Very prompt in looking at work and making bid. Took the time to discuss various aspects of cooling systems including different motors available in the air handlers. When everything was agreed upon they arrived on site, on time, in a few days to do the work. Removal and installation went smoothly, work site cleaned up when finished, and explanation provided as to how system operated. Also they respected our new carpet while in the house.

I had a very good experience with K&B HVAC services. Here’s what I really liked working with them: 1) Three years ago I did a new AC/Heat Pump system in my Washington DC home and I’m still dealing with some of the issues of the install. As a consequence, I was very involved in the details of this job. Karyn (the K in K&B) really listened to what I was trying to achieve and specific details I had in mind. Most of the other vendors I talked to we’re much less inclined to consider some of my requests. I’m not an HVAC expert, and they signaled that to me in almost every discussion Karyn on the other hand, really worked with me to figure out a more efficient duct layout to reclaim storage space in the attic and explored ways to eliminate the overall mustiness in the house that I was concerned about. 2) They gamely took on the permitting requirements in Rehoboth that are more stringent than Sussex County DE overall. Karyn took the time and had the persistence to complete the permitting and inspection process in a way that complied with local requirements and maintained good relations with the permitting office. This was their first Rehoboth install and they really learned how to get it done. 3) They also went through the process of learning and completing Delaware’s Energy rebate program. I got several thousand dollars back on the install and they doggedly worked the process to get me through it. Again, this was their first time doing the rebates, but they learned it and got it done. 4) Finally, they did an efficient and professional job on the install. They even helped out moving in the incredibly heavy hybrid hot water heater. They went the extra mile thinking about the details of the placement of condensate drains, use of flex and hard duct material and mounting the units to minimize vibration. Brett (the B in K&B) accommodated my requests for special removable sections into the crawl space area and worked continuously until the job was complete. The systems been running three months now without issue and the improvement in air quality is huge. Everyone says that the quality of the AC / Heat Pump design and install is more important than the brand of the system itself, Rheem is considered a mid-tier brand, but I am far happier with it than the high end Carrier system I have in DC. Five year Warranty is the same for each brand in any case. I shopped around (online too) and their price was very competitive. In short, I highly recommend K&B.
