I had a really excellent experience. They were very prompt to come out. He came out and explained absolutely everything. He gave a very accurate and fair estimate. I did have problems with the windows that were installed. I had to have them replaced. They came out and replaced them within two weeks.
Description of Work: I have used Window World of DC Inc. Once the windows were in, they came out and installed the windows in a day.

What started as a decent and engaging business venture turned into a nightmare from the consumer perspective. Admittedly I did check Angies List but decided to go with them anyway based on price and trust in the salesman. I placed an order for four (4) windows on 3/22/2014 and was told that it would take three to four weeks to get them in. Once Window World received them we would then decide upon a a mutual installement date. They went ahead and charged my credit card 50% ($1,038) as a deposit. After not receiving a notification from Windows Wold by the end of April, I (the consumer) called them and inquired on an ETA for my order when, after a second day of calling, I was informed that the measuring person (who measured for my window installation) and a office person responsible for setting up my installation had been fired and therefore nothing ordered nor expected for me at any time nor in the future. Greg (the manager) eventually called me and admitted that they dropped the ball. He said that we would have to start over and send another out to take measurements. Basically start from the beginning. Greg (the Manager) said that they (Window World) didn' t want to lose me as a customer. When I asked how could you charge me without placing an order, there was no response. When I asked for my money back, that was not going to happen if they had anything to do with it. It wasnt until I emailed Nelson, the salesperson (about my issue) and Window World that I received any kind of response. Communication was horrible and clearly only one way - from me to them! When the guy came out to measure, low and behold, it was the same person from the first time! I know because he showed me pictures he took with his I-phone to prove that he had measured. Plus he remembered my home. None of this was even instigated by me! He volunteeerd it all. He didn't understand why he was even back and measuring again. He just shook his head. In addition, I was told by phone, by both Greg (the manager) and Nelson (the sales person) on separate calls, that they didnt want to lose my business and that they would discount my order by 200 dollars and expedite the order. Neither of which happened! When it came time for installation, they at least sent a competent and capable staff to complete the job and get them installed. But true to Window World style, they gave the installers (their own people) and quot;h***and quot; on the phone while they were at the house. I disagreed with the final figure owed but based on my conversations with my sales person and management, the amount owed was not what they quoted it would be. Even the installer said and quot; See how they treat their own people?and quot; In the end, (now it is May 29, 2014) I was charged full price for what I felt should have been discounted for my inconvenience and trouble. Yeah, they went from $1037 to $912 but that is not what we discussed. Greg (the manager) and Nelson (salesperson) both called me on separate occassions and told me that I would receive an expedited order and a $200 credit and not have to pay $175 lead paint fee (and no, I do not have any lead paint -the house was a total remodel job in 2010) - none of which happened! When I confronted Ron Epson, the real manager, he told me that Greg nor Nelson were authorized to give such discount and therefore their comments were rubbish. In short, - communication would have gone a long way - dont wait for the customer to call you , CALL THEM! - honoring your words would have meant much! - treating the customer fairly is the cost of business - making a person wait and additional 3-8 weeks for what was originally only 4-6 weeks is not and quot;business as usualand quot; I will never do business nor seek out business with Window World again. In this world, all a man has is his word, and the people at Window World do not stick by theirs. They will tell you any thing to get your business and then go back on their word once they get your money. At least that is how I expereinced it. A Very Jaded Window World Customer, Ken Johnson

Called and spoke with them back in mid March. Arthur came to my home, demo'ed the windows, went over our options. We ended up going with them over other companies, based on price, and previous window replacement at a rental house that we live at prior. The installer came 04/26, estimated 5 weeks after ordering the windows (within 4-6 week window). They were great, quick to install, and they look amazing. Three guys came at 9AM, and were 100% done by 1PM. Simply amazing. Antonio and his install team were fantastic, and when we contact Arthur to determine a time window, he was responsive, and directed us to someone that could help us. Overall, nothing but a great experience with these guys! Also it was refreshing to have a and quot;No Pressureand quot; sales approach.

After several months of back and forth with Window World of DC, all of the repairs from the initial install have been completed. The initial price was very attractive but there were several issues with the work that was done from a lack of tools on the job to sloppy careless installation. Had I gotten a better response from the company to correct the issues left by their contractor or if they had provided the contractor to do my install that came to do the repairs I am sure I would have rated them higher.

