+ -1 moreWe love the countertop. Their service was impeccable, the install was way faster than they originally quoted (just 4 days - 2 over the weekend! from measurement to install), and they cleaned up after themselves so well. I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: We hired them to cut and install a white and gray quartz countertop in our kitchen.

+ 0 moreYou couldn't believe the quality of workmanship. To do the design properly, they cut all the marble squares to custom sizes. Although their price is not cheap, once you negotiate, they haven't charged me any extras. I had them make a doorsill out of the matching marble and they did it wonderfully, free of charge. They also taped everything up so no dust went around the home. The marble surround on the fireplace, went against the plaster wall, instead of notching into the wall they shaved down the marble to meet the contours of the wall. it was unbelievable.
Description of Work: They did a bathroom, shower shower floor, and fireplace surround.

+ -1 moreThey are unbelievably neat. They're kind of like a class above the standard contractor. When they did a bathroom for me here, or a shower, they put paper over the whole stairways and they taped the room closed. They mostly do work for local builders. They also did work for one of my neighbors, who looks like Bo Derek did when she was younger, and she said that everything they did for them was wonderful too. I had a problem with a sill in the bathroom. I had a bathroom which was small and I wanted to have a design in the floor but the tiles were 12" x 12" and it just didn't work with a border, so for an extra $150 they cut all the 12" x 12" tiles down to 10" x 10"s. So then they put a border around it so you had two full tiles between the borders and it looked proper instead of like a tile and a half. For an overall grade, they are a double-A. I have a door sill between the bathroom and the hallway and I told them that I wanted it changed because the door sill was not all marble matching it, and they said oh no problem, we'll change it and no charge. But then I looked at it and since the hallway was all dark wood and the marble was kind of a pinkish marble, I said I really don't want the pink going into the hallway. So I left it, and they only charged me for the sill, to make the sill, $75. I thought, if you go and get a wood sill from a national provider, it's like $30. This was installed, and some of the tiles had some spots in them, so although I had to buy new tiles, they took the tiles out and put in the tiles so I had all the color variations I wanted. Most of the workers are from Brazil actually, although the owners are from Portugal. They also did a fireplace for me where the old fireplace - I put a gas fireplace in - and I couldn't believe it. I got a very nice beige Travertine for around the fireplace, and where the Travertine was going against the wall, I expected them to notch out the drywall to fit the marble in. What they did though is they fixed the marble so it went according to the wall. I have another thing I'm planning to have them do, but I'll have to check the price out. What we have is, in the kitchen we about twenty feet of kitchen counter and I don't know whether we'll use another provider's man or use Marmara.

Description of Work: In 2004 they installed granite counters in my new large kitchen. They have a wonderful selection of quality stone and their prices are competitive. Because this was the first really nice kitchen I was going to get at home at age 58, I knew exactly what I wanted and it wasn't going to be easy since green granite is hard to find. I visited many granite suppliers with no success. There was such a sameness about so many granite slabs which one gets tired of after seeing it installed everywhere, mine is still being greatly admired by all who see it after 10 years. Eduardo Novaes, the person I dealt with then and again this year for granite counters (July 2013) was superb as before. The granite and installation occurred as scheduled and very quickly. Eduardo both in 2004 and 2013 was the soul of professionalism. He knows his business and doesn't waste your time but will spend as much time as needed to make sure you get what you want and will make excellent suggestions if you bring a piece of your cabinet such as a dooro) to find the best color with it. In 2004 when we remodeled our large kitchen I was intent on getting green granite which is hard to find and he found just the right slabs to install the granite for maximum effect to make the most of the veins throughout the slabs to preserve the sense of movement created by the earth's upheavals when the granite was being formed. As soon as we got the appliances and the custom sink we saw at the designer show in Washington installed (extra deep and large with both a stainless steel counter to dry dishes and one on the other side to use as a chopping board with a pull out trash cabinet immediately underneath to sweep debris right into the can), he got to work on the installation and it was all done in under a week. I got his name from a master tiler, a real perfectionist who had done work on the Clintons' home in Washington DC. In turn he got the name from high end architectural firms in this area. This year, I hesitated to go to Marmara for a small basement kitchen thinking it would not be worth their time. After Home Depot dropped the ball badly, I called Eduardo and found the perfect granite; I ordered it, measurements were done in one business day; the counter was installed approximately 10 days later. I can't say enough about how great it is to work with Marmara (someone always answers the phone for instance, the staff is always pleasant and efficient.) Eduardo has a great sense of quality, style, and color. I'd give them many more stars if that were possible. Kathleen McElroy

They were helpful in choosing the stone, always courteous and professional, answered my questions quickly, showed up precisely on time the day of install, and when I found a tiny problem -- a backsplash that ended an inch or two before the end of the counter - they came back the very next day to fix it. The counters look fantastic and I would definitely go back to them if I had another job.
