Dermot Hagen and his crew were wonderful. Prompt, courteous and trustworthy team of craftsmen. They made it possible to live in the home while work was completedl with daily cleanup and storage of materials. When design challenges arose (as they ALWAYS do in an older home) he was patient to let us figure out how we wished to proceed, offering suggestions from his experience and listening to our ideas. When desisions were reached they were implemented swiftly and allowed project timelines to flow. The workmanship was excellent and the final results have received nothing but positive feedback. Would deinitely recommend and use again personally!!!

Dermot Hagan is a true professional--on time, punctual, and performed the services as discussed. He worked every day (4) until complete and cleaned up after himself as he went along. His recommendations made the upgrade easy and uncomplicated. I will hire him again for my plumbing and "handyman" needs.

Work performed was very complete and with professionalism. Dermot not only performed the installations, but he found a defect in one of the outdoor lights, and directed me to properly exchange the parts. He returned on another day to install the replacement parts. He also referred me to manufacturer support for the faucet, to prevent any future issues. Dermot Hagan is the man behind Emerald Isle. He lets you know exactly what he is going to do, and what parts he will be using, and then does exactly what he says. He is not cheap, but competitive. I have used him on two occasions and was pleased both times.

All went well. Work was done in a timely, professional manner. Results were as promised. One problem with one garage door turned out to be minor, and quickly remedied.

Emerald Isle Services is exceptional. When we call, if we have to leave a message (rare), he promptly returns our call. Though he is quite busy, he is usually able to accommodate our time frame. It is obvious he takes extreme pride in his work. Each job is done with careful attention to detail, and completed in a timely fashion. When he is done, he takes away all remnants of the work (parts of pipe, debris from job, etc.) so that the area is left clean. We have absolute confidence in Dermot. He is extremely knowledgeable. He is professional. His prices are reasonable. And he is honest. We have been so pleased with his service. We highly recommend him.

Approx. 14 mos. ago, while recuperating from knee surgery, I fell & broke my arm. Also have a lot of spinal nerve damage & muscle weakness & have trouble walking & standing- & that's when I'm doing well. There are ambulation devices in every room in my rancher home; so you can't miss them. Service tech also agreed to replace bathroom sink, line old shelves & replace hardware pulls & fix side door because rain comes in at top of stormdoor & runs on the floor. Dermot never called & never came back except for bringing a "door specialist" here 1 day, who told Dermot it was a simple matter that he (Dermot) could fix himself. Needless to say, I never heard another word from D. since that day 2 months ago. Besides those health problems I mentioned, I found out recently that I have lung damage & serious heart problems. Cleaning house got behind with the knee surgery & broken arm & I desperately need help, in the areas of cleaning but also maintenance & repair jobs around the house. There's an Angie's List housecleaning offer available that I will buy today & I would never call D. for a job again. He blithely said to "clean up this mess by the door" (leaves & such" to someone who can't make a move to do anything without a certain # of hours of bedrest, planned in advance.

Dermot did a great job installing the new sump pump. He was very responsive and came right over after I found my old sump pump had burned out and heated up all the water in my full sump pit. He confirmed my choice of sump pump brands and returned when I received my new sump pump to install it a few days later. He was prompt and extremely efficient. He is so helpful and did a great job. I am very pleased with his work and professionalism. He makes you feel like you are family and treats you the same way. I highly recommend this company and working with Dermot. My previous sump pump had a battery backup system which would only last a few hours and routinely alarmed for various reasons. Dermot shut off the main water intake and ran a line from the existing water supply line to power the back up and installed both units professionally - looks and works great. The prior sump pump plumbing had been incorrectly installed and actually froze once this past winter. He rerouted the plumbing so that the water drained correctly and secured the plumbing and water line to the wall to provide stability. You can obviously tell that the job was done by a pro. Dermot did a great job at a reasonable price and arrived exactly when he said he would. He was also happy to teach me a thing or two about plumbing and entertained me with his dry Irish wit. He took his time and did the job right and was definitely focused on his work and not in a hurry to get to the next job. I will definitely be using his services in the near future. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a good plumber or handyman.

I called Dermot because of a leak I was seeing in my utility/laundry room. He was extremely prompt in arriving and quickly diagnosed the issue. While out there he noticed that two of my shut off valves were not up to code and should be replaced since I was selling the home. He quickly got me scheduled and did an amazing job replacing everything. His work is spectacular and he is a great guy that is willing to walk you through each step in the process. I have worked with a lot of contractors, electricians and other service providers while preparing my house for sale and Dermot far and away has been the best. I have used Horizon and a few of the bigger guys but I will never use them again after finding Emerald Isle. Just a great plumber.

I was extremely pleased with the work Emerald Isle provided. They responded to my message immediately and set up time to review the projects and gave an estimate. When they said they would call back they did, when they said what time they were going to be, they were there. Emerald Isle discussed many options for me to think through on the replacement of my shower hardware. After having a number of estimates, Emerald Isle was the most reasonable and I appreciated the way they had many solutions. I had them review my bathroom for ideas on a remodel and they provided so many ideas!! I am looking forward to working with them in the future!

Mr Hagan worked with the City of Wilmington to replace a water meter that was sized and installed incorrectly when it was initially installed. Additionally Mr Hagan installed a whole house water filter and water softener. I provided the filter and softener, and Mr Hagan ran all the pipes. Additionally when the meter was dropped off, it was discovered that the city had provided an improperly sized meter bar for Mr. Hagan to work with. However, Mr. Hagan was able to redo some of the pipes and rectify the issue. I am very pleased with the work Mr. Hagan did, and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dermot showed up as scheduled to provide an estimate and for the oven install. He and his helper were prompt, courteous, and completed the job without any problems. I was very happy not to need three separate installers (electrician for the new outlet, plumber for the gas line, and carpenter for the cabinetry). Pleased with the results.

After many calls to many highly rated plumbers, Dermot was the only responsive one of the group. I requested him to come and take a look at my project to see what the project would cost, after an in-depth review, Dermot gave me a price to perform the work, plus the cost of parts. At that point he was very accommodating when scheduling a time to come and do the work. The work was performed quickly and professionally. He was extremely informative during his visit as he knew I would be tackling the rest of the bathroom renovation on my own giving me advice along the way. Overall, Dermot is hands down the best plumber I have ever worked with I look forward to continued service from him.

Mr. Hagan was very accommodating to my request to have the work done before Christmas. He and his partner were very courteous and friendly. Their work was thorough and efficient. I'm happy to have found them.

I was also very pleased with the work completed by the owner, Dermot Hagan. He was very efficient and adept completing the plumbing work. He came over to inspect a leaking shower faucet. The job ended up being much more involved than I anticipated. However, he was able to perform all the work, replacing the faucet, shower head, and tile work for the shower. Very well done. Have had him back already and probably will again.

He looked at the work to be done, explained what he would do, and provided a prompt and very reasonable price for the job. He is a very personable and efficient man who knows what needs to be done to give you a quality job. I have another job that I will be having him do for me and would highly recommend him to others. I understand he also does other handyman and carpentry work.

From initial contact the owner was professional. We were provided detailed contract within two days and work was done on dates and times agreed upon. I have referred this provider to family and we have plans to use the provider for additional work.