Arrived on time, performed the work to agreed upon terms. The only glitch was that it took almost four days instead of the one day promised. The one day did seem like a stretch but I hadn't accounted for almost an entire week. They did a great job cleaning up each day. There were a couple of occasions when we called them back to fix minor glitches and they always arrived on time and performed the work professionally.

arrived at about 8.30 a.m. and left at 6 p.m. Just a great job for the best price.
Description of Work: Window World (DC) installed 10 windows in the front of our house. We were very happy with the service. One man turned up (Antonio) and did the whole job himself including "capping" the frames.

The Estimator came to our house and he showed up 30 minutes late. He did call to say he was running late. I explained from the start that I would not be making a decision immediately as we were going to get multiple quotes. I also told him no high sales pressure. Overall the Estimator was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. He told us about Window World (the company). We received brochures about Window World's windows and he had a clean mock window to show us all of their features. He looked (not measured) all of the windows that we needed to be replaced (16 double hung in total). Answered most of our questions and he had to get additional information about their windows NFRC rating on air leakage and if they were members of NARI. He called the office and he was told yes. The price quoted for 16 double hung vinyl windows was $5,663 installed. The Estimator was at our house for 2 hours and bragged about Window World's great customer service. The Estimator said he was going to get back to me in the next week about when I could see one of their triple windows that I might consider purchasing. He also emailed me information on their 6000 Series Replacement Windows and Thermal Test information. I emailed him and asked four follow up questions about their glass packages clarification; providing me actual printed copy of the NFRC label for the Window World's series 4000 and 6000 windows; that I could not find where Window World (national or you their office) is a member of NARI; and confirm the foam in the frame is a polyurethane insulation. I have not heard another word or email from the Estimator or company since. Two individuals we know recommended Window World; that's why we asked for a quote. However, one of them has had trouble with the company getting them to return her calls about their completed installation. She had to go to the top individual for someone to call her back; not good customer service. We were about to go with Window World but lack of responsiveness turned us off. We should have paid more attention to Angie's List before calling them. We decided to go with another company who gave me all the information and were responsive to what we was looking for. They also have high-quality performance windows that I was looking for and are rated highly by Angie's List and others to install them.
Description of Work: I went into Window World's Office in Chantilly, VA, to look at their windows and had to set up an appointment with one of their representatives to give us a price quote on double hung replacement windows.

Scheduling went quick, we called them and they came out in one day to provide an estimate and order the windows. The windows came in within 4-6 weeks. They are really efficient and do excellent work. We had an issue with the windows but they were responsive and fixed everything. We are happy with their product.

From the excellent communications from Sales (Ken)...to the flawless execution by skilled craftsman led by Rigo...we are most pleased with the entire project. It was completed on time, within budget, and with the highest level of quality and attention to details. Window World offered the best price amongst its competitors...while providing the industry's best products ranging from the high-end 4000 series windows with Low e and Argon...to the latest in insulated siding provided by Prodigy. The team work long hours, with no disappointments, and were very responsive to any concerns I expressed. You will not find a better contractor to perform a complete remodeling of your home's exterior. A+ to Ken, Rigo, Michelle, and Eric. Call Window World...you will be very pleased with the outcome.

I narrowed Window World of DC down to my final two potential contractors. This was decided on account of price and quality. They offered one of the lowest prices available and many competitors who were more expensive did not offer a substantially superior product. I received quotes from approximately 10 companies ranging from 6000-18000 dollars for my 16 windows. Window World of DC did a great job in selling their product. I was in fact ready to sign a contract when I joined Angie's list and found another window company with a higher rating and similar price point. I had window universe provide a quote which was basically the same. That's when my negative experience with window world began. I explained to the sales rep from window world that I choose another company primarily based on the reviews on Angie's list because in all other ways the companies appeared equal to me. The sales man Arthur, who has received great reviews, grew angry with me and yelled at me on the phone. He put down the meaningfulness of Angie's list. He would not stop his tired and eventually I had to disconnect the phone. He was great when things were going good, but when i decide not to go with him the professionalism went out the door. Thankfully he wasn't at my house. I have had no contact with him since. I might still recommend the company. They appeared to have a quality product at a reasonable price.

