I was very impressed with Angel's professionalism, flexibility and knowledge. He proposed pricing the project in phases, in order to provide a more accurate estimate. When the bid came in it was twice that of other bids, which was a little disappointing, as I was hoping to work with Wall-to-Wall. We had to go with another company.

From the beginning, my experience with J. Angel Tuesta, president of Wall to Wall Construction, was excellent. After my initial contact, he got back to me right away to set up a time to meet and to look over the work that needed to be done. About two days later he provided me with a written estimate and the work was started soon after that. J. Angel was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and very responsive to all my questions/concerns. He was in constant contact with me throughout the whole process and even e-mailed me pictures on their progress and alerted me when they were not available to come by due to rainy weather. The final result was wonderful. Everything looks great and I am very pleased and would definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: Repair work was done to the Overhang in the front of my house. They removed the existing ceiling paneling, fascia board, trims, and all rotten flashing. They repaired all structural damage and installed new SOB sub roof, installed new PVC ceiling, new PVC fascia board , new perimeter trim, new 30 year torched down rubber, new flashing everywhere needed on top of the overhang roof, and painted torched down rubber with fiber silver paint.

WTW was extremely professional from start to finish. One of the reasons I chose this company was their responsiveness. The project manager was available by phone or email at all times. He also was quick to call with updates on their progress or questions about the work. I live in an early 20th century rowhouse with typical early 20th century rowhouse problems. Fortunately, WTW was comfortable working with these types of house. They quickly identified potential problems, suggested solutions, and worked with me to address any unforeseen issues. I am not the type of Angie's List member that rates contractors with straight As, but in this case, WTW earned it. The project took about 2 weeks, start to finish. It was a big job to complete in that time frame and WTW met the deadline, despite having to deal with unexpected plumbing and floor issues, other contractors working in the house, and some delays in supply delivery (my fault - we decided to change our vanity at the last moment). WTW stuck to the budget. If there were problems that required additional work and time to complete, the project manager always called to discuss my options and pricing. I never felt pressured to give them more work. In fact, I was grateful they were willing to do the extra work when I asked - the WTW team was thorough, professional, and easy to work with. Once the bathroom was done, I found a pinhole leak in the tub drain. The WTW team was there the next day to fix it free of charge. It is a relief to know that the WTW team is accountable for their work and responsive to any problems that pop up after the work is complete. I credit WTW with saving my basement. There were heavy rains in DC for two days straight while WTW as finishing up my bathroom. The project manager went down to my basement to check for any water, just to be safe. This was not part of our contract, but he thought it was a good idea. It was - there was water coming in through the front wall. He moved all my sensitive electronics and called me immediately. I really appreciated WTW going above and beyond to take care of my house while I was out. I plan to use WTW in the future. They met or exceeded all of my expectations.
Description of Work: Wall To Wall Construction demo'ed my old bathroom (7' X 7'), knocked down a wall between the bathroom and linen closet to add more bathroom space, and did all the drywall and new framing, including adding a new door. For plumbing work, WTW moved the toilet waste line across the bathroom (one corner to another), removed a radiator, and installed waste and supply lines for a double sink. For electrical, they added two vanity lights, 3 GFCI outlets, and replaced the exhaust fan. They leveled the very crooked floor and installed marble floor and wall tile. Finally, they installed all the fixtures, including a toilet, tub, vanities, and lights.

The job took two days, start to finish. WTW installed new hardibacker and 12" X 12" tile. The shape of my kitchen and sunroom required a lot of tile cuts, but they did an exceptional job. One major problem was that my sunroom and kitchen floors are on a different slope. WTW and I visited and went over my options for installing porcelain tile on both floors without a noticable break in the tile. WTW installed a transition between the kitchen and sunroom that looks fantastic. They also installed transitions between my hardwood floors and tile floor free of charge. They did an excellent job and I plan on using WTW in the future for other house projects.
Description of Work: WTW installed new tile in my kitchen and sunroom, about 200 sqft.

