Upfront I will say that my experience may not be typical as it was as part of a very large neighborhood lawn mowing program and not an individual service. The provider bid on the lawn service contract for our neighborhood and was the lowest bidder ($10/cut/house). Pretty unbelievable price and many were scratching our heads thinking how they could do it for that price. Anyway, the neighborhood signed up and I was part of the program. I will not comment on the whole neighborhood experience other than to say that from what I heard from others, their experience was similar to mine. Cuts, when they happened, were ok at best but no trimming or edging was done (or was very spotty when done), large tufts of grass were left uncut here and there where spots were missed because they were in such a hurry. Sometimes grass was blown off driveways and sidewalks, other times not. Service was spotty, even when weather was totally fine. One time, they only cut the front lawn and not the back. Large spans of time would go by with no cuts and the grass would grow and grow. It was almost comical to walk through the neighborhood as you could easily see which houses were in the lawn program and which were not. They were NOT reliable and the work was not good. They would say they would be out one day and just not show up, and that was a recurrent theme. You might say, "Hey, what do you expect for $10 a cut". Well, my answer would be I expect what was written in the contract and we did not get it. Clearly, the provider bit off more than they could chew with our neighborhood program. Maybe a single customer who is paying more gets better service. I can't really say but I can say that our neighborhoods overall experience was not good.
