Holcomb was contracted to install our new kitchen and floors in our family room, hall and powder room. Don the owner was very easy to work with and did an excellent job designing the kitchen. However, when we had callback issues after the installation, we we're completely ignored. For two plumbing issues (an improperly installed toilet and leaking faucet) we were referred to the plumber they subcontracted and were told by him to seal the faucet ourselves and that he did the toilet as a favor and wasn't going to fix it unless we paid him. A subsequent callback about discolored tile and discolored cracking caulk were ignored by Holcomb. We were asked by Holcomb if we used the maintenance kit and instructions that we were given for the tile installation -WE WERE NEVER GIVEN ONE. The installers Joe Ward and Bob Power are the best craftsmen I have ever worked with and I would recommend using them and their company Joseph Ward Remodeling

Response from Holcomb Cabinetry
We did work with the [Member Name Removed] on their kitchen around the time mentioned above. But there are a few things that that seem to be omitted from their account of the project. One thing to keep in mind is that when we finished the project, the customers were gleefully happy with the work and professionalism of everyone involved. I don't think they would contradiction that. With regards to the callbacks [Member Name Removed] is referring to - they occurred 4 years after the completion of the project. I personally spoke with Mrs. [Member Name Removed] and discussed their claim that the faucet had been leaking for 4 years. My first question was to ask why they waited 4 years for them to call us. Her response was that they didn't want to bother us. It seemed a little odd that someone would allow a faucet to leak for 4 years before placing a call to see if there is anything that could be done. The second question was to ask her if she thought it was reasonable to expect someone to replace a leaky faucet they installed 4 years prior - considering the usage and damage that can occur in that timeframe (I don't know any plumbers that would return 4 years later for free to fix a faucet). Her response to this was that it didn't matter when the leak started or how long it had been it was our fault. Upon being informed that we disagreed with her assessment she immediately started yelling and insulting me. We did eventually come to the understanding that we ([Member Name Removed]/Holcomb) just simply disagreed. Furthermore, I did personally follow up with Mr and Mrs [Member Name Removed] after that conversation to see if they wanted a list of plumbers in the area that could check out the faucet for a reasonable price. I did not hear back from them after I left that voicemail. I'm not sure what Mr [Member Name Removed] means by "seal the faucet". That is not something that is typically done with kitchen faucets. Also, no toilet issue was discussed at the time Mrs. [Member Name Removed] and I discussed the faucet. The subsequent call about the time - this is the first I'm hearing of that. Maybe the [Member Name Removed] spoke to my father and he never made any mention of it - although that would not be his Again, if that call occurred after the call regarding the faucet it must have been at least 4 years after the completion of the project. For one to claim they remember what was given to them 4 years prior is a challenging feat. Given that, by their own admittance, the quality was an A and assuming the [Member Name Removed] don't deny the above mentioned timeline - I find a responsiveness grade of F to be quite an exaggeration at best and flat out untrue in my opinion. Nor do I believe that anyone in our company showed anything but the utmost respect to the [Member Name Removed] at any time. I think that professionalism grade is a reaction of the customer's emotions and not a true reflection of our professionalism. The [Member Name Removed] are good people. Before that conversation in 2016, every interaction had been a pleasure. I wish them the best of luck in the future and hope they still do enjoy their kitchen as much as they said they did after the project was completed.

Up to date, bright showroom to start getting ideas and seeing a range of cabinets, hardware, etc. in place. Don Holcomb, Daryle, and Mitchell are all very cordial, hardworking, and don't try to upsell things. They stock a range of cabinetry from the very budget priced, but attractive, Fabuwood, up to accommodate different tastes and budgets. We didn't really re-design our kitchen space - so I can't speak to their design expertise, although in speaking to several of the people who were references, the reports were all positive. Holcomb also gave us a list of contractors they recommended. We invited two to make bids (after speaking with all their glowing references), and went with one, Glenn Gilbert, of Ivy Construction. He was excellent. We replaced cabinets and countertops though Holcomb and are very satisfied with the results. Daryl was our contact with the countertop folks (we went with granite) and was always responsive by text or call. Don was generous in letting us borrow a sample cabinet door for sometimes long periods of time so we could use it in picking out floor time, countertop, backsplash material. Everything was timely, and when the cabinets arrived, we weren't ready, so Holcomb kept them safe and dry until installation day. On that day, we discovered one corner cabinet was too wide - where the error was made is unclear, but Daryl and Don didn't hesitate to immediately install a temporary one the correct size (so we could move forward with the countertop measuring), and re-order a different size without worrying about how the error was made. Also, we ordered shaker style cabinets in maple with a chocolate glaze. The glaze was very nice and smoothed out grain. Unfortunately, one door had a small splotch of chocolate glaze that bugged me, and, again, Holcomb just ordered us a replacement at no charge. Anyway, we found the whole process much less stressful than kitchen remodels can be. I will say, we often rode herd on things, but that's because 1) we always work that way, and 2) we were ordering floor and backsplash on our own, coordinating with our contractor. We tend to take lots of time deciding sometimes the smallest details, but we never felt any impatience on their part. An honest company. We now have a lovely kitchen
Description of Work: Replace cabinet and countertops as part of kitchen remodel that also included floor and backsplash. Did not need major design services however, so I can't comment on that.

Excellent service. Daryl Holcomb, in particular, was very helpful and patient. All of Holcomb's subcontractors were professional, courteous, and on time. Cost was competitive with big box stores and service was far more personalized than it would have been from one of them. I highly recommend Holbcomb Cabinetry.
Description of Work: Holcomb Cabinetry managed the majority of our kitchen renovation (we took care of painting) including ordering and installation of new countertops, installation of a backsplash and a new sink with materials we provided, and electrical upgrades.
