I am reporting on a job done at my sister's home, much of which my mother and I paid for. She has agreed for me to post this due to Brice's unwillingness to respond to her concerns. Brice initially seemed friendly and trustworthy. In doing the remodel, he initially seemed willing to work within hard financial limits, and we were clear with him that we only had $18,000, but his $18,000 bid, ended up costing a total of 25,000. As the job progressed, there were several obvious problems, for example, the roof leaking into the new windows and onto brand new carpeting at the first rain storm. He attempted to fix the roof again, and as we went into a dry spell, it wasn't clear at the time that he hadn't successfully repaired the problem. When his employee did the siding on the home, it was done improperly and when my sister brought it to his attention, he had his employee correct the issue. While doing the job, he asked for money before payment was due, per the contract, so he could pay his employee and meet other expenses, and he was paid in an attempt to get him to complete the job. He was already running weeks behind, despite the original clarification that there was a concrete deadline for the job to be complete, which he never met. Once the job was complete, he was paid in full as agreed. Shortly after completion, the rains began again and now the windows and roof in 2 rooms were leaking. After repeatedly calling him for 2 weeks, with no return calls from him at all, he finally spoke with my husband, and stated he had actually come out and fixed the problems. Then, we noticed a problem with a piece of siding falling off, and again began calling and asking for him to repair it, as this was still within weeks of him having finished the job. In 6 weeks, he has agreed at least twice to come out and handle it, and hasn't, and now he refuses to return calls. In my most recent message, I asked him to please do the right thing, pointed out that it would take a matter of minutes, and that we would be posting this on Angie's list and also will see a lawyer, if he wouldn't return our calls. We still have not heard from him.