We have reviewed [member name removed] comments and have investigated the situation. First of all, we thank you for your feedback. Sometimes, sales representatives get in a competitive situation and get caught up in the moment as everyone thinks they have the best product or service. However, this is not how we train our folks, and thanks to you we have swiftly taken corrective action!!! We hope you will consider us on your next purchase of windows, siding, gutters or roofing needs. Sincerely Greg Deathridge President

5/1/13:Signed contract with salesman Craig Edwards to have two exterior doors installed despite being hesitant because of the company's previous inability to fix a window installed in June 2008. Angelo inspected front slider window and said it needed a part and it wasn’t properly installed.Edwards agreed the window didn’t operate correctly and gave me his word it would finally be addressed. Angelo measured the doors. Christy phoned me later that evening to set up appt. to fix window. I explained that I wanted to wait to have it fixed at same time the doors were being installed since I trusted Edwards' word. 7/1/13: Installers arrived and had no idea about the window issue. Was forced to reschedule after it began raining heavily.Spoke with Kesha to make sure that the crew would have the part to fix the window when they arrived next time. Also spoke with Robin over concerns that the doors had been exposed to rain during the attempted installation and also were unwrapped as the crew drove away with them on the truck. 7/813:Same crew arrived and began removing exterior doors, placing plastic on ground and wearing face masks. At no time was the front doorway blocked off from the rest of the home despite the fact that there was known lead paint around the front door. The front door was installed during rain.Noticed installer working on back door appeared to be wrapping up exterior work despite the fact that the door jamb had not been extended as it was before.Called and spoke with Eric because there was a language barrier and myself and the crew were having difficulty communicating. Asked asked me to put the installer on the phone and I did so.He told Eric it was extra work and told me either the measurer or salesman made a mistake and that they would have to come back and finish the job.I phoned Eric to complain after installer refused to fix sloppy interior wood trim and used caulk to cover it up. I also had to press the installer to place trim over the bottom of the back door interior after he was going to leave it caulked. Asked Eric about window and he said he didn’t know what I was talking about and didn’t know Angelo had even inspected the window. He said there’s no part to fix the window and that if the installer couldn’t fix it while he was there, he would “have to take it up with the manufacturer.“The installer looked at the window and said that he could add spacers to the top of the window, but that if it broke down the road, they would not be able to remove the sliding panels out of the window . Eric said he didn’t like the crew leaving the exterior exposed and wanted to get the crew back out there in a day or two(Tues or Wed.)Before the crew left, we talked about when they could finish the job. Told him I would make either next day or following day work, but couldn’t arrive before 10 am(I live an hour away minus traffic) and needed a heads up so my husband could take off work to watch our kids. Said he would call me. Wrote check for remaining balance minus $300 in good faith, expecting crew to return to finish in a day or two(there was no rain in the forecast.) I refused to sign work completion form until job was complete even though I was asked to do so. 7/9/13: Lead crew member called me and stated that he was “on the way.” I told him that was no good, that I lived an hour away. I told him that I could call my husband at work and see if he could come home and watch the kids and that I could get there by 10 am. He said that was no good, but offered to finish the job without me present. I told him no. He said that he would call me in two hours to see if we could do it the following day. When he didn’t call me, I phoned Eric, who told me the crew could not do it the next day(Wed.) because they had “another job scheduled and had no one else to send.” I told him that I was going out of town Thursday with a return of Friday, he stated that it would have to be Saturday. 7/10/13:Began raining during evening.Steady precipitation continued through Saturday morning.7/12/13:Phoned Edwards because I was upset that doors were exposed to weather and was concerned about moisture intrusion around the new doors and into my home as well since no precautions were taken to protect the work area from the elements.Edwards said he would have to call me back.I felt I had no other option but to stop payment on the check I had written to pay the balance minus $300 once I realized the company had their money and no longer cared about me as customer. When I didn’t hear back from Edwards after five hours, I phoned him.He said that he had contacted the owner “to see what they could do about it.” Received a phone call from Eric who wanted to confirm that I wanted to cancel the crew for Saturday.I said that’s correct, there’s no sense in them wrapping the exterior when I had concerns about moisture intrusion. He said my concerns were valid and that he understood.I told him I was concerned about water being trapped in places that were not exposed to air and possible eventual rotting and mold as well as damage to door frame.Told him that I would wait to hear from Edwards as instructed.Asked Eric if he had a more skilled crew and he stated that he didn’t and this was the first time he was hearing their work described as sloppy. Eric advised me not to wait too long to call back and schedule work for completion because then it was “going to fall back on me.” Eric did not mention how he was going to address the window issue despite his promise to speak with the installer about how to resolve it. 7/13/13: Sent Edwards an email asking that the doors be re-ordered and re-installed. I did not have confidence in the crew's skill level to be able to pull the door without damaging it, so I wanted them to start over, ensuring there was no problem with moisture damage to the doors and my home. Informed Edwards in the email that I stopped payment on the check and that I would pay balance in full once work was completed properly. 7/14/13: Sent Edwards an email with pictures to show how the crew left the doors exposed. 7/15/13:Edwards told me via voice mail I needed to call Eric and set up a time to complete the work and that they were not going to replace the doors. 7/16/13: Received voicemail from Eric calling to set up appointment to finish work. Said that his guys are ready and willing to finish the job. Stated he knows I was concerned about water damage, but that they had left exteriors exposed before and had never had any problems with water. Said that if I waited, water would likely be an issue and that Window World would not be responsible for the labor involved with the job.
Description of Work: I hired Window World of DC, Inc. to install two exterior doors in a brick row/townhouse. To say that I am extremely displeased with the manner in which Window World has handled this project is an understatement. I have lost all confidence in the company’s ability to do quality work in a skilled, professional manner. My exasperation stems from several things that went wrong with this project, including installers unprepared to finish a job in one day, despite the fact two employees measured the doors on two separate occasions and workers were at my home one week prior. Workers did not complete the job in a timely manner, leaving gaps and new door frames unnecessarily exposed to the elements allowing moisture infiltration. In addition, I was given the run-around regarding fixing a warranty-backed window installed by the company in 2008 that never worked properly. I was also unable to communicate effectively with installers due to a language barrier. Adding to the frustration, was a breakdown in communication between installers and Window World Install Manager Eric, as well as sloppy work by installers. Even more concerning is the manner in which Window World Installers handled the lead containment issue during work. Workers did not contain the work area except to lay plastic sheeting on the ground under the doors openings, did nothing to minimize dust and cleaned up with a brush and dustpan despite the fact that there was known lead paint located around the front exterior door jamb per a lead paint report previously provided to Window World. The company even tacked on a $175 fee as part of the Federal Lead Containment Project. Do not hire this company. Either employees really don't know what's going on and are clueless or they are really good at playing the blame game. Once they get your money, they don't care about the quality of their work or doing things right. Take your business else where. It may cost more, but is worth it in the end to avoid the extreme frustration and headaches that are sure to be a part of your experience with this company. Their so-called "lifetime warranty" is absolutely worthless.

