Jeff did an excellent job, he completed all the projects I needed done quickly and efficiently to stay in my budget. Would definitely hire again.

In short it was awesome!, they promptly returned my calls and came out for and estimate and scheduled the repairs shortly after. They were able to complete in one morning what it would’ve taken me 3 days to do! They were kind, super professional, and honest. These guys saved me a lot of time, money and headache and I can’t thank them enough and would hire them again in a second!

What a breath of fresh air to find a contractor with skills, integrity, an interest in doing the job right and reasonably priced. That sums up Jeff and I wish to add; one of the nicest people I have met in a very long time. I write reviews on the good and bad - when I write a good review it is because I hope I save others the heartache I have experienced by hiring the wrong guy. This is one of the good guys.

When i contacted Jeff, he told me he had not done one, but was willing to come out and see if he could make it happen. I told him the company that sent the replacement said it was a "do it yourself" and was not difficult. Although it was certainly was NOT a do it yourself job, he and my partner were able to install it. He and we tested the screen and he did not leave until we were satisfied. He assured us that if there were any problems with it, to call him and he will come back. Jeff arrived on time, was personable and professional. He did good work and his price was very reasonable. We asked him about other services he provided and we are definitely calling him back to do some other work for us.

Good service - fixed a hallway light that had a short in the wiring and replaced a bathroom fan motor.

He was very professional and knowledgeable. Some of the work that had been done by another contractor was incomplete and also improperly done. Jeff completed everything and corrected the mistakes and, although his estimate was higher than others, he left us feeling confident that the job was done properly.

Mr. Ortiz was both professional and knowledgeable about the work he was doing. He took the time to explain what he was doing and why. He was also both polite and punctual and seemed to take genuine pride in the work he was doing. Mr. Ortiz is a one man band, so you know that he is not just going to send an employee but will either complete the work on his own or as in my case with a helper who he supervises closely. The work he did for me was exceptional and I would definitely use him again.

Excellent service by a professional with expertise in all types of home repair. Thoughtful, courteous, and always left everything clean and orderly. Highly recommend this home professional.

We had a shutter blow off of our home in the last major snow storm and I looked on Angie's List for a handyman. I read Jeff's reviews and called him. He answered the phone (a big plus--I didn't have to leave a message) and we talked about the job. He was in the area and drove by our home and called me back to let me know he could do the job. My husband was going to be home the next day and Jeff generously accommodated us and fit us into his schedule and came out that next morning. I'm one of those people that is embarrassed if a shutter is missing from the front of my home so I was very grateful to have the situation fixed as soon as possible. When Jeff arrived at the home he told my husband how he would attach the shutter and how the job would be completed. My husband really appreciated this approach and that Jeff explained what he would be doing--communication is important. When my husband gave Jeff the payment, he gave us a receipt. We are very pleased and impressed and have a long list of handy man jobs and plan on contacting Jeff to complete all of these jobs. My husband and I are not handy and have been needing to find a handy man for quite a while so I'm glad I finally came on Angie's List to find someone.

Jeff is very friendly and easy to talk to. He is also very knowledgeable about a wide variety of home repairs I am glad that I was able to become a customer of Jeff's and I would most certainly recommend him to anyone that is looking for a good, reliable handyman. Thank you.

As always I search Angie's list when I need work done around the house. I looked up electricians and called at least 7 of them and to make a long story short if they called me back at all they made me feel like the job was too small for them. I was given a time frame of 2-3 weeks for an appointment. I understand that it was not an emergency but having 10 outlets not in use due to these two GFCIs was a huge inconvenience. I noticed that Jeff, The Handyman did electrical work so I gave him a call. He called me back and from the beginning of the conversation I knew this was going to be a good experience. He was polite and acknowledged that the issue must be an inconvenience and said he could come out the next day. He called prior to his arrival and completed the work without issue. I was working from home that day so he worked with my nephew and together they kept me updated. His pricing was fair and honestly half what some of the other electricians quoted me. I will be calling Jeff again as I have several other projects now that my house is 10+ years old. Thanks for the positive experience!

Removed and replaced porch hand rail

There is always a little anxiety in choosing a contractor to take on a substantial job like the one that I needed help with. Since the repair job was at a rental property that I live about an hour away from I searched Angie's List to help me find somebody credible. After doing so, I could not be happier! Jeff responded to my call on a Saturday morning and was nice enough to stop over within 2 hours for a courtesy assessment. This was valuable to me because it communicated to my tenants that I knew that they were inconvenienced by the problem, and that I was serious about getting the repair done quick. After Jeff did his initial assessment, I met him at the rental property a couple of days later to scope out the project. Upon meeting Jeff I could tell straight off that he was a solid guy. He walked me through the project and gave me what I felt was a very fair and detailed quote. Jeff completed the project yesterday and sent me pictures via email to document the project all the way through. If I had to summarize my experience with his services, I would say that he was prompt, professional, reasonably priced, and a high-quality craftsman. I was so pleased with my experience, that I plan to use his services on any future projects and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Was impressed with Jeff's professionalism. Received prompt return phone calls when making inquiries as to getting repairs done. Was also prompt in his arrival to complete the work. Took the time to look over several different areas in my residence, where I was concerned that repair might be needed. We settled on the tasks to be completed during this visit. He promptly took care of three separate repairs in a timely manner and with attention to detail. He also took the time to explain what he was doing and answer all of my questions. He was very professional, pleasant and easy to talk to about home repair. Additionally, his assistant was very pleasant and professional. Would definitely recommend him.

