I am now going through a nightmare trying to get the $2500 deposit back from this person. Ryan has continued to make excuses and has not shown up on multiple dates to complete the work that he agreed via our contract together, I must now resort to take legal action to resolve this matter. Furthermore, I fully intend to contact the Delaware Better Business Bureau and lodge a complaint against Ryan Cooper and Dover Handyman LLC. I have more than ample documentation to support my claim. Also, because it seems that he simply refuses to contact me with nothing but excuses, I also intend to contact our local news affiliates to do a segment regarding the local citizens who are taken advantage of by local businesses. I am confident that once they are contacted, receive the documentation, and have their cameras at my home to see the condition he has left my deck in for the last 45+ days, that it will draw some serious interest. I fully intend to give him negative feedback / reviews on any and all websites so that others may avoid the service, or lack thereof, that I have received through Ryan Cooper and Dover Handyman LLC.
Description of Work: April 13th I Contracted Ryan Cooper aka Dover Handyman Service LLC 1153 Woodstock Court Dover, DE 19904 302-222-8517 to fix an existing deck that had warped/rotted and fix a shed in the back yard that was also in the same condition. $3850 was the total of the completed project of which he request $2500 up front. He informed me that he would need 6 weather friendly days to complete the job in total. There have been countless days where Ryan Cooper aka Dover Handyman LLC not only promised to work and did not show up but that were beautiful sunny days. Woodruff promising a refund on Thursday May 31, 2012. Ryan never showed up. At this time, the deck is still unable to be walked on. There are only a few boards located at the end of the deck. The only work that has been accomplished onsite is that the old deck top has been ripped off and now sits in bag dumpsters at the front of my home. There were a total of eight times that Ryan contacted me letting me know he would be coming to my house to work on the project and simply did not show up. To date, Ryan has only been at my home an estimated 3 days and spent less than 6 hours even working on this project. My disappointment and frustration with Ryan and Dover Handyman LLC is immeasurable.
