This is an outstanding company to work with. They made extra-ordinary effort to help u get this up and running by an up and coming house settlement date. All personnel were extremely personable and professional Halt, the owner was concerned about estimates and noise (it is very quiet) and more to the point to locate the fan away from our patio area. Quality: Too soon but their guarantee is terrific and we have no reason to doubt the quality of the products, Quality of service A+.

.I used them last year. It was a year ago. They were very professional. They way they conducted themselves. They did a lot of explaining. It looks professional. they did the least amount of damage to my house. They only went through one wall and that was it. They came when they said they would. The price was within range. I would use them again.

I highly recommend Next Step Environmental Service and Matt (Matthew, company president) for Radon Mitigation service. When Matt first contacted me, he said he would rather see the area before giving me an estimate to better determine if any access, electrical, and/or special circumstances exist that may affect the estimate. I prefer this to a random assumption. When Matt arrived, he was not your suit and tie salesman! A big plus for me. He took a look at the area to accommodate a standard setup with an electrical source inside the house. We then walked around the yard and he explained how the system would look. He also pointed out settlement / shrinkage cracks in the foundation inside the house and a larger crack in the foundation in a crawl space (general cracks of no immediate harm - but a source of radon gas). He said he would fill / seal any cracks or gaps that were visible during installation. The installation day was a Saturday. Matt and a co-worker arrived on time with everything needed for the job. They got right to work taking ~2+ hours to complete the job, including cleanup. Matt was a pleasure to talk with, took time to answer any questions, and made sure the work was done properly. And, he worked alongside his co-worker!! A very hands on president - always a plus. His immediate competition (on HomeAdvisors) called after I had talked with Matt and asked several questions then said over the phone, sight unseen, "the work would be $1200.00 - give a call if you would like our service"! Well, needless to say, I was already impressed by Matt, his demeanor and the feeling of dealing straight up. Plus, he checked the site out before committing to an estimate and came in $305 lower than the competition. I had done some research on the issue and the competition would have done the exact same thing to remediate the problem - Next Step Enviro. used the same technology and industry standards that any company would have used. Highly recommend this company and Matthew Winslow, President!!

We did not go with them because we were concerned about the noise level and they did not seem to be able to troubleshoot that for us. He was professional, but then when I had a concern after that he did not seem concerned and did not address it. So we did not go with them.

We called for estimate on attic remediation. Company is very far away and does not work in our area, which we did not know when we called. But owner was very helpful in advising what to look for in selecting local remediator, and spent 25 minutes on the line giving advice. He also told us that if we could not find one in our area using Angie's list, to call him back and we'd work something out for him to do the job. Most professional and helpful. If he were local, he'd be at the top of our list.

I got three estimates from companies recommended on Angie's list and all were in the same ballpark. The company our realtor recommended never came back with a proposal. Next Step's price with a $50.00 coupon, and the ability to get the system in fast were the primary reasons I selected them. Matt was very professional and explained exactly what needed to be done. My radon level is now 1.2, so the system is working fine.

They came out promptly, got it done in a day and I have nothing bad to say about them.

Matt and Joel finished the installation in the morning. They arrived within the 1 hour window they had given. The whole process was made very easy by Matt and his team. Heather was friendly every time I spoke to her. What stood out the most was that, unlike the other firms which estimated this job, Matt took the time to hear out all of my concerns and thoughts regarding the job, from technical performance of the system to location of the components to the aesthetic of the visible parts. The other firms dismissed my input and "told me what was good for me." Unfortunately, the first attempt did not succeed in reducing levels to below the EPA action limit of 4 picocuries. Matt spent the next 2 weeks making regular trips to my house and retesting at his own expense until the home achieved final compliance at 2.2 picocuries. He even substituted a larger radon fan at his own expense. In short, he guaranteed the system and lived up to the guarantee. I was very impressed with Matt's dedication and professionalism, as he recognized that the sale of the home hinged upon this testing; at the end of the day, the system performed as expected and the hiccups did not impact the closing date of the home sale.

