The refrigerator was a brand the company did not work on frequently yet the technician was able to diagnose the problem and diligently followed up to obtain the necessary technical manuals and parts to repair. The technician proactively kept me updated on where he was with obtaining information and parts and was very prompt in scheduling. This was the most diligent repair service technician we have encountered - highly recommend.

I was impressed with how responsive they were the morning I called for a repair. They first gave me a date for a few days away. I asked if the work could be done sooner, and they gave me an appointment for later that day. The repairman showed up on time and had the part we needed. When he told us the job would be $275, and I took a look at the part, I had some concern about how much we were paying for it and the labor. I'll admit, I don't know much about appliance repair, but the part looked like a relatively simply plastic device. Before I had a chance to say anything about the price, he told us that he would take $40 off the price of the job. I told him we had his Angie's List coupon that would give us $30 off. He said, "That is why I took off the $40." I still thought it was a little steep, but after the almost two hours, the house call and the part, I feel like it was more fair than I first thought. He wound up working for close to two hours (and I will admit that I didn't think it would take that long). He did a great job cleaning up after himself, and all that was left was a fixed washing machine. Not a trace of water or work. That was impressive. I assume the gentleman was a subcontractor, because he didn't show up in a company truck and didn't have a company shirt, but that didn't cause any problems. The only confusion I had was when I went to fill out this report. I looked at the receipt he gave us, and the name of the company on the receipt did not match the name of the company I called. I'm not sure what that was about, but I do believe it was Service Master who sent him to us, and I appreciate that they found a way to help us the day we called, rather than make us wait another 2 or 3 days. I will call this company again. I appreciate how responsive they were, and I am impressed with the quality of the work and worker they sent out. It is just too bad I don't have their name and number on the receipt.
Description of Work: Our washing machine was leaking water. The repairman determined that we needed a new drain pump. He had one in his truck, and was able to replace it immediately. The machine has worked fine since the repair.

My 9-year old refrigerator and freezer stopped working, and water was leaking out onto the floor of my kitchen. I called ServiceMaster (who I found on Angie's List) was told told that they could have a technician there that day. They gave me a time window of 1-4. The technician let me know that he was on a bigger-than-expected job and that it would be towards the later end of that time window. He then called again to let me know when he was on his way. He arrived at 3:30. The technician (Sohi) was professional, and courteous. He quickly diagnosed the problem and explained it to me. He had the needed parts and equipment with him and was able to fix the problem. The melting of everything in my freezer caused a bit of a mess, and when he left, there was less of a mess than when he got there. Further, he gave me an accurate cost estimate and provided a discount so my total came in under his estimate. Everything seems to be working smoothly again. I would highly recommend ServiceMaster.
Description of Work: The refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling. The technician diagnosed problem and determined that the defrost heaters in the freezer broke, causing ice to build up on the coils to the point of preventing cold air from circulating to the freezer and fridge. He replace the heater and the thermostat.

Very nice and knowledgeable serviceman (had engineering degree from India) and I was very happy with outcome. He explained the problem was common with my model of refrigerator but the replacement part would prevent the problem from occurring again for "many years." I shared my experience with neighbors in my building (a condo). However, several neighbors in my building who have had the same issue have told me that their repair was only about $250.
Description of Work: Refrigerator quit cooling and frost built up on walls of freezer. Called Service Master, explained the problem and was told someone would be at my place within 3 hours. Serviceman came within time frame and brought the replacement part with him, based on my description of the problem. He installed it within 45 minutes.

They did a good job. We've only used them once. I have nothing special to say but they did a fine job. The price was acceptable or little above as it didn't seem particularly high given what it was.

The repair man was on time. He was professional. He explained the problem and how he would fix it. the problem was fixed within an hour. I would call them again for any appliance repair.
Description of Work: Sunday morning I found that my 8 year old refrigerator was not working. I didn't know who to call. Looked on Angie's list and found Service Master with an A service rating. Better yet they had Sunday hours. They came within the time frame they said they would. I had a coupon from Angie web site so I got a discount of $31.00. The gentleman fixed a relay switch to the compressor and the fridge is working.

They came out to see why my dishwasher wasn't working; they determined that I needed a new one. When they called back a few days later to give me the estimate for a new motor, they were very honest in saying that it might not be worth it since I could get a new one for the same price. I appreciated that honesty, and would go back to them in the future because of that.

We woke up to a warm refrigerator and called Service Master at 7 am. They had a technician here before noon and replaced the compressor. The technician was one of the best we have ever worked with. We would highly recommend them.

Went OK but worker did not wear professional clothing, just looked like an average joe, not a service man.
Description of Work: I called to request a service visit to evaluate my refrigerator. The freezer is not working properly. When I called they told me that a service person would arrive between 5-8PM. I received a call saying that a service person was coming at 4pm. The person had no uniform but had a toolbox, he also was on his bluetooth for part of the time. The diagnostic was that there was a leak in the system and it needs freon. That it would be better to get a new fridge. The peson was going to charge me 49.95 but I told him that the price quoted over the phone was 39.95. This made me uncomfortable I paid with credit card.