The design was absolutely first class - and the construction work was rapid and careful. The result is a beautiful new family room, fabulous bathroom with awe-inspiring slate-tiled walls and floor, a new kitchen and a well-designed new entrance hall. We are truly delighted with the result. As a measure of the thoughtfulness of this remarkable contractor, I should add that the final touch was when we ordered a sofa for the new room that was too large for easy delivery via the front door. Angel and his team carried the sofa over the garage, across the deck, lifted it over a balcony and put it in place. All because they wanted to see the final product looking good. I can not praise them enough. Feel free to contact me (via Angie's List) for any further details.
Description of Work: Angel Tuesta and company designed a complete basement remodelling for us - and saw it through to completion. They stuck with us through many (many!) last minute changes of mind on our part - with patience, infinite good humor and precision.

We got an estimate but did not use their services. We thought they are an excellent company.
Description of Work: We received an estimate from Wall-to-Wall, and they were very responsive and professional. We decided not to use them because they did not have an in-house architect, and the back-and-forth between an outside architect and the company would have delayed our project too long. But we were very impressed with their knowledge, price, and responsiveness.

We just purchased our first home?a 3-level townhome. The main floor and basement level already had hardwood floors, and we wished to continue the hardwoods on the 3rd level in the two bedrooms. Since we had a week in our old place before moving in, we thought it would be ideal to have the floors installed prior to the move. We contacted Angel, and he was able to arrange for the floors to be done straight away. The work was completed within a couple of days. The floors are gorgeous!! They did a wonderful job, especially with all the nooks and crannies where the room meets the closets. The work is very professional, and it is always a pleasure to work with Angel. (We have used his company before) After the job was completed, Angel?s team did an amazing job of cleaning-up all the dust?you would have never known that the floors had just been installed today. We look forward to working with Angel on our next home improvement project!

I was very pleased with both the quality of work and W2W's professionalism, particularly that of Angel Tuesta. Phones calls were returned promptly, the crew always showed up on time, they were efficient with their work and careful around the house, and they did a good cleanup job. These may seem like small things, but anyone that's worked with DC-area contractors know how rare it is to find a contractor that acts like a real professional. I also feel that Mr. Tuesta was very honest with me, gave me the facts straight up, and didn't try to low-ball estimates in order to get in and then expand the scope of work. As far as the quality of work, I feel that it was just as good and probably better than any other contractor I've worked with in the past 5 years. I will definitely hire W2W in the future, and will look to them before any other contractor. I've already recommended them to neighbors, which should indicate how pleased I am with their work.

The whole process went very smooth. I did tons of remodeling in my home before and always felt overwhelmed, because the builders always seem to come at me with "unexpected" problems or they forget to do things that were previously agreed upon and I always have to remind them. However, this project which I thought would be complicated, was in fact very well managed by Angel Tuesta and I never had to worry about anything. They worked fast, they left the house clean, and their price was very competitive. The door was a great addition to our house and it looks beautiful.

Disappointed by their customer service. I tried calling them for 2 days and left messages, but did not get a response the next business day as their message states until I called a few days later. I spoke with Angel and set up a day and time for him to see the house and discuss the remodelling projects but he never showed up. When I called, he had written down the wrong address and phone number. He was not flexible in rescheduling the estimate. I would be hesitant to hire someone who does not seem to pay attention to detail.

Response from Wall to Wall Construction, Inc
It is unfortunate that we had the wrong phone number listed for this customer. We did, in fact, arrive to the premises and then we called the number we had, but there was no answer. We waited for 35 minutes and when the customer called us with the correct phone number, they were upset, and they asked us to come immediately, but we were unable to do so due to other appointments. We do our very best to be prompt with our appointments, but we are human and sometimes make mistakes. In this case, the wrong phone number was an issue. The customers were also unwilling to give us a second chance to visit their home another day.