He called to let me know he was on his way to my house and arrived about 10 minutes ahead of scheduled time. Did all the repairs I needed and made a few suggestions of some things I should replace. He was very professional, courteous, and friendly. I am very pleased with his work and would call him again if needed. He takes pride in his work and even called me later to make sure I was satisfied. I called him on a Wednesday, and he did the work the next day! Other handymen have had me wait one or two weeks.

While Jeff is a nice man he used Ron Pearce's company to do the tile and is ultimately responsible for the entire job. I was unhappy with the quality of the work and my vanity was damaged. After giving three chances to meet my expectations, and my vanity suffering further damage, I decided to not have them come back. Upon close inspect of the tile tub surround the tiles do not all line up properly. This means that visually the lines of the tiles vary and the grouting lines have varying thicknesses. The grouting is incomplete, leaving holes in some areas. The tiles around the water temp valve were not cut large enough to allow the outside hardware to be installed. The plumbing leaving the underside of the tub leaked. The stopper in the tub was not installed correctly. The floor was not leveled prior to the tile floor being installed. The tile floor has many high/low spots and does not have consistent spacing between the floor and the tub. My toilet is unlevel and leans forward due to a high tile. My vanity was installed on shims. After having another contractor to my house I learned that some of the materials used on the tile tub surround were likely not grout. The possibility of improper materials and the inconsistent lining of the tiles and grout lead me to have no choice but to replace the tub surround. I have to now have the entire tub surround redone, tile floor replaced, and have to purchase another vanity. I am very unhappy and unwilling to have this contractor or Ron Pearce's company in my house again.

Jeff arrived promptly, was very courteous and professional. His motto is and quot;We can make that happenand quot; and he did make everything happen. He has one more coat of spackling on the ceiling where there were 3 holes from a replaced light. It already looks great, and he isn't done yet. Once painted, it will look perfect, no sign whatsoever there were 3 holes there. He has installed countless curtain rods for me, and made it work when products were not as they should be. Anyone else would have told me to get someone else, or get something else, or live with it, but he didn't. He made it all happen. My sunroom has valances and beads, and it looks great! He gave me a complimentary assessment of the gutter downspouts and we have implemented his suggestions. When I have him come back to finish the ceiling, I will have him put hardware on the bathroom cabinets, extend a sump pump drain, and install a curtain rod in the 2-story foyer. I will have him give me an estimate on work I need done in the garage, and the cost of a deck. We are truly satisfied with Jeff and would not consider going to anyone else to help us out. There are no surprises, everything is left super clean, he is very friendly and knowledgeable, and that's why we plan to have him come every time we need something done.

Contacted Jeff about the job. He was able to come over that afternoon since he was in the area. The I underestimated the time needed to get the closet up to a point I could take over by myself. This was my error since I worked with Jeff the entire time with no breaks taken during the three hours of talking down the shelving the builder put up, hanging horizontal and vertical tracks and installing the top row of the shelving.

He was very helpful and polite, he worked with me around the problematic weather to get in and fix the steps. He stayed in contact with me, and the first day of decent weather he did the work. He removed the old steps so I wasn't left with any trash. I was very satisfied with his quality of work. I am looking forward to getting him back to doing other projects once the ice and snow events are over.

Jeff gave us a reasonable quote on the phone to replace the fluorescent kitchen fixture we thought was *gone*--we had ptrbioudly replaced two burned-out four-ft. fluorescent tubes with new, still-in-cellophane-wrappers; apparently problem was not the fixture but faulty and quot;newand quot; tubes. He diagnosed the problem, he replaced them with other fluorescent tubes in the basement, VOILA! AND THERE WAS LIGHT!! He reduced his fee considerably, since he had already made the house call (a bit of a drive for him) and everybody was happy. We will be using him again on a exterior problem he spotted on his way out and for which he quoted a very fair price.

Jeff did a great job fixing my kitchen sink issues. I just bought the house and the plumbing under there was not installed properly and the disposal kept leaking. I decided to go with a regular drain instead and Jeff was able to add and remove pipes in order to fix the plumbing issues. Everything works great and no leaks! Jeff was very professional and I felt safe with him in my house. I am a single woman, so that was very important to me. He also taught me about basic plumbing, which will be very useful in the future. I highly recommend Jeff the Handyman.

I called Jeff and asked him to put caulk around a second story window that was leaking. He told me a price of $50 per hour which was fine. He said his man was on another job, but would come late the next afternoon. He did not. Jeff called me the next morning and said he was sorry. the other job was taking longer then anticipated but that his worker would definitely be here in the afternoon, around 3PM. Jeff said he would call me with a more exact time. I have never heard from Jeff again! Now the weather has been too cold to do this job. |I had previously had Jeff do a small job at my house and was satisfied with his work and his price. I can't imagine why he did not call back . Certainly that is not a very professional way to keep customers and get good references.

I had old rusted wrought iron handrails that were sunk into the concrete porch and stairs. Jeff cut off the rails, then sanded the area till it was flush. He then filled the holes and sealed them. He pressure washed the porch and painted it. He then dug holes beside the porch (and stairs) and put in posts with cement. Vinyl hand railings were then installed on each side of the porch and stairs. The transformation was amazing! Also my water faucet next to the porch leaks so I had to go into the basement to turn on the water for them. Jeff noticed and asked so I explained that it leaked if I left it on. He then told me there were a few vinyl spindles left over and that he would return them for credit and get a new faucet and come back and replace mine as part of this job. That is what I really like about Jeff, he goes that extra mile to make sure you are happy with his work.