Not well: The 2013 quote was somewhere between $200 and $250. They now want $295.00. When searching for the part online, it seems to be around $50.00. I will try to find someone with more fair pricing.
Description of Work: unclog filter/drain so that my combination washer / drier would resume the washing and drying of my clothes December 9 2014 update: I had the same company come out again to diagnose another problem in 2013. Their quote was high, so I told them not to order the necessary part and that I would get back to them at a later date. They said okay but did not explain that the service credit is only valid for 10 days. Forward to present date: Since I had lost my original quote, I left a message with model/serial numbers on November 15th and did not get a response. I called again on November 17th to get an exact quote and again provided the model/serial numbers with a person. They took the information but again did not call back. Today (three weeks later) I called and they informed me that the credit did not apply and their quote increased.

We probably paid a $110 or a little less than that. We were able to give them one of the discounts that were offered. For one thing; because I have worked so much with customers, the very first thing that I noticed was that; the man who answered the phone was in a good mood. It was not like he was overly perky or anything like that. He was professional, bright, warm and friendly. He spoke to me as though he was eager to receive my call as they could do a service to me. They had to come for two days because we did the part and even on the second day they were to come back with the part he had to come a little later because it was not initially where he thought it would be; he kept in contact with me. The service person kept calling me to give me the update of where he was that he was on his way that he had secured the part and he would be at my residence within a few minutes and he was. I was just very impressed. This was very carrying, bit too friendly and just bubbles on the water; try to shy and we are gone. We plan to call them back for the dish washer and our oven as soon as we have the money for it.

Tenants washer broke down and I called Service Master. They answered the call directly (no voicemails) and set an appointment within 48 hours. The serviceman arrived within the window period, identified the part that needed replacement and completed the repair on site. Only negative was when I tried using a discount coupon they post on their website. The repairman said the price he quoted "included the coupon discount" (but I hadn't raised the coupon when he prepared his estimate) and the coupon didn't reduce the cost. Seemed pointless to even post it if it wasn't going to reduce the fee. Cost felt high, but the job was handled on time and the problem solved in the first visit.

My husband dealt with them more and he was pleased with them. They were quick to respond and set up an appointment. They were friendly and helpful, and didn?t try to oversell us on anything. We were pleased with the work they did. We have not had any issues with the quality of their work. We would use them again in the future if necessary.

The refrigerator still was not working properly after the first visit. I had to call them back and they didn't find anything wrong. My refrigerator still is not working to my satisfaction but there was no reason to call them back again. I was told the washer was just going to be a temporary fix and I was OK with that.

The person who came out went through the warranty. He said it was under warranty and that they would cover the cost no matter what. He came out when he said he would. He came out quickly and was on time. He charged a certain amount and we sent it to our warranty. We only have a certain deductible to pay, I can't remember whether it is $50 or $75. I cannot recall the bill that he sent. My husband was the one who worked with him. He was good.

I called on Saturday morning because my dryer wasn't heating up at all. They came out later on that afternoon and surveyed the dryer and determined that there was a bad safety fuse. They replaced it and all was restored. Timmy was very courteous and professional.

I was initially impressed, in that I called on a Sunday and they came a few hours later. He took a conservative approach, and said if it didn't work to call him back. Within a week it wasn't cooling again so I called them back. He came back and recommended that I call Maytag because he didn't think he could fix the problem. I was told that he would refund the money I had paid, since they did not fix the problem. But the refund never came. I therefore cannot recommend them - although they were prompt and courteous, they neither fixed the refrigerator nor fulfilled their promise of a refund.

I called the company. They made an appointment for the next day in the afternoon. The technician was running late and called us. We were available later, so he came after the original time. The technician's name was Lucky and we were lucky to have him. He examined the icemaker. He diagnosed the problem as the water line. My husband had turned off the water valve accidently so no water, no ice. However, lack of water burned out the water pump at the bottom of the fridge, which had to be replaced. Lucky tested the pump with a diagnostic tool, which showed that the pump didn't work. He replaced it; my husband turned on the water supply and the icemaker worked just fine. Lucky also changed the light bulbs in the fridge, which kept burning out because we had the humidity set too high. Excessive moisture burns out the bulbs. The initial service charge of 50.00 was deducted from the cost of the repair. Our fridge is repaired and we are happy customers.
Description of Work: the technician fixed my icemaker in my Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer, replaced light bulbs in the refrigerator and advised us on correct settings for both the freezer and the refrigerator.

Excellent. I called on Sunday afternoon at 3pm and the technician was here within an hour. Repair only took 30 minutes. Technician was very professional.
Description of Work: My freezer wasn't cooling; It was a quick replacement of the PTC relay on a Whirlpool freezer. He cleaned out the inside of the freezer/refrigerator while the back panel was off.