The experience was one which i was a little worried about but turned out better than i expected. Angel helped me with understanding always what was going on, and what was next in the project. I was able to experience the changes my house was going through, with the help of Angel along the way. His entire crew worked hard, and were neat which is most important. I can not speak any better of Angel's punctuality, from the estimate, until the last day on the site.

We had a solar hot water heating system installed. To accommodate the 80-gallon water tank, we had to remove part of a 2x4 and paneling wall and a door in our basement apartment. My tenant looked at the tank when she sat in her living room. I called Julio and explained our need for quick service. He scheduled the work the next week, and completed the work as requested. The repaired wall looks great. The door works just fine.

Angel Tuesta was excellent to deal with. The glass addition is unique, probably added by a previous do-it-yourself owner. While aesthetically pleasing, some unprofessional details had to be repaired. The floor was far more damaged than expected and had to be fully replaced and shored up; brick side walls had to be repaired; and critical but difficult grout on wide expanses of glass had to be removed and replaced. Our house is old, I have some antiques, stairways are narrow and things can be fragile. Despite all, Angel's men were able to do full floor demolition and beautiful replacement while being ultra careful in less than easy working conditions. Oh, and did I say there house is fully surrounded by flowers and shrubs that W-to-W had to negotiate ladders and equipment through without damage. Careful, excellent work. Highly recommend.

It is a small company to deal with so I think that the individual who owns the company does the work. I think that is good because sometimes they have subcontractors. They came in and let us know what it is that they were going to do. We gave them a budget and then they took care of going out and finding materials within our budget. There was no extra cost or surprises even though it was a pretty big job because they had to change the shower bed. Some companies before them would not even quote me.

i called late on a friday afternoon (8/21) and the manager, j. angel tuesta, came over and gave me an oral estimate at 7 am the following monday (8/24). work was scheduled two days later (8/26). the day of the work, the manager and enrique (who actually did most of the work) arrived right on time at 8 am. unfortunately, even though enrique was supposed to return with materials within 30-40 minutes, he had difficulty in finding them and actually started closer to 11 am. however, the manager called to update me fairly promptly about the problem. a second problem arose a little later in that the drywall was the wrong thickness so enrique left for about an hour to pick up a new piece. ultimately enrique stayed late to finish the bulk of the job and the manager came the next morning to do a short 5-10 minute finish up to the trim. in terms of the price, i was warned even before the estimate appointment that wall-to-wall charges 350 each time they come out so it may not be worth it for a very small job. thus, the price seemed a little high but ultimately i was satisfied that i got good quality work for it. additionally, despite the slight delays on the day of the work, i was most impressed with the company's responsiveness and punctuality and i believe that factor increases the cost-value ratio.
Description of Work: i had water damage in one of my kitchen walls. wall-to-wall replaced the drywall (approximately a 5 by 4 piece), made sure there was no mold, and painted it with paint that i provided.

I first contacted Wall to Wall Construction after discovering cracked brickwork beneath one of the windows in my home. Repair work was carried out which included removing the window and frame. Everything was completed within the agreed timeline. The contractor kept me informed of what was being done each day and was easy to contact when I had questions during the process. Following my initial contact and the great service I had experienced, I contacted Wall to Wall Construction to help with some plumbing. I had an outside faucet that was not functioning due to incomplete work from a previous contractor. Wall to Wall construction quickly established the cause of the problem, and a new section of piping was welded into place. I found this contractor easy to contact, knowledgeable and reliable. I would definitely use this contractor again and highly recommend them.

These folks are excellent. Angel Tuesta runs the company and he has solid people working for him in all of the trades. His work is very good, he's very knowledgeable, he is very polite, and he is extraordinarily responsive and responsible. We always talk through the pros and cons of the various options available for each job and his work is consistently very good. I've renovated a gutted house and dealt with enough contractors to separate the good from the bad and ugly. Almost all the work was done according to schedule, and Angel negotiates or informs me whenever there are delays or when issues arise that require him to be elsewhere. It's a very refreshing feeling to know that you are dealing with someone you trust, someone who is on the level with you.