We are surprised by how this customer has framed the events surrounding her project! 1. Our installers are Factory trained Therma-Tru door installers and are exceptional carpenters and craftsmen. By the way, we install more Therma-Tru doors than any Window World franchise in the country. (242 Nationwide in 46 states) 2. Proper lead containment procedures were adhered to and we have documenting pictures to prove it! 3. Mrs. X has put this project and her structure at risk by stopping our work in the middle of the install. Mrs. X is the one that kept saying no to every date that was suggested by the crew to return for completion. We have called her repeatedly everyday for a week to get on site to complete our work and she has refused!!! In essence breaching our contractual agreement. You must give a contractor the opportunity to complete their work and any discrepancy that has occurred during the project. We have no intention of refunding money on a project that we have done nothing wrong. We are the Nation’s largest window replacement company, we don’t quit and walk away from our projects – we complete them. This is evident by the most recent press release from J. D. Power and Assocs. naming Window World #1 in customer satisfaction in the industry!! We will await your call to schedule the successful completion of this very important project. Once complete, we expect to receive all monies due. At that time the lifetime warranties will be issued on all labor and materials. And please share on the Band of Neighbors

Overall, it went okay. Several windows were left unlocked when they left. I had to figure out how to align them to lock once I realized they were unlocked. Great improvement over the 26 year old original ones. However, i do believe you get what you pay for.
Description of Work: Replaced approximately 8 windows in my townhome. Don't know how long i'll be here, so i didn't want to spend a fortune. The windows are nice for the money. If I was just starting out, I wouldn't have gone with them. Not impressed with the salespeople. If you want them to take down your existing window treatments, and you think the salesperson is being nice by offering to do so, ask if there is a charge. The windows are tricky to lock. Once opened, you need to figure out how to align them or they won't lock. Wouldn't go with them again.

