The price was good. They were prompt but I am having issues with the quality of the product. I have left 4 messages and called his office 2 times. They can't even return my phone calls. Alex Evans (owner) called we resolved our communication issue. They came Friday the 12th to pressure wash away the white problem areas. They came back Saturday the 13th to seal the entire new pavement area. They did a great job as they did on the original job back on 6/18/2014. I have gone back and revisited the ratings I gave them after our communication issue, I have know reason not to give them straight A's. This company is one that did a great job and has stood behind their work. I go back to my original comments and would recommend Evans Paving to anyone.
Description of Work: They repaved the driveway. They repaved and existing driveway and installed a new driveway for our motorhome garage.
They got us on the schedule fairly quickly but came out and started work prior to my husband's arrival home from work. They had been told call before starting work, and my husband left work to meet them immediately. They NEVER should have started work without the homeowner present. Driveway looked great - at first. Then the problems started. We couldn't put our brand new heavy pickup in the garage for almost a month after, as turning the wheels to make the tight turn caused the top surface of the driveway to crumble. We called them and was told that would "settle down". it was almost as if they didn't compress the blacktop enough. They had been told at the time of estimate that we also had a heavy fifth wheel trailer we would be backing in the driveway. They told us to keep if off bro about a month and it would be fine. The top surface is very loose and porous and 7 months later I am still sweeping tiny bits of blacktop out of the garage. Four months after the install, the cracks started, and now we have 4 cracks running across the driveway - two in the same place the old driveway had cracks. And the new area is starting to disintegrate, I fear in time that whole side will crumble away. At this point in time, the new driveway isn't in much better shape than the old one was. Their equipment also left scrapes on the concrete floor of the garage. They specifically told us we had one year to seal the driveway, and we did not have time to do it before the weather turned too cold for sealing. We have made repeated calls to them for over a month now, with no response or desire to come out and even look at the driveway, let alone make it right. We finally received a call to come out and look at the driveway. They said they would be in the area and would come take a look at it and were supposed to call. Upon arrival home from work that night, we found they had once again entered our property and worked on the driveway without our permission OR knowledge! They also left our outside water hose running for who knows how long! They cut out the end of the driveway and cut out portions of the side area where the addition was crumbling and repaved. They left and totally ignored all the cracks running across the driveway. This was NOT what we wanted in a resolution. We now have a "new" driveway that does not look much better than the old one did! They tried to tell us that the patches would "blend in" - HA. I have seen patched blacktop and the patches are always prevalent. We NEVER would have agreed to letting them cut up the brand new blacktop. In coming on our property with out our permission, they were outright trespassing. When my husband got home and saw the driveway blocked off - to the point we could not even get the truck out of the garage due to the new blacktop - and we needed to use the truck - he called and raised the roof with them. They didn't seem to care. The only resolution we could get was to have them come out and tar the cracks and put a sealer on the driveway. I have also seen patched cracks - in time the patch does no good. We also waited the prescribed time to put the vehicles in the garage, and once again, have marks from the truck tires on the new surface of the sealant. We also have marks now at the end of the driveway where we think the neighbor's lawn service ran across the drive and made a sharp turnaround. I have never seen such shoddy work, nor a company so unwilling to make an obviously bad job right. The driveway should have been torn up and totally redone from new. I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: Called a few companies for an estimate, decided to go with Evans Paving. We asked them to widen our driveway about a foot and we needed a larger parking area.

Received an email with an "I'm sorry for not responding I have been busy ,what is your contact number?" Phone number was supplied and it was quite awhile to get a response.I did finally get a call from a sales person named Rachael,I gave her my address and explained the needed driveway repairs, we settled on a day for her to give me a options and a price, this was Friday April 17 ,Rachael said she would call to tell the time she would be here.I never received a call and no one came over ,I waited all day and had my phone close so as not to miss a call. The day was rain free a.Tried to call the number back that Rachael used and there was no answer and no option to leave a message. This is so typical of the Delaware contractors, by going to Angie List I figured I would avoid this poor service. We are thankful for anyone who reaches out to our company for are services but this review is completely inaccurate. This gentleman did ask for an estimate on repairs but not sealcoating or paving repairs only. After a couple days, because we were very busy, Rachel our estimator did contract him and they agreed on a meeting on Friday. Rachel went to his home at the specified date and time and he was not home and could not be reached on the phone after multiples calls She left because she was unclear on what he wanted done because the driveway was a 2500 ft long lane that was fairly new and repairs were not apparent. He said she should have left an estimate for him if he could not meet but she told him there was no way of determining what he wanted. We have apologized and offered to meet on his terms and do what we need to make it right but he is still displeased so we are still trying to work with him on making it right but I don't know if it will help.

