They came to diagnose a problem with our dishwasher. After 10 minutes they said they needed to order a part and would call back. However our dishwasher was continuing to leak all over the floor even though we weren't running it. I called them back to say it was still leaking and then they set up an appointment for them to come and do the repair. They never called me back to say the part was available. On the day scheduled they called and pushed back the time window of their arrival. Then they called back a little later and said they would not make it that day. They came the next day but tried to show up before the time window so I was not home. They did come back after I got home only to tell me that they thought it was actually a different problem and would need to order new parts. They once again told me that they would call when the parts came in. Meanwhile the dishwasher has been daily leaking all over the floor. We began calling the next day to schedule that repair. It is five days later and they still don't have the part. We are now going to find a new company to do the repair. I was in such a hurry that I didn't take time to cross reference the company with Angie's List. I really wish I had and I won't be making that mistake again.

Called for repair to my ice maker. Provided the model number before. After 4 minutes there and $75 later was told it was the motor they would let me know how much it would cost. I called Sears and they told me the price for the part was $67. I then called and spoke with Menora. She told me initially that the cost for the part was $90 something. Later in the conversation she said the price was $157.60 including tax (She increased the price to me by over 50%). She told me that the price for installation was $149 and the $75 that I paid would be applied to the cost of repair. If I purchased the part through her. If I ordered the part elsewhere and have them install it the price would be $149 and she would not apply the initial $75 payment. They are not honest. I do not recommend them.

No show for service appointment
Description of Work: I made an appointment to have my portable ac/heat pump looked at from 1-4pm I made a call at 3:30 to confirm and they said I was still scheduled. At 430, I called back and they eventually reached the technician who said he tried to call at 1:30 - but I have no record of the call and no messages were left. Also the receptionist had no record that he tried to call and no one answered. He essentially said tough luck and I tried to get a manager to call me be back but an hour later - no response. I'm giving up on this company - it seems rather unprofessional. Based on my experience, do not use this company.

There is no overall experience to report. Wrote this out so Angie's List and their clients would know what happened.
Description of Work: I just tried to call this company as our refrigerator has broken. Angies's List subscribers should know that 1 number was disconnected, 2 of them said the number I was trying could not be reached as dialed (I double-checked and I did dial the numbers as shown), and the other never connected me with anyone. Not sure what is going on, but clearly no emergency service is available today (Sunday the 24th of January).

Around noon on a Saturday, my wife noticed the freezer wasn't working. It had done this before and then kicked back on after an hour or so, so we weren't worried. But around 3:30 p.m., it still hadn't come back on and everything was melting. We started calling around for service. The first company we tried -- highly recommended on Angie's List -- never called back so around 5 p.m. we started calling other companies. Residential said they had had someone right in our area, but he was gone and we'd have to wait until Sunday morning. In the meantime, the freezer came back on again, so the emergency had passed, but clearly something was wrong. The next day the Residential technician, Ben, came on time and told us the problem was a faulty computer board. He didn't have one in his truck, but said he could come by the next morning -- Monday between 8 and 9 a.m. -- with the part. He was here at 8:15 a.m. and apologized for being late. The whole job took about 15 minutes, including Ben sweeping up our mess behind the fridge and being careful not to scratch our hardwood floors as he moved the fridge back and forth. The problem has not recurred.
Description of Work: The freezer in our GE refrigerator stopped working on a weekend.

They came promptly, they called before arriving, they did a good assessment, they were polite and understandable. They only charged the cost of a service call. They were very honest about cost of repair vs. replacement.
Description of Work: They assessed the control panel on my kitchen range; it was dying. It was a digital display that was dying. It would have been a couple of hundred dollars to replace the digital display, but we opted to buy a new stove.

The technician was not only courteous and informative but he was thorough in identifying additional items that were not performing as they should have been. He ensured that all water leaks were addressed. He arrived on time and was very professional. He also finished the work quickly.
Description of Work: He replaced the water drain hose and the door seal on my dishwasher. He also inspected the inside of the dishwasher.