Overall the salesman was very nice and seemed knowledgeable he came unprepared. He did not bring his brochures or mock window. He told me that he had an issue as his house and forgot his materials. He told me about his product and then gave me a quote. He then said he would return the next day with the brochures and leave them at my door. I have not heard another word from the salesman or company since. Decided to go with another company who gave me all the information and were responsive to what I was looking for.

I want to start by saying that I did a TON of research online to try to find the reason why some window companies charged such exorbitant prices for what other more affordable companies, like Window World, charged. In the end, and after much research, I decided to use Window World because they received such wonderful reviews and their prices were so much lower than their competitors (in fact, in some cases, their prices were many thousands less). It didn't take long to realize WHY so many people were happy with their window purchase through Window World. We moved into our home just over a year ago, and all of the other windows had been replaced (except for three windows and a sliding door in the basement--all of which were painted shut). There was no information on which company was used by the previous owners so we were left trying to find a company that could match the windows that we had throughout the rest of the house. Let me say that Window World was incredible from start to finish. The entire process went smoothly, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to everyone! I contacted Window World through their online form, and within 10 minutes, I received a phone call from the company and was able to set up an appointment with their Estimator within a few days. They offer weekend hours, even Sundays, for everything from consultations to installation! Their Estimator, a very nice gentleman by the name of Craig Edwards, came to our house on a Saturday afternoon and answered all of our questions. He was very thorough with the information on the different types of windows. I was worried that some salesmen can be pushy, but that was NOT the case with Craig. He never once tried to hard sell us on anything. In fact, Window World has a sheet with SET PRICES for all of their products. So you basically pick and choose what you want and the cost is set when you receive your estimate. The prices were amazing, which is why the whole experience felt too good to be true. After discussing the costs, we decided to go forward with the company. A man by the name of Antonio came by within a week of signing the contract so he could take exact measurements of all of windows and the sliding door that were being replaced. He was courteous and done taking measurements within just a few minutes. Three weeks later, we received a call from Window World that our windows were done being manufactured and ready for installation. I work during the week, but Window World was able to put me on their schedule within the week, on a Sunday. This was perfect! A man named Manuel came with a team of 3 men, arriving right on time (just like the Estimator Craig and Antonio who took measurements). Manuel and his team were courteous and professional and worked hard to complete the job in just two hours from start to finish. They were careful not to walk mud inside the house. They cleaned up everything upon completion of the job, demonstrated how to use each window, made sure everything slid nicely and locked perfectly, demonstrated how to remove the screens for cleaning, and the finished product looks amazing. I cannot understand how some companies can charge thousands more for the same final product. Honestly, this has been such a wonderful experience all around. And even better, their windows have a lifetime guarantee and warranty against breakage and seal failure and that guarantee is even transferable to the next owner of the home (for a small fee). In the end, I definitely recommend this company. Everyone is so courteous, everyone is on time, the prices are excellent, and the final products look and work perfectly. A+ rating from us, and we will definitely recommend them to everyone!
Description of Work: We hired Window World to install 3 new windows and a new sliding glass door in the basement. The window in the basement was a custom size, and careful measurements were taken so there were no issues when it was time to install the window. The other two, standard size, windows were in our garage and visible from the front of the home. All of the windows and the sliding door had the Argon-filled, upgraded glass that is energy efficient. All of the windows were the double hung style with grids so they would match previously replaced windows in our house. Window World was able to color match the color of the vinyl-coated aluminum trim around our new windows so you can hardly notice that they were installed five years after the other windows. We were extremely pleased with the professionalism of this company and the quality of the final product. We have been recommending this company to our neighbors, family, and friends who are searching for a window company!