It could not have gone better and I was 100% satisfied from start to finish with this paving company and their work. I cannot imagine ever calling anyone else for my paving needs in the future because I have found the perfect company in Evans paving.what a great experience and what a great job they did for me. This company is not the cheapest company in town but you get what you pay for and the owner is willing to work a little bit on price if he can. I didn't like his first two prices that you gave me and then we came to a final price that was very good for both of us. The owner is very understanding and he wants the work so call him. You really don't have to call another paving company because this one will satisfy your every desire and need. Absolutely love this experience and that is rare and the construction and contractor business. I will recommend this company to all my friends and family.
Description of Work: Took up old driveway 18 x 18, repaired graded, and put down all new asphalt and rolled driveway. This was a complete driveway replacement. The owner came out and saw me after he receive my message the same day, and he had the crew here two hours after he came here to do the job, talk about fast. The crew was very professional and had a lot of experience. The job was done in two hours and completed. I really enjoyed how fast the owner responded to my call and then responded to my need to fix it immediately. This job was kind of like the perfect timing for everyone, and this job is almost like a wow factor for me. I was very impressed with everything. When it came time to pay the next day the owner allowed me to put my payment on multiple credit cards with no problem, and he even said he would give me a discount if I pay by personal check, which I chose not to do. I would highly recommend this company to anyone and I hope you choose Evans paving because I was extremely pleased from start to finish. If you're serious about getting something done please call them.

They did a great job from start to finish. Could not be more satisfied with the finished product. The only issue we had was after it cooled an area showed some signs of discoloration. When we contacted Mr Evans he knew what the issue was from. It came from the roller on a steep incline. They came back out and sealed the entire new area and it looked great.
Description of Work: They did a large new area leading to a new garage. They also overlaid entire the existing driveway. The new area was to be a 3" finished driveway to support the weight of a large motorhome. When is was finish there was at least 3" and probably closer to 4". The overlaid area contract was to be 2 1/2" when finished, the finished driveway was closer to 3" to 4".

Prior to hiring Evan's paving I had requested that they do a particular section of my driveway which was under a fence. I reviewed it with them a few times and was told more than once that it was not a problem. About a week went by and then I received a phone call at 9pm saying that they plan to do my driveway the very next afternoon and there were no other times available due to their schedule and weather. Ok, went outside and made sure the driveway was free and clear at 9:30 pm. Came home the next day, the driveway looked great however the section under the fence, which I had stressed to them, was not done. I contacted them about it, had to send pictures to more than one person, and was told there was a misunderstanding and they don't do small sections like that. After a brief discussion I was told that it had to be reviewed by Mr. Evans himself. About 2 days later, and after a few follow up calls and texts, I received a text message saying that they would be out sometime in the afternoon to complete the missing section. Later that afternoon............nothing. No call, no show. Sent them a text message in the evening to see if they were still coming.........no response. The next day, without any warning, I receive a call from one of there workers. He's at my house and my dog is in the yard so they cannot complete the job. Luckily the worker was patient enough to wait for my wife to arrive home. 4 days later, my driveway is 100% complete. They did a very nice job however the plan was to hire someone in order to save me a headache but that didn't work out so well.

They did a fantastic job. The pricing was good and they are very reliable. They were done in about three or four hours. Jessie responded the same day I called for a quote. She scheduled an appointment and was on time. She examined the driveway, prepared a written estimate and reviewed it with me. We agreed on a date to do the work and she called the day before to let us know the work men would be there in the afternoon of the next day. Early afternoon the next day Alex arrived to introduce himself and let me know they were on a job near us and would begin our work in an hour or so. He came back about an hour later to let us know they were running late but would definitely be there and get the job done. We had to leave the house and when we returned a few hours later the driveway work was underway. The workers were professional, courteous and did a great job cleaning the street when they were done. I would definitely recommend Evans to anyone needing minor or major repairs on driveways, parking lots, etc.

My lucky day! My doorbell rang and it was Evans Paving, just happening to be in the area. My first thought was that my driveway looked worse than I thought! I had had it seal coated last year but it still looked bad and a new driveway was on my huge bucket list. I told Mr Evans I ONLY deal with Angie's List and I verified his membership. He offered me $2000 at that moment, and knowing what it costs to replace a driveway, I did a happy dance and accepted his offer. The crew was great, professional, hard working in horrible heat and cleaned up so beautifully, you would never know they were there. My new gorgeous driveway added more beauty to my house. Plus I have a warranty! I am a happy camper!

