Description of Work: Replaced air exchanger blower motor. Problem was diagnosed and repairs made promptly. Repairmen had brought replacement motor based on information given when I made the original call for service, which saved a second trip. Very conscientious in saving the customer additional charges. Service men were polite, and explained repair work thoroughly. Scott's Refrigeration gets my highest recommendation.

 + -1 moreThey were here last week. One of the veins stopped working on the air conditioning unit and I got up and cleaned it. I found some wires were cut and some mice crawling. I called them and they came out. What it was was the mice crawled from the outside in the electric wire when it goes outside of the house up to the attic and then it goes in to that wall-mount unit. They sprayed up the plastic to protect the electric wire that mounted on there. They had the tiniest of holes but they got through it and got in there and they were eating the wires on that. It took about an hour to an hour and a half for them to fix it.They charge about $80 an hour. They spent over an hour but I think they charged us an hour. It was two guys and an assistant. I would use them in the future.
Description of Work: We have used Scott's Refrigeration & AC again to fix our air conditioning unit. They had it rewired and they cleaned it.

Description of Work: Scott came on a Saturday to look over the situation that included a non-functing Mitsubishi copy-cat HVAC system that had already had been costly in repairs in the three years that I'd had it. He and other HVAC people had declared that the part needed to fix the system did not exist. He came right away; spent more than a hour discussing the situation and what he could offer as well as talking about children and issues that we shared. He gave me an estimate and returned two days later with a written proposal. He explained everything, the systems he offered, the financing process that was available and what would be involved in his removing the defunct ductless system. He understood that I needed to consult family members and my financial adviser before signing the proposal and was patient with that process. He then rushed to install the heat pump/air handler that I selected before another heat -wave arrived. I feel that he is an extremely honest, ethical person, and I would refer him eagerly. I am looking forward to tomorrow when I will have a new York heat pump and air handler with flexible modes of payment and be saved from the expected 111 degreeheat index!

 + -1 moreThe company who installed our heat pump for us had told us that the leaks were in the coils of the furnace and that we would need a whole new furnace. We had Scott's come out and they found the leaks right away. The other company wanted to charge us for a new furnace right away stating that the problem was in the coils. Scott's told us that they didn't see any reason for a replacement furnace and took care of the issues. All the leaks were in the outdoor unit, not the indoor unit and really had nothing to do the with furnace. Scott's did a great job with the repairs and were very professional. Their price was very reasonable for the job they did.
Description of Work: They found four freon leaks in our outdoor unit where it was installed and they replaced a valve for me and repaired the leaks.
