was trapping smell. Suggested removing the insulation, fog the entire area and add a lid for the large well. Customer wrote letter explaining situation with the smell which we received on July 11th, 2013. An appointment was set up for Bill to inspect situation on July 25th, 2013 and the homeowner called to cancel. We have suggested several items over the course of the years and pointed out areas of concern to the homeowner who waited to the last minute to follow our professional advice. In our contract it states customer is to contact us within 24 hours with any concerns of their system. Service is required every year. DryZone has gone above and beyond trying to help this customer correct the issues and have responded to all of his requests quickly and efficiently. We have always taken care of our homeowners from the minute we started our company and will continue to do so. We cannot however allow a negative mark on our business when a customer decides to not take our advice and have work corrected that is not in our scope. I am shocked and appalled that Angie's List is so quick to judge and label us with a negative review without hearing both sides of the situation. I have a very large file that documents we were very responsive to this customer's needs and suggested these issues be corrected early on. I still would love to help this customer and protect his investment.

I received a call a few days in advance of the repair date and another one the day before and was told they would be there the next day but it may not be until noon since they had a couple of other jobs in the area. They arrived a little after 9 and explained the other job was missing a part which would be delivered later in the morning. The work took a longer than they estimated, but they were extremely thorough in their work and took digital pictures at each step of the process which the technician showed me at the end of the process. I was extremely impressed with the technical folks for their politeness, knowledge and willing to explain things to me.
Description of Work: They fixed two water leaks in my basement, one on either side of the basement. The fix was well described to me by the estimator and was installed exactly as described.

We had several contractors out to inspect our crawl space and give us recommendations for how to fix the problem and cost estimates. While we did get some cheaper estimates, they were for proposed band-aid solutions that didn't address the root of the problem - that we have poor drainage and almost always had at least an inch or three of standing water down there. Our Systems Design Specialist, Mike, gave us so many choices and was honest about what he believed was overkill and what needed to happen to fix the inherent problem. We never felt like he was pushing us to do anything we didn't want which is so refreshing. He took his time - visiting us at our request several times before we signed any contracts. When asked what we should do if we have any plumbing or electrical work done that causes a rip or tear in their product, he said to just give him a call and they will come down and repair it themselves at no charge to us. There was only one other company which even offered a comparable solution and they were not only $5K more expensive, but we didn't feel their solution was as thorough. And when asked about fixing tears in their liner, we were told we'd be given a roll of tape to apply. As another reviewer said, this isn't cheap, but it's most definitely worth it to protect your home or investment property.
Description of Work: We had our crawl space sealed, a sump pump installed, and a dehumidifier installed. They also removed all of our old insulation which had mold growing on it and even checked the moisture content of our subfloor to make sure the moisture in our crawl space hadn't begun deteriorating the foundation.

Thank you for the comments. We believe that there is a lot of value in the products and services that we offer. For instance, the vapor barrier we use carries a 25 year nationally backed warranty. When you take into account that "cheaper" systems will need repairs and won't last as long, the value really starts to show.