The job was scheduled for two days and was done in one day, meaning they were finishing the work in the dark. When I was shown how to operate the windows, the team leader and I found a casement window with an inoperable crank; to date this has not been repaired. I was also asked if the windows looked good I thought they did-again, it was nightime by then. My wife came home the next day expecting them to still be working on it and saw it was already complete, we both viewed the work in the light of day and were diappointed in the quality of the installation. The windows themselves are fine and seem to be of good quality-the finishing job was horrible in that it looked like a child had done the caulking which was smeared on with excessive gobs noticeable from all angles. My wife contacted the office to have someone come back out to make the job look as good as the pictures in the Window World salesman's book of photos. The local WW office agreed to send someone out to look at the job later in the week. When the Supervisor looked at the work, he told my wife the work was and quot;normal.and quot; When we asked if he was proud of the work, he simply replied it was and quot;normal.and quot; After trying to discuss our dissatisfaction with him I demanded he leave the property as he became argumentative and rude. I then contacted the original sales representative who asked me to send pictures of the work and he assured me he would look into it. Several phone calls later another Supervisor came out and brought a crew to try to fix the appearance of the windows, wrap, and caulking. They tried to fix it but my wife was told that if they removed the caulking to re-do the work it would probably remove the paint from the siding-they had waited to long to repair the work done by the installers who had rushed the job. At that time we gave up. A couple weeks later, still diasappointed in looking at the finished product, my wife again contacted Window World via an email to the District Office and to date we have not received any form of response from them. Throughout there was a huge communication gap as the installation team and the Supervisor who thought it was and quot;normaland quot; spoke limited English and I don't speak Spanish. You'd think for almost $8,000, customer satisfaction would be a goal-IT IS NOT. I didn't give them a 'picture of a check,' I only wanted a job to match the beautiful 'pictures' I was sold on.

We needed to replace one broken and one leaking window, but decided to replace all windows (6) on the back of the house. The rep was prompt and enthusiastic. (Very nice guy, but was a bit distracted). The price was good and the timing for install was great. The installers arrived on time and were courteous and did the work quickly and cleaned up all mess. The one thing I have a problem with is that I repeated many times that the windows must look exactly like the original ones. The outside looks very different . I called to speak to the rep and was not given the right number and was not contacted.

The job was to install a patio sliding door. Pros - price - installers were on time - installation date was as scheduled - installers were fast and energetic - door feels sturdy and seems to keep the cold out - lifetime warranty claimed Cons - sales representative missed the first scheduled visit after i took an hr off work,he was great for the initial visit but felt indifferent afterwards, even missed an opportunity to give an estimate for a an additional window - installers were young and lacked experience when things didn't go as expected - installers went through a live wire with a screw, the wire was just there and not hidden behind the dry wall, installers didn't communicate among each other, had to convince them to remove the door and check for a short as one circuit breaker in our house couldn't be turned on after they partially installed the door. Now we Have a wire fixed with a tape between the door and door frame , they said they'll be responsible if something happens in the future, lets see... - installers were sloppy with the caulking a bit, they used a drop cloth for removing the original door but did not use it when installing the new door, the carpet had dust and white material on it. again, lacking experience and not understanding basic expected behavior when doing an installation in someone's home. I expect that they would send at least one experienced installer per job, you can't send new installers to learn by trial and error on people's homes. Experience is earned by going through different situations, I bet they will never go through a live wire again!

Great job. Window World was recommeded to me by a friend who has used the company to replace the windows in two homes they own. Workers showed up early. They were very neat and efficient in their work. When they were complete, they had me test every window that was installed to make certain each on worked properly. They cleaned up what little mess they created. When the workers left, it was like they had never been there. My neighbors love the windows. The job took only 1 day, just as they had promised. If you are looking to have a Window World rep come out to do the initial estimate, keep in mind they are coming from the home office in Virginia. If you live in Maryland and do not have a lot of time, then you need to make it. There is always the possiblity of lateness due to traffice. If you want to scheudle the inital rep visit, do it early in the morning on a Saturday or mid-moring/early afternoon during the work week.
Description of Work: I had a Window World come out to view the windows I was going to replace, take iniital measurements and provide an free estimate. The Window World rep stated the estimate was a ball park and that another final measurement would be done prior to placing my order. He stated that the I was interviewing other potential window replacement companies. Do not try to schedule service during the summer months. They are very booked during this time. I was able to get my windows in August due to a customer who had to had a scheduling conflict and had to reschedule their installation appointment. Also, keep in mind it takes up to six weeks to get the windows made and delivered. Do no wait to ask questions the day you are scheduled to have your new windows installed. The workers who come to install your windows do not have time to answer all of those questions. I was warned about that. I had a ton of questions for the rep I was working and took care of those issues prior to the installation. Lastlly, be ready for possible weather interruptions. If there is a lot of inclemet weather that has just or is occuring, you will have to reschedule your appointment. Have a second installation date in mind just in case this happens.