My father is elderly, so I took on this project for him. Evans Paving met me at the job site within 90 minutes of my first telephone call to them. They gave me an estimate on the spot. After researching and meeting with other contractors on Angie's List, I gave the job to Evans. They were able to rearrange their schedule to begin work the day after I accepted their contract. The job took place over three business days. They even tested to make sure that water didn't pool up again by running some hose water over the spot for about 5 minutes. They also put down seed on the regraded and filled hole, at my request. The only negative, while perhaps minor, was that each of the three days they were late about 30-60 minutes from the appointment time, and on the third date, I waited 2 hours from the time they said they'd be there and then left my dad's house to go to work, but Evans did eventually come and complete the job sometime later that same day. The Evans people were very cordial during the entire process, and were always willing to do what's needed and keep me satisfied. I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: A 100 foot tall tree had fallen at my father's house, and landed parallel to the driveway. The tree had been standing for 25 years in a large and deep hole, but over time the rain and elements must have rotted the roots, so it fell down. Another company removed the fallen tree, but Evans Paving did the repairs to the hole and driveway. They filled the hole (7x7x7 ft) with gravel, rocks and dirt, then compacted it very well, then graded it. They also repaired a section of driveway that the tree damaged, and repaired a years old problem with depressions elsewhere on the driveway that had collected and pooled up with rainwater. Finally, they put on a nice seal coat on the entire driveway.

Bill Evans does a very thorough job of sweeping & blowing away all debris that might hinder adhesion. He even moved things we had left in the drive way against the garage doors. He comes exactly when he says he will, he always gives us an excellent price, & always checks back to make sure every thing is ok. This is the second time he has sealed our driveway. Evans Paving also repaved our drive way several years ago. They do a great job, and we will continue to have them do our paving & sealing/

Mr. Evans repaved my neighbor's driveway and came by to try to get me to have him and his crew do mine. He offered a fair price and after a while, I decided to engage him. His crew did a terrific job of preparing the area and cleaning up and the paving job looks to be as good as can be expected. It took only hours to complete the job and it looks great. After doing to the paving, he told me I should have him put a sealer down which would ensure nothing more needed to be done for 5 years. I wasn't real happy with Mr. Evans not telling me I needed this before he started and the cost, $500 was steep. He finally offered to do the sealing job for half that price and I decided to let him do it. I'm not sure why I needed the sealer and could have probably done the same thing for the cost of about 10 gallons of sealer, but decided to have him do it at the same time. The driveway looks like new and I enjoyed working with Mr. Evans but hope I won't have to see him for many years.

The job Evans Paving did came out great. It is a real thick paving. They had a whole crew that did it all. They had somebody for each aspect of it working away. There were 6 or 7 people working. They did a great job and they were very efficient. Then William Evans came back to check on it, see if we were satisfied and check how it looked. He left his men here to do it and then he came back and checked it. I thought it was a really good thorough job. This company works a lot in the area, so they are very experienced. They are very trustworthy and thorough and they have all the equipment and men you would need to do the job properly. They have the giant roller and stampers. They also do gutters and roofs, chimney and foundation repair, waterproofing, brick and stucco work. They've done big jobs in the area too.

I initially contacted them late in the year and was advised to wait until the Spring and warmer weather to seal coat. During the estimate, they provided estimates for both seal coating and re-paving as our driveway currently has quite a few cracks, "alligator finish", and a low spot that puddles frequently. Given that re-paving is more than ten times the cost, we elected to seal coat for now. When I called to schedule, they agreed to apply 10% coupon to original estimate and scheduled work for the next day. They called when an hour away but showed up close to two hours later. I was waiting for them and noticed they parked at my neighbor's house; thankfully I stopped them or they said they would have started work and given my neighbors a free job! The woman that did the estimate was there at the start and walked the driveway with the man who would do the work; he noticed several cracks that were exposing dirt and raised concern that the seal coat wouldn't fix that. He felt we should re-pave, but the woman said we elected to seal coat and that he should proceed; she assured me that it would "be fine." She left and he worked quickly and did a good job. He left without communicating; the woman returned to check it out and collect payment. She offered me an option to be on their "call list" to re-pave at a big discount if they had material left from a big job since it would just go to waste; I would get a call and need to have the work done that day. I have yet to get a call but have my fingers crossed so as to avoid the big expense of doing it by request.

I initially contacted them to do the work in late 2011 and was advised to wait until the spring for warmer weather. Upon calling again, they kept the same quote and did the work the following day. They (the woman who did the estimate and a man to do the work) showed up a bit later than expected and at my neighbor's house; thankfully I was waiting and redirected them. They said it was good I was there or else the neighbors would have gotten a free job. She left soon after walking thru the job with him. The man had concerns about how some cracks would be covered and she pushed him to do it anyway; the spots where it was dirt were sealed, but still apparent. The only way to fix it would be to redo the driveway, which it 10x the cost of sealing.
