Heather (Matt's wife and office manager - with great hair - she said-) was very easy to deal with and quickly set us up to have the system installed. We were under the gun because closing date was quickly approaching. They were out the next day. Sealed up the basement (as best they could around all the junk laying around) and installed the fan. They were confident the levels would be down to where they needed to be. Unfortunately, when the follow up test result came back it wasn't quite there. They took this in stride, came right over and sealed up the remaining cracks now visible since stuff was moved out, put in a bigger fan and gave me the new test kit. They are fantastic to deal with, very polite and professional yet still have the personable touch to their business. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We were in the process of buying a house and during the home inspection the Radon results were high. It was a very difficult situation with the sellers and Heather at Next Step was a HUGE help with that. She also took the time to explain everything to me. Matt installed the system with no problems - was on time and at the quoted price. Results came back very low - so all around very pleased!

We had a radon level of 4.1, just over the limit. All that we needed was a slight reduction. The post-mediation test just came back with a level of 0.9! Everything about this company screamed professionalism, from initial contact through to job completion. Heather would call to update us of the arrival time of the mediation team for both the estimate and actual job. During the estimate/walk-through, I think I learned more about radon from Matt than I could have after spending a day on the internet. There was no question as to what they were going to do. On job day Matt and his team showed up and again did a walk-through to verify that their initial decision of where to put the pipes was optimal. The interior installation is completely invisible, hidden in the corner of a closet. You have to stick your head in the closet and turn your head to know it's there. The exterior exhaust is clean and in no way detracts from the appearance of the house. After job completion I couldn't tell they were ever there, except for the exhaust pipes. And of course the extreme reduction in radon in the house. I placed the post-mediation test far from the installation point so the test verified a reduction for the entire house. This company is a class act. Highly recommended.

Next Step was terrific from the first phone call to the completion of the radon reduction system and follow-up retest. They were very responsive and effective in an extremely short time frame, which was essential to meet the requirements for settlement on our property. They really know their business and take the time to explain the process before, during and after. The retest showed that the problem area was almost completely radon-free and the system is very quiet and in an out of the way location. We are grateful for the professionalism and fantastic service from Heather, Matt and Michael on this project.

Matthew arrived on time with assistant and completed work is very professional manner. He answered any questions properly, described test, remediation is working well.

Called several radon guys. Heather from Next Step was very friendly and easy to work with. Appointment was made with Matt. No charge estimate. Estimate was right on. Matt was on time, efficient, clean and focused.

Initial callback was quick and very helpful. Initial site visit was thorough and thoughtful, setting clear expectations and offering workable options for outdoor pipe/fan locations. On installation day, the job was done quick, professionally, as promised. Before leaving, the system and retesting process was clearly explained. What more could you ask for? Well done!

From estimating, executing, completion, to retesting, this provider (Matt) did a great job! He actually didn't come on our first agreed upon appointment to estimate the project due to an error in his email. However, he compensated me with a small discount as a token of apology. He explained that it was just a one time thing since his partner was out of own and he had to double up. But other than that, everything was fantastic. Would definitely recommend his service!

Very easy appointment set up, on time, comprehensive but thorough. Verbal review and quick turn around (that night) for written estimate. Took the best approach aesthetically and navigating the obstacles in basement structures. Very pleased with professionalism from start to finish.

Heather and Matt are by far the best! Heather spoke at length with both myself and my husband about the systems and how it all works-- she returned every call promptly and was available all day and night. As someone else said- we were lucky to find them! And Matt's work was beautiful and clean... Other contractors have complimented his work as well!!

All work quality was satisfactory to excellent. The parts used appear to be of high quality and are very energy efficient. Our post reduction radon levels were exceptional. He was very professional.

Amazing! What a hardworking couple, from the first chat to the installation, they were quick to respond and easy to talk to. We know very little about the radon system, Heather and Matt helped us figure out the type of system, talked with us the entire time and sent an accurate quote proposal for the work to be done. I can't stop talking about how wonderful they are, I would recommend them to everyone! It's nice to work with a family business, they have your families best interest in all of their work and commitment.

Matt and his team did an excellent job installing our radon system. From the start, his wife Heather provided us with exceptional customer service, listening to our needs and scheduling appointments (for the estimate and the service itself). On each visit Matt and his team were early to both appointments. They completed the work with exceptional attention to detail. Our basement radon level went from 6.0 to 0.7.

Dealing with Matt and Heather was one of those rare contractor experiences - they are both responsive, friendly and professional!!!! After promptly receiving a detailed proposal after the initial test, we scheduled a mutually acceptable time and date, and Matt and his assistant arrived right on schedule. They set about the process of installing the new system, and in about four(4) hours were finished. They kept us informed during the installation process and were accommodating to our few inquiries. They were thorough in their identification of potential areas of radon ingress, sealing same with state-of-the-art materials. We are 'neat freaks' and their installation exceeded our expectations [we had a radon abatement system installed in a prior NJ home circa 2010 by a different contractor and were very disappointed in the sloppy work]. Next Step respected our property and were extremely careful when bringing materials in and out of the home. We were very impressed with Matt's professionalism, knowledge, commitment and concern. Upon completion, he provided an overview of the system as well as provided a detailed explanation of the post-mitigation test kit. That test is on-going for 48-96 hours waiting 24 hours after initial installation, so we do not have the results; however, we expect them to show a marked improvement in our radon level. As an aside and coincidence, our daughter's inline radon fan failed. After completing our installation, he drove to her home, diagnosed the problem and installed a new fan that very afternoon. She was equally impressed with Matt and his work. Bottom line - use this firm, you will not be diasppointed.

Arrived on time, actually early. Got right to work, after placing tarps on floor, and completed the job quickly. Explained what they were doing and how the system worked. Matt actually helped me carry some drywall to the second floor, which was really helpful and not part of the job. Cleaned up nicely after themselves and were great to work with.

Matt was excellent, on time, professional, hard worker and cleaned up nicely. Call to company, a nice lady was very helpful and knowledgeable. An excellent experience totally! Felt "lucky" to have found them.

Next Step Environmental did a great job. Initially they came to my house and did a thorough inspection, they were very knowledgeable and explained everything clearly and in detail so I would understand the work that needed to be done. Then on the day the work was scheduled to be done, they showed up on time, and were very professional and worked efficiently. They did a neat and tidy job and had a great attitude about working around obstacles in our overflowing basement. I feel confident they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the job, and we are!

We would use Next Step for any future issues.