They have excellent customer service and they ask questions. They ask for preferences, they do not just come out and do it. They actually got feedback from me before they did the work. They were good. They did work for me on another house too and they did a really nice job there too. I would like to give them an "A" across the board.

It was perfect. Matt and Heather are very responsive and helpful. They reduced the price with the coupons they were offering. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Matt and his assistant were very professional, the install looks great and everything was explained and cleaned up afterwards. We also had him install a sump pump (an additional $525) as we had the hole, he would have had to seal it, and there was some water in it even though we had never had it overflow. That is working fine too. He explained everything we'd need to know about the sump pump, how to visually check that the radon fan is still operating, and I feel much more at ease about the radon. We haven't yet completed our follow up radon test. Our average prior to the mitigation was 7.7. I will update with those results when they are available.

Great. Came on time & as promised. Very thorough & neat. Professional.

Mold was found on my basement ceiling after insulation was removed. This occurred on Sunday 12/9. I started making calls to companies I found on Angie's List that afternoon leaving messages. Heather from Next Step was the only person to call me back, which she did promptly on Monday. She was very concerned with what I described and had Matt come out that night to see what I was dealing with. Matt looked around & the problem was worse than I had originally thought but he was very professional and assured me they could take care of it. I received a quote the next day. It would be a 2 day job and they could fit me in the end of the following week. Unfortunately when they arrived I was home sick with a bad headache but their work did not even bother me! Joel & Dennis set up & went to work dry ice blasting my basement. My basement has never been this clean (not even when I bought it last year!). I cannot begin to describe how happy I am with their work. The wood looks like new & I know that I can breathe easy down there & it will no longer aggravate my allergies & asthma. If you have a mold problem, call Heather & Matt!!

I called the office and Heather listened to my concerns. She rearranged Matt's schedule so he could come and evaluate my situation sooner rather than later. Matt came and evaluated my problem areas and we agreed that we needed some additional information which I am in the process of getting. We also agreed that once we had that information, Matt will come back and remediate.

Mr. Matt and his co-worker arrived on time and completed the work in an exceptional manner. They were very professional (same for the office staff). They cleaned up the area after the work was done.

I could not have asked for my experience with Next Step to go any better. Matt and his guys showed up about 15 min. early and were done by 1 pm. The installers were very professional, and didn't seem to mind me checking in with them on occasion. They were also very willing to answer any questions that i had, and were very clean. I felt quite compelled to give them each a tip. Matt was extremely helpful in every aspect of the project, he was also very accessible for questions between the initial walk thru and the actual installation (this was within 1 week) despite the fact that he and his wife had a new baby boy within that same time period. Matt was so understanding about the dire need for this system to be installed quickly (our level tested @ 68.5), because my wife and I had only 12 weeks prior had our first child, that my wife and i were compelled to get some gifts for his children. Overall our experience was excellent and we would use them again if needed.

Matt was very responsive from our first call. Estimate and work was completed on time. Installation was explained fully and the work was done neatly. We had a small problem with the pipe being slightly crooked. They were back the very next day and fixed the problem to our satisfaction. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needed their services.

We made the working area available and ready for them.They arrived at 8 am on Saturday morning and brought their equipment into the basement.They made a routing hole in the cinder block and an exit hole in the side of the house just above grade, next to clothes dryer duct and the sump pump discharge pipe. Vacuumed up all dust and bits.Prepared the sump pump metal lid for the new piping and installed a window in the lid so that we can monitor the water seal from the de-humidifier.Insalled 4 inch piping, with a removable coupling for future maintenence of sump pump and securely fastened all piping.They silicon sealed the cover and all pipies entering and exiting the system.They showed us the manometer and explained that this is how we will know that the motor is running and the system is a go.The final result was a reduction of Radon from 29pCi/L to 0.6pCi/L.This 0.6 exceeded our hopes and their quarantee.