Restoring an old urban farmhouse, we knew we would have to replace most of the rotted, loose and damaged windows, including some of the frames. Another issue was that the outside was cement stucco, hard as rock, impossible to trim-to-fit. When I began two years ago I got estimates from five of the major local window providers; However, since then other tasks took priority until this year. The original estimates ranged from very professional; to absurd dog-and-pony shows, including hard-sell arm-twisting marketing tactics. I'm an engineer, and I made it clear I would review 5 proposals before my final decision. Busy with rehab, I also had several options, so I wanted to be able to and quot;adjustand quot; the final contract based on specific option costs. Home Depot and Lowes prepared explicit paper estimates (kept on-file), defining exactly what would be provided and exactly what the total cost would be. Sample windows are in the showroom; their sales-people are knowledgeable and the prices are fair. Unfortunately, they may not have Installers; so you may need to find a separate installer. I started with them first to get a ballpark quote, and have a decent base estimate proposal package. Some other Distributors didn't have installers. While we could have installed windows ourselves, we wanted a complete installed package proposal. Several major vendors gave me a meaningless price-number scribbled on a paper, with no details whatsoever as to what would and would not be provided. There was no way to compare them in my bid-review. Some had silly marketing theatrics. And one major vendor actually pouted, getting angry when I wouldn't sign his contract before his estimate was even complete. His windows were good, and installation may have been good; however his unprofessional performance totally lost the sale. This year, I reviewed my previous estimates, with a better idea of what windows I wanted replaced. I'd wanted an estimate from Window World. I knew what I wanted, and knew market prices and options -- and made my intentions clear. The estimator was knowledgeable, getting right down to business. Their windows are fixed-price, based on style and options (regardless of size). With the price-sheet, I could add special options to specific windows -- which worked very well. While waiting for delivery (2-weeka after and quot;Go Aheadand quot;) we rebuilt one frame and cleaned-up some other structural trim ourselves -- deducting that work from the estimate. Their installer returned to re-measured one window for an exact fit. I also added Low-E and frosted-glass to several windows. Installation was exceptionally good. The house was in rehab, half empty; so access was no problem. The crew was punctual, skilled, hard-working, very responsive to comments, and clean. We were impressed with every quality of their work and craftsmanship. Due to rain, they came back 2-days later to finish the exterior trim, wrap and seal. Old leaks are eliminated. We touched up the interior trim and paint, as we agreed -- part of our overall rehab work. Using E-mail and phone, I carefully documented and adjusted the contract for each change. By researching the market, I had a good feel for quality and vendors. With a good proposal and price list I could add or delete as changes came up. There were no surprises on the final bill. I had good control, getting exactly what I wanted. Overall it was a very satisfactory installation. Window and installation quality were good. By doing my research, knowing what I wanted and having control; overall, I was totally satisfied with Window World of DC. The new windows work and look great in the old house.

My sales representative is Anthony Edwards. What a great guy! His presentation was on point, and I felt like I made the right choice in selecting Window World. When Antonio Guzman came to install the window, I wonder how could one person install windows by himself. Well he showed us, and I am pleased with his craftsmanship. I will be using this company again!!!

They replaced new vinyl double hung windows. They had the best price and they have the best quality. They showed up when they said they would. They knocked out all the old windows and had the new ones in by 6pm that day. They came back the next day and did all the outside work, the caulking and the windows looked like they were done from the beginning, not replacements.

We had two other window companies come out to provide estimates - Window World was the cheapest, nicest, and didn't hassle us one bit. NO games! They gave us the bottom line price and installed just two weeks later. The installers were on time, clean, and did a fine job. We'll definitely use them again!
